Hay Sun spent the day forcibly cooped up in her room while Jun Tae went out and did Jun Tae-things, where he was gone for several hours. When he had come back with bloodstains on his clothing, well, she decided not to ask.

Tomorrow, he told her, she could remove her bandages and start walking around, and she couldn't wait because it meant some good training to get back on her feet and challenge him. Before, she had never thought about how bad it would be having him around constantly as he was now, but it was probably a lot better in her imagination than this. He was such an asshole.

At least he didn't snore in his sleep. Whatever he had left the hotel to do that day must've worn him out because she watched him go into the shower, come out dressed in night clothes, check his phone for about twenty minutes, and then called it a night. He was a night owl, unlike her, but . . . It was weird, seeing such a douche sleep so peacefully, especially when that douche was a mega-douche and was her brother.

She didn't know when things had become so shitty between them, but she hoped this whole 'save the world' gig would help them out. Not that she'd ever admit it.

Slipping under the covers herself, Hay Sun yawned, and then closed her eyes.

It was annoying as hell for Hay Sun to be mothered over about her damned leg that was already feeling universes better, compared to when the adrenaline from escaping from the whorehouse wore off. She couldn't stand the thought or to see others worrying about her in such a paternal way because it brought back unpleasant/pleasant memories that she never seemed to be able to escaped. A part of her hoped that being with asshole-Jun Tae would lessen some of the angst, but even he seemed to worry and care for her in his dumb, convoluted way.

Now she was spread out on one of the beds in the the shared-with-her-brother room, laying on her back and staring at the ceiling that seemed miles away. ❝I'm surprised to let her use your phone.❞ she commented.

Jun Tae was sitting in a recliner in the corner, tapping away at his laptop. His initial reply was a simple shrug of the shoulders that Hay Sun didn't see, and she scowled, turning her head to look at him only to find that he was staring back. Okay, that wasn't expected. ❝Is there something on my face?❞ she asked, almost snapping.

Beside that repulsive mouth of yours?❞ he retorted, and she came to a sitting position to jump out of bed and strangle him. He shook his head and she felt like she was willed to sit back down. ❝Your leg is still injured.❞

Hay Sun was lying on her back again, staring at him more. ❝You know you can't restrain me for long.❞ she told him, almost conversationally.

    You let yourself think that.

. . . Man, she really couldn't stand this guy. ❝Reeeeeed . . . ❞ she complained out loudly, her voice echoing off the walls, ❝Get this asshole away from me before I kill him.❞ She moved to flip to her side, and Jun Tae resumed to type at his computer.

Once upon a time, a team of basketball prodigies rose to the top by demolishing all competition. This team became known as the Generation of Miracles, as they are all in the same year group and they were considered children of miracle. After junior high school ended, these five stars went to different high schools with top basketball teams. However, a fact few people know is that there was another player accompanying the Generation of Miracles, a Phantom Sixth Man. This mysterious player is now a freshman at Seirin High, a new school with a powerful, yet little-known, team. Now, Tetsuya Kuroko, the sixth man formerly with the Generation of Miracles, and Taiga Kagami, a naturally talented player who spent most of junior high school in America, are aiming to bring Seirin to the top of Japan, taking on Kuroko's old teammates one by one.

I was only half-surprised to not have seen a thread for Kuroko no Basuke, mostly because it's not as popular as I thought it was, considering it has a great story and is really emotionally charged. It, like most other shounen manga and anime, has a extremely basic base of a boy who wants to become the strongest by defeating other strong opponents, but here, we have a pair of boys, and their basketball team that want to rise to the top – which, for sports manga isn't all that unbelievable, and is rather typical.

Kuroko Tetsuya is an unusual protagonist for a few reasons; he already has a defined position and name among the community as a mystery and so doesn't have to fight his way to the top. He doesn't have an over-the-top personality that makes him stick out, and instead is actually plain to the point where it's ridiculous and has a weak presence. Instead he finds a friend and teammate in the ostentatious Kagami Taiga, who feels like he's the opposite of Kuroko in just about every way.

