One of the other announcements from the recent Nintendo Direct, Nintendo will be releasing the two games Puzzle & Dragons Z and Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition as a single bundle for the 3DS this May. Both based on the popular free smartphone game (wildly popular in Japan, I might add), the best way I can think of to describe Puzzle & Dragons is Candy Crush + Pokémon + a first-person dungeon crawler. On the bottom half of the screen (the touch screen on the 3DS version), players work to match and combo three or more of a like colored orb, which on the top screen translates into damage inflicted onto enemy monsters by your own team of monsters. Winning these battles will grant you coins and monster eggs, which, when hatched, can be fused with other monsters to level them up or evolve them. Puzzle & Dragons Z dials up the RPG aspect of the game, adding an overworld, characters, NPCs, and a story to play through. Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition does the same, except (as expected) with a Mario twist. Watch the trailer below:

Origa, a Russian singer best known for her work on Ghost in the Shell and Final Fantasy XIII-2, passed away yesterday from lung cancer at age 44. I haven't watched Ghost in the Shell or played XIII-2, but I have listened to some of the music from Ghost in the Shell via Pandora. Her work will be missed. Condolences to her loved ones as well.
Korra taking Asami to visit Iroh in their Spirit World adventure. All three of them having a tea party together. Korra bragging to Iroh about her girlfriend's inventions. Asami bragging to Iroh about her girlfriend's awesome accomplishments. Asami and Iroh playing Pai Sho against each other. Asami and Iroh trying to teach Korra how to play Pai Sho. Iroh entertaining both of them with embarrassing stories about Lord Zuko. Iroh showing Korra cool and useful Firebending forms while Asami sits back and enjoys the view.
As of yet untitled, a new Fire Emblem title was announced in today's Nintendo Direct. For the 3DS family, the game will see the return of several staff members from Fire Emblem: Awakening. The game will feature a new storyline and "asks players to make decisions that will affect the game's world in new ways." More details have yet to be announced.

(3DS) Yoshi's Wooly World (Wii U) Etrian Mystery Dungeon (3DS) Splatoon (Wii U) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS) Star Fox (Wii U) Any games you think or hope we might see?
Usually I can handle that just fine. But tomorrow will be the first time I actually go to an actual school since I finished high school in May 2013. For the 13-14 school year I did an online program, and yeah, the people on my area and age group had in - person meetings/class once a week, but that was really casual and not actual school. My class load feels light--I only have one class a day Monday and Tuesday, two a day Wednesday and Thursday, and none on Friday (it's community college; the classes amount to twelve credits for the semester) (it would have been more if the writing class I wanted that's required for practically every other writing course the school offers hadn't been full)--but I'm still feeling pretty anxious. And I know it's irrational, but knowing I don’t even have to be mentally/emotionally prepared until about 1 tomorrow, when my first class starts, isn't even helping. And did I mention that since I didn't even finish registering for classes until this last week, I haven't had a chance to visit the particular campus I'm going to (out of the school's five campuses) to even figure out where things are? tl;dr my first real college experience is tomorrow and I'm scared
I only ask this because of a Tumblr post I saw that created reasonable doubt for me. I do think it is possible that it's actually just Master Xehanort, however, as No Heart is an anagram of Xehanort without the X, and Xemnas wears this same armor in the end of KHII. But what do you guys think?

