Donkey Kong singlehandedly saved the gaming industry from the Video Game Crash of 1983. It may be the single most important game ever invented. Its importance transcends petty genre classifications such as platforming, RPGs, etc. Just because its not your genre doesn't mean you shouldn't play it.
