I remembered this existed when I was browsing through the Writers' Nook, and I remembered how cool the project was, and how excited people were for it to happen. As far as I know, we got most of the screenplay divvied up (though I don't know how much got written) and had started working on character designs. But all in all, this is one of the things that was really super-exciting and cool, and it would pain me to just see it fall into the archives as a never fully-realized project. If we brought it back, I would be SO on board with helping flesh it out and stuff.

@Jayn and @Plums were the two people in charge, right? What are your thoughts on bringing this back?

Ever since the song was released, people have been covering "Let It Go" left and right. I wonder, which one(s) is your favorite?

For the poll, I only included the most popular viral ones (I excluded the Demi Lovato and multilingual versions because those are "official"), but you're welcome to post any other ones that you really liked!

Here are the five popular ones in the poll:

Alex Boyé & One Voice Children's Choir

    Caleb Hyles

    Christina Bianco

    Google Translate

    The Piano Guys

Welcome to my music thread! I always wanted to do one of these, but never had time or whatever. But anyway! Mostly (meaning about 99.99999% of the time) this is gonna be song covers, but maybe I could be persuaded to share some works in progress...? We'll see. But please please PLEASE don't expect lots of updates. I am lazy and also self-conscious.

For the foreseeable future, I'm going to be using
Audacity to both mix and record all of my music (I'm petitioning my parents for a microphone as a gift, unless I get a job first and just buy one myself), so quality won't be quite what I'd like it to be. Sorry about that.

Let's start things off, shall we?

First up is a recording I did in November of Utada Hikaru's
    Final Distance. Enjoy!

Constructive criticism on any of my music that I post would be greatly appreciated. c:

This is a fun thing I'm taking from another forum—and guess what? IT'S INTERACTIVE! YAAAAY!

Just generate a random number between 1 and 721: The number you get is the Pokédex number of a specific Pokémon. Write a haiku about it! (Reminder: A haiku, for our purposes here, is a three-line poem; the first line is comprised of five syllables, the second, seven syllables, and the third line, five again.)

Here are a few I've already done:

    Leavanny
    Gently folding leaves
    Natural origami
    Gifts for those in need

    Florges
    While the garden wilts,
    One flower stays bright and tall;
    The sprite keeps her home.

    Goomy
    Squish, slip, squelch, squeeze, smoosh:
    You won't suspect this goo-ball
    A mighty dragon.

    Stoutland
    Look at those whiskers!
They put Fu Manchu to shame!
    Such majesty! Wow!

So, there's this AMAZING Tubmlr blog called WriteWorld that posts writing tips, advice, and most importantly, writing prompts—they're usually pictures, sentences, or even songs. I've recently started responding to some of these prompts to work on my writing skills, and I felt like posting some of them here.

You can also find them on my Tumblr (see sig for link), under the tag #writeworld.

Alec had had the suitcase packed for months.

If you asked him why he didn't leave sooner then, he would only shrug, as if to say "I don't know." What he wouldn't say was how scared he had been to leave.

"I'll leave tomorrow," Alec would tell himself. "I'll leave in the morning, before he knows I'm gone, before he can find me." Morning would come. Alec would stay. Only in retrospect would he realize that he was scared of the unknown—the world outside of the dingy little shack, away from his uncle, all by himself. What if it wasn't what he thought? What if it was worse than—

Pain. Yelling. Useless! More pain, flashing light behind his eyes. You piece of garbage! More pain, a mangled scream. His own. You should never have been born! Sharp pain, then merciful blackness, nothing—

Finally, one morning, something...different. Alec felt different. He couldn't feel the bruises, the cuts, the pain. He sat up on his cot and listened. No noise but the birds and the wind.

Almost as if in a trance, he pulled the small suitcase from under the cot. It was the day. He quailed at the thought briefly, but the doubt was swallowed by this...this new feeling. It felt good. Comfortable. Calming. He didn't bother changing clothes from the night before. He stood, looked around one last time, then tiptoed out his bedroom door—

"Where do you think you're going?"

His uncle, big, angry, hung over, in the doorway. Alec clenched his jaw and tried to shove past. No luck. "You aren't going anywhere, you little brat!" A sloppy grab for his hair. Alec ducked under it and rushed through the new opening. There was the front door. He rushed into the kitchen and grabbed a coat, his uncle's, too big, and sprinted for the door. His uncle was there again, and mad. He brandished a kitchen knife. Alec froze. His uncle lunged, screaming. He missed—barely—and stumbled. Alec took the chance to slam the suitcase into his side. His uncle wheezed.