. . . As the story goes on, it just seems like it's basketball, basketball, basketball – and it is, don't get me wrong, but it's so much more than that as Kuroko's former teammates are revealed one by one. It gets dramatic and emotional, and the reader discovers that there's a hell of a lot more behind Kuroko than meets the eye. I could go on and on about this because I find it so amazing that a sports manga could be so . . . affecting. The thing about it is, the manga still finds a way to be dominated by the very thing that ties it all – the characters, the stories, the pasts, the futures – together ( basketball ) while still having all these other things going on and on.

Every arc, every episode reveals new characters that all have their unique quirks and no two are the same, which makes relationships among said GIANT CAST OF CHARACTERS really interesting and fun to watch. Each of them is likable in their own way, and you might find yourself becoming OBSESSED attached to any one of them rather quickly, regardless of their roles. THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, I HAVE TO GIVE A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO BECAUSE HOT DAMN, THAT'S SOME SERIOUS SHIT, YO. can we also just look at aomine and kuroko pls omg I JUST WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY. Although it seems like some of the supporting characters are kind of ignored, you have to remember that there are sooo many other things and major characters, and that the story isn't about ~ them ~. For what they're given, they're elaborated on pretty well, though I guess a little more could be given. Then again, the manga would probably be five times as long if that was given room – I'm getting off topic.

I'm praising it so much – could we have someone whose read it actually critique it's faults? I'm too bias to find any, herka. I guess if I had to give something, it might be that it's unrealistic by a few stretches, but it's nothing so completely unimaginable where they're all superheroes and shoot lasers from their eyes. It's more that for their ages, how are they so skilled? It makes you wonder how they would play if they were in the NBA or another professional league, and if they could match skills and wits. Although they have a lot of growing up to do, the main characters seem far mature beyond their ages. Their skills are also another thing; if you take a character like Aomine Daiki, or Akashi Seijuurou, then you know that they're definitely . . . out there. This was actually elaborated on a little by explaining the faults and restrictions of their physical bodies, which I thought was neat. ANYWAY.

I think another thing I could shed a little criticism on is how dramatic it is. I was thinking about this recently, but for middle school kids, the Generation of Miracles was really . . . pigheaded and basically, what their behavior comes down to is a severe case of the popular term 'chuunibyou', or 'middle school second-year syndrome'. Although I know they became badasses at such an early age, that doesn't really warrant their shitty behavior and becoming-shit personalities, and this applies to all of the Generation of Miracles. The drama that surfaced was from their egos and I guess since they were so young, something like that couldn't really be avoided? Still, when looked at from another point of view that is less infatuated from the overall product of the story, the drama does seem a little overdone, but then again, I guess it can't be a great story without drama.

The anime is just a little less stellar than the overall product of the manga, but it's still amazing in its own right that the animation and visuals are really fantastic, especially when it comes to the actual basketball games. CGI is heavily incorporated because it makes things easier and more flexible for the animators, but that's fine because it's apart of the charm, I guess. Seeing players like Kagami Taiga and Aomine Daiki play in games feels really amazing because the animation is so flawless and smooth, it's nuts.

Even if things are a little out of hand ( how can high school basketball players DO THIS ??? ? ? ???? ?? ), that's one of the things that makes watching it so much fun. Even if you don't like basketball, it has more to offer than just the sport itself, where, like most well-written stories, you can grow with the characters and feel with them. The anime makes the already-dynamic story even more engaging with the fact that you can actually watch them move.

Having read the manga first, I can say the anime leaves a little to be desired, but I'm really hoping that it will be made up for with the second season, which starts on October 5th! If the praise of the story and animation isn't enough to tempt you, then I'm just going to have to pull out . . . the music. The soundtrack of a series like this feels so unexpected and amazingly fitting, despite it sounding out of place on its own, and makes you think what the hell this doesnt belong in a sports anime water they doIN.

But seriously! Even if you're not into basketball, give it a try and I really hope that you won't regret it. Kuroko no Basuke is a manga and anime that I seriously recommend for all to read/see. As always, here's the first opening.

BASICALLY; HIGHLY RECOMMEND, DON'T DISOBEY. READ IT/WATCH IT.

Oh, jesus christ. Thank you. I felt really embarrassed while reading it, but ahhh, it feels so great when someone actually critiques work and explains their thoughts. I wish I spared time to do the same for the others.

