What what? In this thread, you may join up to go around and give CnC to works in the Nook for a month. For quite a bit of time now, there hasn't been too much regular activity within it, and this system will hopefully inspire more people to weigh in on work and create a regular flow of posting and collaboration between all Nook goers. Requirements 1-3 people only (first dibs!) Must comment on 2 Main Section works and 2 from one of the subsections (or more if you wish) over a month. After the month is up, new participants may take part, but you can also sign up again if you want to. As these go on, the number of allowed participants shall increase. Benefits As an incentive for participating, you get a guaranteed judging position in a future Prose of the Season/Poetic ars nova Season competition! Furthermore, one work of your choice will have to be commented on by at least one member of the next month's taskforce! Thanks for participating, and rev up those keyboards!
If mere text discussions don't tickle your fancy, you have the option to gather the greatest minds and hear them and yourself exchange a few rounds of discussion, this thread's for you! In here, you may schedule a Skype session with other members to discuss whatever topic you choose; anything from practicing a play to discussing the writing style differences of Classic and New Doctor Who. A calendar of dates will be added to this post in the near future.~
Have some words hot off the keyboard to send off? Got some sick nasty lyrics ready to be a hot pick? Want to give some lonely soul some SoKai fluff (i would love you forever)? Look no further! In this thread, you may post a link to a story/poem/etc that you wish for someone to comment on! You can post as many links as you'd like, however, please wait at least one week before reposting a work/bumping with a previous post of yours! Members are busy and likely might not be able to get to commenting right away, so please have patience. Furthermore, if you take some comments, give some! We all want some critique, so keep in mind others want some just as much as you!
In this thread, feel free to suggest new additions you want to Literate Beans, things to change and do on. ~~Suggestion History Coming Soon~~
Literate Beans is a family for writers, readers, and anyone else interested in the literary arts to discuss their passion and work with others of a similar mindset. This can be their own productions, influences upon them, literature that has stood out in their lives, and other such ideas. The main objective is to encourage a healthy, casual group in which people can discuss ideas, influences and current projects with one another, creating a fun community in which people can share ideas and wisdom, with the occasional bouts of japery and silliness. In this group, you may post links to your work in the Writer's Nook (or any of its subsections) in order to get feedback from fellow family members, with a more critical eye than you might get otherwise if you so desire. Furthermore, there will be a myriad of events available to members and non-members alike of the Literate Beans family, listed below: I. Cafe Sessions II. Prose of the Season/Poetic ars Nova Season III. Book Club The goal of this family is not only to bring together individuals with a similar passion for literature and writing, but also to establish greater activity in the sections about it, stimulate thoughtful, rounded discussion and critique and promote literary activities on the site. What are Cafe Sessions? Cafe Sessions are, in basic terms, a round table discussion of one particular facet of Writing or Literature. Topics will range from creating interesting characters and settings, to using imagery and "tools of the trade", and from analyzing texts and the importance of critical reading to spotting, identifying and using tropes. These discussions will, hopefully, be a fun and engaging way to get to know other writers, exchange opinions about literature and writing, and also improve our knowledge of literary theory and skill as writers in general. The important part about these sessions is that they are an open floor to discuss opinions and insights about writing and reading, where differences are encouraged and accepted. Topics will, at first, be chosen by us, but as we progress people will be able to suggest new topics they want to discuss with the group, skills they want to hone, or general interests. Discussions will last 15 days before a new one is started, however that does not mean that discussion cannot continue once a new discussion begins, and in fact we'd like to encourage those who enjoy and want to continue discussion to do so. The end goal is to develop a better understanding of literature and creative writing through discussion, like a tutorial and with the end result being a resource which can be used to help people struggling with that particular theme. Why should you join? Literate Beans is a collection of people who have a keen interest in the literary arts, and therefore, those who become members will be able to interact more closely with people of a similar mindset, in addition to discussing ideas thoughtfull and in great depth. The Cafe Sessions will not only open a wide range of literary discussion, but they'll also be a good way to earn post count with legitimate and thought-provoking discussion In addition, members who are part of the family are able to ask for feedback for recent work, in effect advertising in the thread. The idea here is that you will be able to ask for a deeper level of criticism for your work from the group, if you're looking for it. In addition to this, you will be able to have a say on when activities such as PotS, PanS and the Book Club will take place. This is to ensure that we have a base of people who actually want to take part in the contest, instead of what has been happening more recently when there has been little to no participation. Using this system, we can put control in the hands of the people who want to be part of the contests, and they can control when they want it. Those who are part of the family can also suggest improvements and adjustments to the way that things are run in the Literature and Nook sections. This could include, but not be limited to, suggestions for contests, changes to policy in that area etc. Not being a part of the family doesn't prevent this sort of feedback, but it will be an ideal forum in which to discuss how these changes could affect the more active participants in the sections. We'll also be adding many more benefits in the future for everyone in the family to enjoy, so you have nothing to lose by joining if you're an active member who loves literature and/or writing!