Alec ran. He ran like he'd never ran before. Out the front door, into the grass—wet! Cold! He looked down; he'd forgotten shoes. No time to go back. He kept running.

Cursing and shouting behind him. He didn't dare look back. More shouting, then quieter, then nothing. Breathing heavily, Alec turned around, standing on his tiptoes. His uncle slumped against the doorway, sitting, crying. Their eyes met. He was scared. Could he do it? Was this right? What would happen to his uncle, to him?

    And then the cursing returned.

Alec should have felt something...anger? Hate? Disgust? But, there was none of that. He felt...

    Pity.

Giving one last look at the old, rotting cabin, Alec turned his back on it. And walked.

The sky was grey. The wind was cold. There was fog in front of him. No way of knowing what was to come. But it was—strangely—all right.

He didn't turn back again. No more. He was done.

    Time to keep walking.[DOUBLEPOST=1358290013][/DOUBLEPOST]

Aaliyah pressed her hand against the cold observation window, staring. Words from a 250-year-old “science fiction” film sprang to mind: “They should have sent a poet.”

    “Enjoying the view?”

Aaliyah turned to find Captain Hathaway standing behind her, hands clasped behind his back. Words failing her, Aaliyah could only nod. Hathaway walked to the window, standing next to her. “Cronos,” he explained. “Approximately 96% of the planet’s surface is molten lava. Most people tend to give it a wide berth because of that, but it’s not doing anything to anyone. Those bits of rock and dust circling it are its rings.” He huffed. “You’d think that after hundreds of years of space travel and hundreds more of basic astronomy, people would realize that that’s all a planet’s rings are, rock and dust and empty space.”

“It’s beautiful,” Aaliyah breathed. “But…just those words don’t seem to fit.”

Hathaway grunted in response. “‘They should have sent a poet,’ right? Contact, 1985, Carl Sagan. Good book.”

Aaliyah blinked. “…It was a book?”

Hathaway rolled his eyes, but made no comment. “So, why aren’t you on the entertainment deck? It’s where all the other passengers like to spend their time.”

Aaliyah shrugged. “Well, the entertainment deck is fun,” she admitted. “But it feels a little empty, especially compared to this.” She gestured to the magnificent crimson orb. “This lasts so much longer and is so much more important than a go at the newest VR sim.”

Hathaway was quiet for a moment, his gaze lingering on the view of Cronos. “You’re a different one, kid,” he finally said. “You keep doing what you do.” He turned and walked back toward the bridge. Aaliyah backed away from the window a few steps and sat down, the window fully in her view. She was going to stay for a bit longer…

So, I made a thing based on that Square-Enix tech demo... o///o

Run run run run run run run!

The instinct rocketed through her veins, yet Agni found herself unmoving. She stared back at the ravaged compound. It was completely surreal; the Prophet had spoken for months about what good would be accomplished today. Where was that now?

The Behemoth rose from behind her and looked at her, almost expectantly. Agni considered her mangled arms, the tattered ceremonial robes, the dead Hunter, the Militia seeking her out. Her life, now that she thought about it, had completely hinged on the summoning of the Behemoth and the Prophet’s plans for it after the fact. Well, here was the Behemoth...

It dipped its head at her, then lowered its body. It wasn’t...?

Uncertainly, Agni approached the Behemoth. No response. She placed a hand on its hide. Nothing. With a grunt of pain, she managed to pull herself onto the Behemoth’s back. It stood back to its full height, seeming pleased, and Agni couldn’t help but smile.

Well... If there was anywhere to find answers to her questions, it would have to be in the city. It was where the Prophet had come from and, more pressingly, it was where the Militia wasn’t. Before Agni could point in the city’s direction, the Behemoth leapt from the ground and began soaring into the west. Towards the glittering black skyscrapers of the city.

Her whole life, Agni had always depended on someone else’s philosophy. Now it was time to find her own.

I dunno, it's just a thought I had. I guess this is really Jayn's domain, but I thought it would be really cool if, since KHVC is a rather big part of the forum, their stuff was added to the Radio playlist for people to listen to--not just the Full Chorus stuff, but Duet Roulette and Karaoke Night songs, too.

I apologize again if this is something that belongs in the Chorus section, but I felt that this was more relevant to the site as a whole.