Each of them had their good points, but I think, from the samples and previous endeavors, I'll vote for Ash. Really wonderful jobs, everyone.

THERE was little room left for discussion on the new group's goal after Hana stopped talking at the café, and since Leo wasn't the leader of the operation for once, he had no objections to it, but would, as always, seek a best way to benefit himself [ and Hay Sun, if he absolutely had to ] from the situation.

What Hana had said about Samuel made him laugh. He had no doubt in his mind that a first match between the two of them would be his victory, simply because he was more clever. There was no argument that, by far, Abbadon was more powerful than he was, but without control, power was nothing. A reckless, destructive machine would always be reckless and destructive.

There was a hotel near the hospital that looked expensive, but fifteen minutes spent on his phone had a ridiculous amount of money wired to an Italian bank account under an obscure alias, and then two cabs were picking them up from the restaurant. As soon as they got there, Leo booked them for the night and split the rooms as so; he and Hay Sun, Hana and Cassandra, and then Brandon got his own room, though it was connected to the room Hay Sun and he shared.

Don't be idiotic. Leo had told him before closing the door for the night.

After setting his bag down in the corner of the room and changing into pajamas, he told the pilot of the jet about their trip to England tomorrow. Hay Sun was uncommonly quiet; he at least expected her to raise hell once they were alone, or try to kill him. To his surprise, after she had changed into her own pajamas he provided, she had climbed into bed and was asleep.

He stood up from the chair in the corner and set his phone on the nightstand between their beds. One long look at her face made him sigh. Leo couldn't remember the last time they had slept in the same room. Whenever it was, it was before their mom died, and after that, he had moved out of the house, out of Paris, out of France. Truth be told, he couldn't quite remember the reason, but it had something to do with Hana's first visit. That knowledge gave him something to focus on, something to work for, and it kept him from despairing over their beloved mother's passing.

    He really did miss her.

Leo didn't know what Hay Sun was expecting out of him, but things weren't going to be sparkles and rainbows between them, maybe not ever. They would simply have to settle for having a mutual understanding of watching each other's backs.

He changed into night clothing, and then climbed into bed. He wasn't tired, but he closed his eyes anyway.

It was still difficult to tell if she was actually looking at a mirage of her older brother, or if he was actually there. A part of her actually thought that maybe she wasn't just shot in the leg and was now in a coma. It's not like she was happy to see the douchebag or anything as much as she was relieved. The last she heard, he was involved in some pretty dangerous stuff. It was also the train of thought that he might have come because he was worried, but she blew that thought off with a huff.

They couldn't stand each other. And 'Uriel', seriously ? The sound of him calling her that was repulsive and made her want to stomp his fucking face in. He could have at least called her Mickey or something . . . Still, she felt it, and it scared her. How the hell was he like her, and she never knew about it? How long had he known that they were the same? When she looked up at Red, it seemed like Jun Tae knew her; had they met before? It bothered her, somehow.

Hay Sun didn't like not being in the know, but when it came to Jun Tae, she was always anything but. He never told her anything and was a complete mystery to her, which now, in context of everything, made sense. Raziel, the Angel of Mysteries, who woulda guessed . . .

If she wasn't confined to this damned wheelchair, she'd get up and clock him, but Red was annoyingly adamant about her not standing on her damaged leg. It was fine, jeez. It'd probably heal up in a few days or something, since that usually happened with all of her wounds.

So,❞ she began casually, the undertone of her voice clearly irate, ❝where've you been stashed up all these years?❞ If there was anything she could do now, it was ask him as many questions as possible because she knew it bugged the shit out of him. He still had his shades on, but she could tell that his eyes were narrowing.

Asia.❞ he replied shortly. Of course he would give the most vague reply ever. It was annoying as hell.

I guess I was right when I thought you were cuddled up in Siberia.❞ she told him, her tone smug.

He leaned back in the chair at the table they had come to. ❝I have to hide from enemies somehow.❞ he replied simply.

Goddamn, she hated him so much. ❝I hope you didn't come just to be a snarky asswipe.❞ she snapped.

Jun Tae coughed an sarcastic laugh, ❝I'm fairly sure that it takes one to know one, but you're right. I'll fill you in more later – ❞ He glanced around at the rest of the group with a caution that only came when he didn't want to be open in that way that he was probably the most secure human in the entire world, ❝ – when we're less public. I tracked you down here and just flew in from Norway.