SINCE IT'S ACTIALLY REAL NOW What do you want to see in the gameplay? Do you want gameplay features from past games (command board, flowmotion, cards, etc.) or do you have a new idea altogether? I thought about this last night and have a couple things I'd like to see so far: Multiplayer: Run similar to the Mirage Arena and multiplayer of Days. Lets you play as any of the characters you can have in your party (KAIRI PLEASE) and you can duke it out in fights or do co-op objectives. Or maybe a grand scale Keyblade War free for all. Kairi Gameplay (Party Member): I literally don't even have thoughts about her fighting style I just want her to get in the fray and kick some Xehass.
Is some TWEWY 2 and/or Persona 5 news and I will pretty much cry a storm atop the roof of my house.
Since I haven't heard back from places I applied to and am basically at home all day, I figure I'd get some recs to work through. So far I'm planning on going through Anime: Cowboy Bebop (I caught scattered episodes on Toonami but never say all the way through) NGE (I'm scared) Trigun Lupin III Big O Shows: Doctor Who (I've only watched through Journey to the Center of the TARDIS and me gusta) Community Arrested Development Movies: Akira Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Moonrise Kingdom Rise of the Guardians Perks of Being a Wallflower The Hobbit Amazing Spider-Man Rewatches: Steins;Gate Gurren Lagann (I'm probably going to need this after NGE) I know a few of you may recommend Supernatural, Deadman Wonderland and so on. But, I don't like real time gory scenes. They tend to freak me out...a lot, depending on how much there is. (Might be wrong about SPN being gory but quite a few of the gifs I've seen on Tumblr have been so oof). (I say as I watch NGE lord) Other than that, go nuts & thank ya homies.
tl;dr: I basically do everything on my iPod till July or so, so I will not be as active and I am also going to DISNEY at the end of the month. Hey all. My hard drive's gone to shit in the past week and a half, so I'm trying to backup my files (ALMOST DONE). Honestly I think I'm just gonna sell my current computer and upgrade to a new one :L Anyway, I'm able to get on with my iPod so me doing things may be a bit limited, but I should be raring to go within a few weeks (re: July) because I need to raise some money since buying it now will deplete my School Funds significantly (I'd have $3 left for books pretty much...) This is also coinciding with my 10 day vacation to Florida at the end of June, so yeah. :C I'm here but not entirely, so don't miss me too hard (try if you can't)
the sky is a hollow sea I found this on a Tumblr blog of an artist whose Korra fanart I liked a lot (Lin bby). I haven't gotten too far into it yet, but I like what I've seen. The protagonist is (as you probs guessed) nameless and they're thrust on a journey to find out who they are. The art is very top notch and the paneling structure gets pretty creative to flow with the events happening.
Spoiler i don't think i'm ready for this
i am finally properly prepared for finals week
I am unequivocally tall. I do not know any women who are taller than me. The women who are taller than me are lesbians, for whom 1969 was a very momentous year.