decided to make a new thread for this instead of taking over the etrian odyssey thread completely Etrian Mystery Dungeon, a collaboration between Atlus and Spike-Chunsoft, is a crossover game between the Etrian Odyssey series and the Mystery Dungeon series. This game takes the randomly-generated dungeons and related mechanics (and, unfortunately, the hunger mechanic) of the Mystery Dungeon series and blends them with the setting, character creation, classes, skill trees, giant terrifying enemies, and more from the Etrian Odyssey series for an experience that promises to be the best of both worlds. Spoiler: Available classes Etrian Odyssey Landsknecht - Your basic swordsman Protector - Essentially a paladin or tank Hexer - Lowers your opponent's stats and doles out status conditions Medic - Heals you Etrian Odyssey II Gunner - Long-range hard hitter Etrian Odyssey III Sovereign (formerly Prince/Princess) - Provides status buffs and healing while taking hard hits Ninja - Evasive speedster who offers support Etrian Odyssey IV Runemaster - The black mage, fighting with Fire, Ice, and Volt spells Dancer - Adequate fighter and buffs your stats Etrian Mystery Dungeon Wanderer - An homage to the Shiren the Wanderer Mystery Dungeon series. Offers Mystery Dungeon-related skills, including blowing away enemies and tunneling through walls As per the norm for Mystery Dungeon and as a change from Etrian Odyssey, all fights occur on the map as you travel, sometimes in Monster Houses where you enter a room and it immediately becomes filled with enemies. New to Mystery Dungeon, however, and adapted from Etrian Odyssey, are enormous on-field enemies called D.O.E.s (Dungeon-On Enemies), who serve essentially as mini-bosses that are to be avoided when possible, as they are typically several levels stronger than you when first encountered. Also, pre-orders and initial shipments of the game will come pre-packaged with a soundtrack CD, and the music of the Etrian Odyssey series is arguably one of its highest-acclaimed strengths. :3 Here's a pretty extensive livestream of the game Atlus held, for your viewing pleasure: The game will release in Japan on March 2, and in the US sometime in Spring. Discuss!
I have $40 burning a hole in my pocket. Trying to think if I should go buy one of the new Bionicle sets because fun and nostalgia, or if I should buy myself a 3DS game (probs Alpha Sapphire or Etrian Odyssey IV) because fun and I didn't get one for Christmas.
An anonymous member of the grand jury that failed to indict Darren Wilson for the murder of teenager Michael Brown is suing the prosecuting attorney from the case, Robert McCullouch. The juror, known only as Grand Juror Doe, takes issue with how McCullouch characterized the case. “In [the grand juror]’s view, the current information available about the grand jurors’ views is not entirely accurate — especially the implication that all grand jurors believed that there was no support for any charges,” the lawsuit says. “Moreover, the public characterization of the grand jurors’ view of witnesses and evidence does not accord with [Doe]’s own.” “From [the grand juror]’s perspective, the investigation of Wilson had a stronger focus on the victim than in other cases presented to the grand jury,” the lawsuit states. Doe also believes the legal standards were conveyed in a “muddled” and “untimely” manner to the grand jury. More info here.

For the uninitiated, Bee and Puppycat is a Youtube series from the creators of Adventure Time and Bravest Warriors. It follows Bee, a woman who has recently found herself jobless (yet again) and stumbles across a creature that looks more or less like a cat, but smells like a dog. She takes the aptly-named Puppycat into her home and is surprised when Puppycat turns out to be from another world. Together, they earn cash by doing odd jobs around space as given by the friendly Temp-Bot, while Bee explores her feelings for her friend Deckard, and Puppycat reflects on his mysterious past. There are three six-minute episodes, plus a pilot up on Youtube, with more to come.

Originally revealed for Europe to be bundled with pre-downloaded copies of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Crystal Red and Crystal Blue 2DS systems, harkening back to the days of the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance, will be available beginning November 21 for $99.99 each, $30 cheaper than the current 2DS price (possibly indicating a forthcoming price drop?). If you're looking to purchase a system from the 3DS family, this might be a good opportunity to save money while doing so. even though the New 3DS systems should be coming out sometime next year...
Figured I may as well make a thread for them. In the vein of Skylanders and Disney Infinity, Nintendo is releasing sets of figures of characters from their vast history of games that are compatible with various games for the Wii U (through the Gamepad) and the 3DS (through a separate peripheral, and through the bottom screen of the New 3DS). The only revealed figures thus far are meant to be compatible primarily with the Smash Bros. games, but will also have application in other games.