. . . Hay Sun thought he had said Asia, unless he was suddenly a complete failure at world geography. Ugh, she didn't even know with him anymore, but if she had to really guess where he had been holed up for at least five years, it was probably South Korea. They had relatives there too, but she had to admit, her and her brother weren't ones for family.

Please forgive me for not giving Akasha back to you sooner Jun Tae – . . . ❞ Hay Sun glanced over at Red who insisted on her staying in this damned wheelchair and listened to what she said. The last time she had been to France? So they had met before. Fucking hell, how long did Jun Tae know about what they were? And who the hell was Akasha?

Normally, my loyalties lie with the highest bidder; surely you of all people can understand.❞ he said simply, ❝However, due to circumstances, I can't be swayed by things that benefit me, regardless of how troublesome what I'm looking after is.❞ Hay Sun scoffed, wanting to wring his neck.

Pretty soon, Red was explaining everything that happened. There were various points were Jun Tae shifted, but for the most part, the douche looked like he just completely didn't give a shit. When Red was done, she looked at Hay Sun's brother expectantly. It was quiet for a few long moments. ❝Well, say something asshole.❞ Hay Sun snapped.

He sighed, ❝I wonder what dad would say if he found out you ran off with your lover.

Things stopped. Low. Fucking. Blow. Her eyes widened and before she knew it, she was standing up (holyfuckingsonofabitchthathurtlikehellOUCH ) with her fist full of his shirt. ❝Watch it.❞ she threatened. He shrugged and pinched her wrist, setting her back in her seat immediately with her arm just going completely limp and numb. Jesus fucking Christ, what the fuck was wrong with him?

You really are an idiot.❞ he told her, and she pretty much just wanted to stab him. He looked back at Red, ❝I can't say I'm sold on providing assistance, although I know how beneficial it would be for you if I did come along. You are acquainted with my past with the Dark Angels and so I would be endangering myself and my rambunctious sister, which is not in my best interests.❞ She rolled her eyes. ❝For the time being, I'll tag along, but I want you to heel your boyfriend. I won't hesitate to kill him. He may be powerful, but he might as well be a hellhound with his brains.

Boyfriend? Hay Sun had no idea who he was talking about. ❝You talk too much.❞ she muttered, and then looked at Red. This was complete shit that she had no idea about any of this family-angel shit before going to Mexico. Why the hell did Jun Tae get to know before she did? And why the fuck did Red tell her that he was an angel, too? ❝What now?

The flight to Rome from Stavanger was a mere two hours. As soon as Leo had boarded, he knew something was amiss; curiosities and mysteries never lasted long with him, mostly because he was mystery. At first, he had thought someone after the large bounty on his head had boarded the jet with him, but that was quickly dismissed as soon as he scouted the area.

. . . Instead what he found was a teenage boy who had managed to stow away. And of course, of all people – angels – it had to be Barachiel. It wasn't the first time he'd pulled a stunt on Raziel, and he somehow doubted it would be the last. Nonetheless, it was irritating and Leo wondered if he should throw him off the plane. For a flashy angel like him, he sure had a weak presence. It reminded Leo of a character in a manga he had once read. Unfortunately, before he could make the jet-dropping decision, he found them landing in Rome.

If you're going to tag along, Leo began as he was leaving the jet [ he didn't let Barachiel know that he had ever found him ], then don't lag behind. I will leave you here.

When they had reached the main streets of the giant city and were standing in front of a fountain with people surrounding them, Leo pulled out his phone and it immediately leeched information. Insurance, he decided to call it, just in case there was anyone around that he knew or that knew him. When there was nothing out of the ordinary, he pulled up the location of the hospital. Why did you come along anyway? Leo asked, This isn't some recruiting mission. You're mistaken if you think I'm anything like Xathanael.

It was mostly said in passing as they caught a taxi to the hospital. They were dropped off across the street from the large building with many passersby. He briefly wondered if he should take the chance to slip away from Barachiel. They walked into the building and he immediately spotted a head of fiery red hair.

