Refer to the Secret Ansem Reports..... But basically Kairi lost her heart, she had strong emotions so a Nobody was created, but she had no Darkness (though I don't see how that really ties into her being a Nobody fundamentally). She also did not get an X in her name because, like someone else already posted, she did not JOIN Organization XIII. (But she was still their tool.)
Agreed, however this doesn't mean that they cannot act similiar. Case and Point, Xemnas and Xehanort's Heartless. Namine and Roxas are stated to be exceptions....but only Nomura really knows. Also I think the "Nobodies are the emotional shells" of a person typically drives people to believe that they ARE "the same person". :\
(I'm probably not the best person to comment on this, but I'll make the best of it.) The main beef with rules from so long ago is that THEY do not change, but rather the people around them that interprets them changes. Another thing to consider from the 10C is that they were written in a time where not everyone was literate, which of course meant passing the 'word' by voice and whatnot. People also weren't that terrible techincal. We humans have a tendency to manipulate rules in our favor whenever possible by playing on the ignorance of others. Now as for the current day 10C.....course its a load of BS, it should be abolished from anywhere that is publically part of the community except from maybe the "happy homes of fundies" (because really people should all be allowed their cup of tea as long as they are harmless). And then there is of course the (one of my favorites actually) possibility that whoever "wrote" the bible was not a very logical person or group of people, whichever. -I would name examples but I'm sure someone would be offended, and we can't have that (FOR FEAR OF DEATH). Lastly, as you already know, but I'll state it anyway...its "unconstitutional" for any public school to publically "favor" or try to lean kids into any religion. Course that works better on paper then it does in practice. :\
The idea is pretty good in my opinion and makes more sense for people to become premium users (rewards system after all) if they really want a custom title. Anyway, already submitted mine....but I have a feeling that some of the ones I submitted were a bit too long. o_o
(Migration complete I suppose.) Once more I find common ground with the evolution side in this debate. Not only from the variety of evidence produced in science's favor but the lack of reasonable logic on many of the creationism's parts. However for now this is all I can really say on such a 'clean slate' debate. I'm usually one more prone to react to other's statements rather then stating every detail of my own on the first go..... 8P
This topic has always interested as it has irked me.... I also have a contradictory understanding of why the more...zealous believers of a certain religion take a book so seriously. No where in the book does it prophesize any sort of 'true' end or savior in RELATION TO REALITY (not directly, interpretation is dependent on the individual). Taking the Harry Potter books as a sort of religious text makes little sense in many regards. As a simple parallel it would be saying to take every fable and fairy-tale literally- you don't take the characters seriously, but you give each and every moral a thought or two. (IE: King Midas and the Golden Touch) And really, any person who says that the spells are "real", care to broaden your foreign language? Specifically LATIN, you will see similiarities in the words. Now a part I DO NOT understand about the relgion bashing of Harry Potter is why OTHER fictional books are not bashed so massively on scale. Some examples would be Lord of the Rings (wizardry, enough said) and any of the Narnia (they have TALKING ANIMALS IN THERE and if you squint, minor pagan references) books, or any of HG Wells Books (albeit they're science fiction, but given how much religion seems to hate the concept of EVOLUTION among other things...) to this PRESENT day. Or did I miss a news memo on this? Anyway, spontaneously back on topic: I think the reasoning for religion bashing that I somewhat understand is that Harry Potter was a world-wide phenomenon. However, because there were relatively no violent outbreaks of anything given its scale, its rather easy to dismiss as just another symptom of popularity. (Reference to how some zealous parents reacted to things like Pokemon- the non-seizure inducing related- apprehension to it.) (Sorry if my post doesn't make enough sense, just got back from a trip and I'm not exactly in my right mind....)
The idea behind Recess is that it is a happy "requisite" and establishes a sort of rule. "Work for a reward". At least that's how I see it in my mind. As for the teachers getting a break, that isn't entirely true, they could just swap the teachers off without having a recess. Think of it like an extra class like Art or Music or even a Sport....something like that. Does that make anymore sense? o_o
I was more arguing that Recess is a "class" of sorts as well and of course there are people who are shy or have really filled or troubled lives at home to actually socialize. I know of and even have friends who prefer being at school to home becuase their families are, for lack of a better phrasing, psychologically abusive. But in my opinion, recess as a whole shouldn't be taken away, but "time-outs" are necessary for those who do something wrong. I even think that having a "community service" of sorts for those who may have deserved a time-out from recess would actually help to prevent further rule-breaking. (Better now then for something they could be thrown into jail for.) (PS I thought you argued it was a privilage. o_o)
Repliku has done an excellent job in stating what really needs to be said. :] Recess is actually vital in terms of a child's development because during this time they are devolping the heavily neglected Emotional IQ (basically maturity mentally). By having recess DAILY at school they are learning what "cannot be taught" in a conventional classroom. True, recess is not perfect, it has its bullies and it can be distracting, but in the long run it is for their benefit. Some sort of break would be necessary in between learning anyway. Considering the time spent at school, it is almost a "required" break time. How the children spend it however is entirely at their whim. Recess is also (if supervised properly) a very good way of helping children become acquainted with how "society" works as well as helps them build vital social skills. It is true that recess is also a time when children can also be the most harmed (the kid sitting on the corner of the playground by themselves) but in a sense it is something that cannot be really controlled....its really up to the adults and parents to help remedy this before something negative happens to the child in terms of their growth. Bottomline: Recess is an opportune "mandatory" way of helping children interact. Recess is almost a class in on itself but without grades and is entirely important on the mental state of a growing person. (Sorry that was kind of rhetorical...)