Howdy kids! Ploohems is your host this week, and I'm excited to say we had nearly 10 entries! As much as I'dlike to reward you all for doing something I could probably never do ever, unfortunately there can only be five. ;c And to shut me up, here is the Top 5 videos for this week: This Week's Judge(s): Plums 1. Kingdom Hearts Me Without You Remix Kingdom Hearts Me Without You (Remix) Submitted by: darkhorseD Song: Without You by Tobymac Details: I really liked how the scenes matched the lyrics (e.g. transition to BBS when the star was falling). I also felt the song was very fitting to the KH as a whole -- Sora depending on his friends and everyone supporting each other nomatter who or what got in the way. Link: http://kh-vids.net/media/kingdom-hearts-me-without-you-remix.413/ 2. And the World Turned Submitted by: minicoop55 Song: And the World Turned by The Gabe Dixon Band Details: SoKai video hnnnnnnnggg. That being said, the video's contrast seemed pretty high with the darkened lighting, but the video was very well done! I especially enjoyed the breaks that used Sora and Kairi's final lines in KH1, it was a very nice touch. Link: http://kh-vids.net/media/and-the-world-turned.411/ 3. Kingdom Hearts; Birth by Sleep [TRAILER 2013] Submitted by: starlight2011studios Song: Unknown Details: I thought the video was good. Some of the scenes seemed to drag a bit, such as Aqua talking to Ven in radiant garden. The music was very good with the scenes, however, the audio from the games had the game BGM in it and together it sounded a bit awkward. Nonetheless, very cool! Link: http://kh-vids.net/media/kingdom-hearts-birth-by-sleep-trailer-2013.407/ 4. [Collab] - Alive ʷ/ ᴾᵃˢˢᶦᵒᶰˣ³ Submitted by: FurySp4rk Song: Alive by Arrow to Athens Details: I felt the song was very fitting with the focus of your video Sora & Kairi)! The editing was well done, and I think my only qualm is the purple tint to the video -- it made everything a bit too saturated, but very good! Link: http://kh-vids.net/media/collab-alive-ʷ-ᴾᵃˢˢᶦᵒᶰˣ³.412/ 5. Kingdom Hearts - Faint Submitted by: minicoop55 Song: Faint by Linkin park Details: I really liked the amount of transitions you had with the video; I felt it fit the song choice pretty nicely. The scanline like effect (TV Simulator?), was a tad overused to me, though. Good job nonetheless! Link: http://kh-vids.net/media/kingdom-hearts-faint.409/ Congratulations to all who placed this week! Haven't placed yet? Don't give up! Your video certainly was not bad, and you may place in a future week.
she was really mean to me and called me names it makes me cry and be sad inside what a poo
I thought we could start some WRITING DISCUSSION here B) As the title says, what do you currently have in the works? I have a few ideas, but I need to fold laundry, so have at it, kids.
welcome to How Do I Make A Friend: The Movie No, but to give a brief synopsis, I was hella lonely for months at school and it was bad, but I made some friends and WOO. However, this was mostly because two friends from high school got me quickly into the swing of the new dorm moved to (my old one was a steamin' pile of poo), but idk, I just feel like I haven't made an actual friend unaided by anyone else. I wasn't exactly the best at this during high school either, but I reached out to a very few people and they ended up being really close friends of mine. Anyway, there is someone who I do want to reach out & be friends with. They were in one of my classes at the start of the year, and we talked a bit and got along well. We added each other on Facebook and I messaged them about extra credit for that class back in November, and that was the last time we talked. Recently they had ~liked~ one of my statuses on Facebook, and even though that amounts to basically nothing other than a "hey i agree w/ this", I do still wanna talk to them & get to know them more because I always thought they were pretty cool and we had a fair amount of things in common (especially music taste & humor). I'm not entirely sure what to say to them though, given that it's been 6 months. I am sort of afraid messaging them will come off as a bit "?????/ where dd this come from woow Awkward" (which I have experienced before and it is uncomfortable as hell). Idk, I just feel bad that I didn't before because i was having a rough time, and don't want to keep fear of it being too late from holding me back before it is actually too late. halp
So long story short, my iPod Touch got jacked while at a concert in November, and I haven't had the money to buy one. But I recently got some more, so I am HYPED to have my nightly moosik walks again. However, I'm not sure whether I want to buy the 5th Gen o just get another 4th Gen again? 4th Gen. is cheaper by far (and I am frugal as hell), but 5th one comes with a lot of stuff (noicer video quality & I can play TWEWY: Solo Remix on it). So I'm honestly not sure which to swing for, so pls halp. ;~;
Didn't see a thread for this, so: Click above to go to the weekly promotional sale! Starting on each Tuesday of the week, HumbleBundle will be offering games as part of a "pay what you want promotion" every week for a game you can play on Steam (Linux/Mac support varies with the promos). It began last week, in which they offered Bastion for sale (which I got :v). You can pay any amount of money starting from a $1, which will net you the game(s) given during that week. However, I definitely recommend more, if not for the promo goodies that might come, but mostly for the fact that a portion of the funds go directly to a certain charity service for that week -- you can even choose how much of the money goes to the Developers, Charity and Humble itself. Anyway, this thread will be for updating the promotions each week, and I'll put a table in the OP tracking what's been given~ THIS WEEK: Darksiders and Red Faction: Armageddon (note: only for Windows on Steam)