Jun Tae. Brandon? His eyes traveled to the area next to her, where his sister and Metatron were. She was in a wheelchair. He made his way towards the trio of girls, and his first instinct was to slam Hay Sun for idiocy and then greet Hana. Instead, he found himself tracing Hay Sun's extremely present [ it was so strong, it was annoying ] Glamour.

She stared at him with disbelieving eyes, and once he had finally pinpointed a familiarity, he returned the expression.

    Uriel?

    Jun Tae?

Their words overlapped each other. She snorted and tried to stand from the wheelchair – to deck him, no doubt. So that was great. His sister really was an angel – of course, and she just so happened to turn out to be an archangel. That was just dandy. They were right when the said idiots don't feel pain. he told her in a cool tone and she glared at him. Your leg is damaged. You should stay off of it.

She seemed to mutter something to the tone of Like you care.

Leo turned to Hana. I met up with your crew of cherubs. he told her, And also retrieved Akasha, and Luria as well. He reached into his bag and pulled out the wand-shaped, ridiculously ostentatious weapon that hummed to him with rejection, but yearned for its original owner. He handed it to Hana. I haven't been keeping up with the other-worldly shenanigans, do you care to fill me in on everything? He glanced down at Hay Sun who was still glaring at him. . . . Some place less obvious. Brandon stowed away on the jet, so he's here with me.

PATIENCE was a virtue, Michael had always told him, in the ironic way that Michael wasn't patient at all, but with Abbadon being the feral beast he was and Azazel so out of character, being a fragile rabbit . . .

    Well . . . For one . . . Th - The other two that were t - t - taken are named Cassandra and H - Hay Sun.

Leo stopped listening, and his bag dropped at his side. It was one thing for Hana to be taken, since she could definitely take care of herself [ or apparently not ], but for Hay Sun – his sister, that was apparently under Hana's supervision – to be kidnapped, too, that was something entirely different. Jesus Christ, for all he knew, she could be halfway around the world by now, abandoned or probably dead. At the very least, violated. If she really was an angel, then that also could have meant something even worse – she was in Lucifer's hands.

It was at that moment that half of Scandinavia was almost destroyed.

    . . . b - bag . . . all o - of the things.

Bingo. Akasha was definitely in that bag. He almost left the room at that moment, but then Samuel began to talk. Calming himself, he listened to the exchange and discovered that Hay Sun and the other two were in Rome, and that – She got shot? Christ, it's one thing to be kidnapped, but this is ridiculous. His voice was quiet, barely audible. It probably couldn't all be blamed on Hana, Hay Sun had always had a penchant for getting into trouble of the violent and deadly kind.

He listened to Samuel explain their situation. . . . A brothel. he repeated, and then ran a hand through his hair. They were kidnapped, and taken . . . to a whorehouse. Okay, well that was just dandy. He wondered what dad was thinking when he just let Hay Sun slip on down to Mexico, of all places, and what damned sense Hay Sun had going in the first place about this whole thing.

Leo was just about ready to level all of Italy, if it meant finding Hay Sun and give her a good talking to – in which case, he meant beating the life out of her for being so ridiculously dumb, and then he'd take care of the punks that kidnapped her in the first place.

. . . I still wanna know who the hell you are. What's your name. Not your human one.

Leo peered through the darkly-tinted lenses of his shades at Samuel and narrowed his eyes. I advise you to not ask me so many questions. he said simply, pulling out his phone, and then dialing a number. He walked away from the pair and towards the window, waiting to be answered. Bao, I need you to tap into the surveillance of every hospital in Lazio, Italy, and concentrate on Rome and its neighboring cities as well.

Holy hell Leo, where are you?

Bao. Leo said sharply, and he visualized Bao putting up his hands in defense.

Alright man, chill out. I'm on it.

He left the call running and turned back to pair, and then touched his pendant again. Don't bother showing me where the bag is, I can find it. He picked up his own bag from the ground, and then began to leave the room. Raziel, by the way. he told the two before stepping into the hallway.

The stabbing of the necklace was ever-growing and eventually, Leo was standing in front of another door. The phone vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out, sliding it between his neck and shoulder, bending down in front of the lock to the door. He'd knock, but he didn't have time for that. After hooking up a small device to the card access, the door clicked open and Leo quietly slipped into the room.