Which man would this be? Do tell us a man who is ACTUALLY HERE on this EARTH to this DAY. None of this "well he lived and died". Which leads me to another thing to be note, you never did reply as to WHY Satan was able to convince 1/3rd of the heavenly host to LEAVE "everlasting happiness". Methinks this promised happiness wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Back on topic, we can trust "a man who looks at stuff" because we can PROVE what he finds OURSELVES. After all, this same "man who looks at stuff" is what has yielded all of the technology we use to this day. If you still question how we can trust this "looking man" to the "promising man", think of which one has actually held up his end of the bargain thus far. :\ As for your other "throw out there" iPraise, its called "Intelligent Design" as Repliku has already noted. :\
I am destined to die the second I am born. If that is what you mean by destiny, then I cannot control that aspect. However, everything in between life and unavoidable death is really just a matter of luck and choice and how I handle the results of whatever choices I make or whatever befalls me. People who blame things on fate however should really get their heads out of the denial bin.
You do know what qualifies as a bestseller correct? It is a specific quantity reached, now given how long the Bible has been around, that is nothing too considerable impressive. Other "popular" religious texts have similiar "best seller" bragging rights. :\
I respect your points and your views, however one must question, what "drives" someone to be homosexual? As mentioned somewhere previously, it has been found that a specific hormone found in the brain (typcically found in what designates "sexuality") are the OPPOSITE hormones occupying the brain tissue. (ie: A hormone typically found in female brains is in a much larger quantity in the male's brain and vice-versa.) Given that many times, homosexuals are not treated kindly, why would they volunteer to show who they are? Same for your "former homosexuals" comment, some people will sacrifice a part of themselves so that they won't be hated constantly. So really, what is the greater evil here? This "taboo" attraction or lying to the world and your soul? And what is so wrong with this kind of love anyway? I thought love was a univesal, intangible thing? Love comes from the soul not the body doesn't it? Why should something as boundless as that ultimate of love be restricted just because of a mere chromosone of difference?
That would be a respectable christian 8D. But yes, I agree with you (well I think a lot of people would actually) about that issue. Makes you wonder what even got people to act like that in the first place (crusading/converting and all) and share a similar sort of dislike for those who think that heaven is some sort of country club where only *insert name of the respective relgious believer* get to go regardless of their previous behavior.
You don't take every book you've read LITERALLY. And it IS just a damn book! A book is a collection of papers/documents with TEXT. In fact the "book" known as the Bible is a "WORLD WIDE SELLER" (exactly like the other BOOKS of our times). Doctors have healed through medicine and knowledge (YEARS OF HARD, DEDICATED STUDY I MIGHT ADD). People are healed from their own bodies' regenerative powers (aka CELLUAR PRODUCTION/REPLACEMENT). And by beliefs, you mean the religous arguement and the scientific notiion? In that case I must heavily disagree. Relgion came out of the blue, science came from following a series of logical questions and answers that could be *gasp* REPLICATED FOR OTHERS TO UNDERSTAND AND BELIEVE (whereas religion CAN NOT). :\
Squeenix Meteria/Mako Brand TM'd! Because only something genetically engineered could possibly do that. :\
Well, of course it's unfair. However, despite being a part of the Bible, a vast majority of the believers tend to "pick and choose" what to take literally and such. Apparently they can also "adapt" certain parts of the Bible to match the times, but never on any of most seemingly foolish lines. (see Creationism vs Evolution and other such arguments) :\
Because some people are self-serving, are too questioning, are too predictable in their unpredicatability. Peace is catagorized as something that is controlled and a unified effort, chaos is the exact opposite. Anyway, I wish we could go back to that time as well. When people did nice things for the betterment of the world and such. Worse comes to worse, at least I'll have people I have something in common with to talk to.
*Laughs at how late this post was found by self* I thought so....I didn't like how iPraise really ran things either -bad memories from the whole Debate Forum and...oh the grammar....- But I agree with what some others said, if enough people gripe about it not being there, can it be brought back? I'd be more than happy to help (though that might not mean much) along with any of the others you may appoint. But eh, its all up to the staff really. 8D
I always thought Zexion was desperate for approval because in my mind he's the "little kid who wants to be a grown up" (even though I usually age him as 22-23 lol) and he is the only one notably mentioned as interacting with Ansem the Wise and Xehanort (the two main "leaders" if you get my drift). He also acts extremely different and very....fake, even to people who are supposed to be his "comrades" (yet he pays utmost respect to Xemnas and his "privacy" and such). Haha, but that's just my skewed thought process. And as for the other point...I don't trust the manga too much given...some of the things that happen in there that aren't exactly canon to the game (not the extras obviously, but the main story things).