There was a sleeping mess on the bed that he didn't care about, but recognized as Ambriel. He peered around the floor, and eventually found the bag. The sting of his necklace suddenly stopped, and when he reached in and pulled out, there it was.

He smiled. Akasha. It resonated warmly with him, as if greeting him back. The box was a deep purple color made of a whisp-like fabric that was so soft to the touch, it might have been nonexistent. A breath of relief escaped him, and he murmured a small incantation, and voilà, Akasha was in his hand once more, having taken the shape of a fencing sabre.

Leo slipped the box into his bag and then left the room, the sleeping person unbothered, and stepped out into the hallway, putting his phone up to his ear. As soon as he did, directions were given to him about the hospital and its location. He walked back to the room where Joslyn and Samuel were, I found them. he said shortly, tapping at the smooth screen of his phone, and then he glanced at the two, I'm going to Rome now. Until then.

Without so much as a wave, Leo began walking off, heading back towards the jet that had brought him to Norway.

    YES, this definitely wasn't the Azazel that had tried to strangle him during the first World War. I . . . I don't know who you are . . . b - but she isn't here . . . Sh - She got k - kidnapped along with t - two others that were w - w - with us . . .

. . . He sighed. What did she think she was doing, getting herself kidnapped? If he didn't know better, she had grown useless. It was either that, or she didn't have Luria with her. That sort of helplessness that was provided by not having their swords with them was something he had grown to dislike, especially since it had caused him trouble during the Boxer Rebellion.

Wh - Who are you anyways?

It was disappointing that Azazel couldn't tell who he was, and it made him wonder what sort of ragtag gang Xathanael pulled together. If they couldn't even trace glamours, this was a serious issue. I told you, my name is Leo. There was no reason for her to know otherwise, especially if she couldn't figure it out on her own. He wasn't very inclined to tell her anything else anyway.

Before either of them could say anything else, there was a knock on the door, and a rough male voice asking for Joslyn. She walked over and addressed someone by the name of "Sam". It wasn't very long before his eyes traced up to Leo, and then he sighed upon hearing the rough question. He couldn't stand Abbadon to save his life. His hand trailed up to the pendant again and felt, but Akasha wasn't on the con's person.

I'd ask you the same thing, but I already know who you are, Abbadon. Or Samuel Rivera, if you prefer. he said, and then turned his attention on Joslyn again, moving on to ignore Samuel. Who were the other two kidnapped? Do you know where they were taken?

If Hana was gone, then his sword was gone, too. But that didn't make sense, since the pendant clearly stated otherwise. Did that mean something of hers was left behind? Do you have anything of Hana's with you?

ALTHOUGH the actual wait wasn't very long, Leo felt like he had been standing in that hallway forever. It was probably because he was anxious about getting his hands back on Akasha, and could barely stand the thought of her being with anyone else who she didn't even belong to.

After an insurmountable amount of time, the door opened and Leo peered down at a smaller girl. He complexion was an albino's and he took a moment to trace her Glamour. His eyes widened; Azazel. Jesus Christ, what Xathanael think she was doing carrying around Lucifer's red-rimmed target? He sighed.

    Uuummm. . . Ca - Can I . . . Can I h - help you?

Her voice was small, frail. Leo almost laughed because this was definitely not the Azazel he remembered. This girl was small and innocent, where the Azazel he knew had tried to seduce him at least once every lifetime or so, if they came across each other.

May I come in? he asked her, and was then let through. He walked into the hotel suite and found that it was way beyond ridiculously luxurious. He hated it immediately. Sorry for the intrusion. My name is Leo. he told her, adding the politeness. He wondered which country she was from in this round. Americans didn't really understand or use the politeness that traveled heavily in Asia and spoke volumes.

He placed his fingers onto his black pendant and it stung him immediately; Akasha was definitely close, but she wasn't in this room. He turned on the small girl. It's good to see you again, Azazel. he told her, I suppose you prefer Joslyn. Is Hana around? She has something of mine.

THE flight had been comfortable and gave Leo time to sort through his leaving Korea and everything that would be going on while he was gone. He somehow had a feeling that he wouldn't be going back for a long time, but that was fine, he supposed. Bao and the others could last a little while without him, but he threatened to maim every last one if he came back to a wrecked system; it was hard to trust others to do what you could do perfectly yourself.

The personal flight attendant of the jet woke him up just before they were landing, and he checked on the status of things, and then the obsidian pendant that resonated with Akasha. It stung his fingers whenever he touched it, and the closer Akasha was, the more pain he felt. It was a bit foolish, and Hephaestus had berated him for using something so foolish, but he had kept the pendant with him throughout his many lives and it was his tracker to Akasha. He wouldn't be getting rid of it any time soon.

Leo was now in a city-like area with many buildings surrounding him and people passing him on the streets without paying a second thought. He touched the pendant again and felt the stinging of millions of tiny little needles, as if it were a jellyfish. For at least an hour, Leo wandered the streets, heading in the direction that began to actually draw blood, and before he knew it, he was standing in front of a hotel – and a fancy one to boot. He wondered who had Akasha and why they were staying in such an ostentatious place. It annoyed him, but with a shrug of his bag onto his shoulder, he wandered inside.

One of the attendants looked at him but was unable to see him very well because of his sunglasses that wouldn't leave his face. He continued to walk through the crowd of people in the hotel lobby until someone had tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around to see two teenage girls staring at him with wonder.

Oh my god, one of them said in English, Are you Leo? She turned to her friend, clutching her hand, Morii, it's Leo, from BIKS!

. . . Ah, hell. Not this again.

Sorry. he said curtly, You have me mistaken for someone else. Eyes were being drawn in the three's direction because of the two girls' excitement. He was suddenly asked for an autograph. No, two – no, three. Great. He knew the band they were talking about; a recently popular K-Pop band that had thousands and thousands of fans – and he hated them for this very reason. Well, it was hard to hate them when they were your friends, but still.

Can't stay here, he said, and then looked over at the glass door, narrowing his pale blue eyes from behind his shades sharply. It shattered, and then there were screams. He used the diversion to slip into one of the elevators.

It took a little more than twenty minutes to find the exact room he was looking for. Sighing, he knocked.

HE was definitely no Metatron, but that didn't mean that he didn't have his information right. At this point, Leo decided, he probably knew more than Metatron – or at least his current vessel. It was female, right? He had tracked down the identities of all the people he saw Hay Sun with in the airport and on the plane, and then pinpointed their newer location in London. They weren't there anymore because things had begun to happen with the Dark Angels.

He remembered aligning with them in past lives to play the game right and get by, but this time around, they had put people in danger that he actually cared about. This life was going to be used to better the world, for once. He sighed, scrunching his nose at the thought. He wasn't a goody-two-shoes, not by a long shot, but seeing innocent people get hurt and knowing innocent people got hurt were two different things to him.

Leo's only conclusion about Hay Sun being around angels was a logical one; she was an angel herself, though how it escaped him their whole lives, he didn't know. There was only the matter of finding out which she was. Usually, he was able to tell by their Glamour traces, but he wasn't near her. He could call Xathanael, but he didn't want to get back into the game with these people yet – he didn't even have his sword. Before he could do anything, he needed Akasha.

Thankfully, Akasha wasn't his only akashic record; he used a blood spell to find some of the other Fallen and eventually tracked down Akasha. She was somewhere in Scandinavia – more specifically, Norway, where Araquiel [ Henrik Brandt, Leo thought he probably preferred ] was. Someone else had her, which made Leo a little more than irritated.

It was late night when Leo had completely secured his hideout and transferred a multitude of things onto his more portable phone, which he and accomplices had altered to be a supercomputer in the palm of his hands. He wondered advanced technology like he had wasn't an official thing yet. Probably because most humans were extremely stupid.

He had packed a bag and made a few phone calls to get a private jet to Stevanger. Sword first, sister next. He didn't even know where Hay Sun was. Metatron and Xathanael [ Cassandra and Hana, they were calling themselves ] were gone, too. If Abbadon had Akasha . . . It wouldn't turn out well. He was bitter that Hana didn't give him his sword when he originally asked for it, but she insisted because they weren't needed. Leo surmised, now, that he would probably have somehow managed to conquer the world's underground completely, if he had it.

. . . Then again, being a major player in all of Asia's underground was fine, too.

Bin Lee, I'm on my way. he said into his phone, and then disappeared from his room.
