When Red jumped up to dodge her low kick, she had expected that to happen, but it wasn't any less irritating. A barrage of punches came her way, and she managed to dodge about three of them, but the others were going to leave light bruises. All of that pain compounded . . .

    "Give up?"

Hay Sun breathed out and then laughed, "You wish," Her shoulder throbbed, but she forcefully ignored it, calling upon Uriel to see if they could anything to help her ignore it. Red was fast, she had to give her credit, but if Hay Sun tried, she could at least match the speed.

Swinging the left side of her body forward, Hay Sun bent in her arm and forced her elbow to collide with Red's side, and then Red's affected arm flew into her face, which grazed her cheek and made her bite the inside of her cheek. She spit out blood as she brought her other arm around to drag Red to the ground.

    THUMP.

She was straddling Red now, but that probably wouldn't last long.

"Hana!" With a swipe of her head, she looked over to where the voice had originated from and raised an eyebrow.

    Press the SIENNA SWITCH.
    2 5 : 4 6 REMAINS

You're pretty antsy about these three switches, mostly because two of them will kill you. After minutes of heavy contemplation, you decide that the sienna button seems like the ideal choice. Over the intercom, Jaynabelle is mumbling to herself; something about she hopes that you pick the right one.

With a deep breath, you walk over to the sienna switch, and press it.

At first, nothing happens, and you think its faulty. You glance over your shoulder at the other two switches and began walking over to the firebrick.

Before you can reach it, you hear a smooth sliding and turn towards the door. Oh, it opened. Jaynabelle cheers for you and tells you that you're not very far from where she is now.

As a refresher, you wonder if you want to check your INVENTORY.

    CHECK INVENTORY? Y/N

You walk through the newly opened door and take a sigh of relief, momentarily relishing your life. God, this loli better be worth it. you think to yourself. Come to think of it, you don't know how old she is. Or even who she is.

ASK THE LITTLE GIRL [ TWO ] QUESTIONS.

The next room you walk into is a mix of deep blue and white colors, and vaguely reminds you of something you might have seen once.

This is central hub. Jaynabelle explains to you. She mentions that when the building is active, this room is the busiest and transforms the most. You can't help but only focus on the transforming building bit. What kind of "company" is COR, anyway, and what do they want with you?

From the corner of the room, a holographic projection appears. What the fuck. It looks like a miniature version of — hey, you know that guy!

Ashwin! the girl squeaks. Yes, that's his name, Ashwin! Maybe he can tell you something about this nutty situation your in.

    W h a txwill you do?❞

"How do I get to Jaynabelle?"
    "Where am I?"
    "Who is COR?"
"You're in a holographic projection, what's up with that?"
"How do I know you? Do you know me?"

Fucking hell this water is freezing. The room fills up with it at a rapid pace, and soon you can't feel your fingers or toes.

You're under the chilly water now and holding your breath. Jaynabelle's panicked voice is distorted by the water, and she sounds almost demonic. You can't do it anymore. Your lungs are going to explode. You give out.

No more bullshit running around for you. You're going through the door straight in front of you.

In the meantime, you think of what to tell the girl about your name. You came up with a few ones, even considering just having the title of The Nameless One, but at the end of the day, you come up with the name Mael Cooper, and tell her to call you Cooper. She seems thrilled about having something to call you. Weirdo.

Hey, hey, my name's Jaynabelle!❞ she tells you excitedly.

Hey, hey, I don't really care. you deadpan in your mind, rolling your eyes. Why would she tell you her name?

Through the door you go and you find that it's a odd triangular shape room with a door parallel to yourself. On each wall, including the wall of the door you came through, there is a single button of firebrick, sienna, and light blue.

One of them will open up the door. The other two will kill you . . .❞ Jaynabelle tells you, and you rub your face tiredly. Of course the other two are going to kill you. You ask her if she knows the answer and she replies negative. Thanks for being helpful, you reply snidely.

So which one are you supposed to pick?! There's a 33.3% chance that you're going to live. The odds are against you.

    SAVE?

    Hey, what's that?

Above the door, written in what looks like chicken scratch is "L E V I A T H A N". Leviathan? Like the Kraken? Like the Angel? What's that supposed to mean? You turn away from the door and shake your head. Leviathan . . . Maybe it has something to do with one of the switches.

You look around the current hallway that your in. She told you that she could see you, right? If you look confused, she'll give you a direction to go in.

From before, the left door led to the path that would take you to her, right? You go back through the door that was supposed to be the exit and then find the untouched door once more. That's odd, you didn't notice that door at the end of the hall, before. Aaaah, fuck. you think to yourself. This day is getting more worse by the second. This is why you shouldn't do drugs, kids. you tell the invisible audience as you think back to the pill bottle on the nightstand. There is canned laughter.

I think the phrase "Nerawareta Gakuen" explains it all. Saxima stared at her laptop, not knowing what to think. Her face was stained with unwarranted tears and her brain was in a whirlwind of confusion. The only thing going through her mind was What in the right fuck compelled me to even want to watch that movie?

When she glances at the Skype chat, realizing that she should probably apologize for even . . . considering watching that movie, since it subjected she and her friends to such chaotic reactions, and it was a nearly two-hour waste of their time, but alas . . .

As time ground down, Saxima thought that she should probably post in Cupid's Brew to end her characters' days. Which is what she's doing now.

Good night, Saxima's characters. Sleep well.

Red joined her in the ring and Hay Sun hopped into a loose fighting stance, beginning to bounce on the balls of her feet. She was lunged at and she tried to move out of the way, but Red's seemingly disappearing fist connected with her shoulder and she winced.

Her ears alerted her to the presence behind her and she hopped back, steadily breathing in and out through her nose and mouth. She squared the girl up for a second. As a reference to her research, Xathanael was known as The Hidden One, which Hay Sun guessed related to her powers. This was going to make it hard to defend.

She swiped a fist forward that just barely grazed Red's arm and she clicked her tongue, immediately leaning in to use the momentum for her other fist, which had success in connected with her opponents other arm. She lurched back and gazed over Red's limbs. It would prove beneficial to take out her legs, wouldn't it?

She smoothly weaved around to the left side of Red, dropping to a squat and shooting out a low kick which she hoped would connect with the other's ankle.

Hay Sun had to admit that she was a little impressed with the way Red seemed to flawlessly flow with the slide and slash of her blade. She seemed to be working hard with it, too. She watched the glistening beads of sweat run down the side of her face.

Are you sure you can handle it? You put in a lot of hours yesterday, didn't you?

Her eyebrow twitched. Was Red looking down on her? Her eyes narrowed. The sword disappeared; it's name was Luria, apparently, but that was more of an afterthought. Just because Red was on the God Squad for longer than Hay Sun, just because she already had the abilities to destroy the entire warehouse, did not mean that Hay Sun was out of fuel. Sure — she had been in massive pain this morning, but that was all just a numb ache now.

I'll fight you if you honestly belive you have it in you to continu. Otherwise, I don't want you to wear yourself completely out.

I know my limits, Red.❞ Weeeeell . . . Maybe not, but she wouldn't admit that. ❝I know when to quit.❞ Except not really. ❝I'll be fine.Probably.

She stepped into the makeshift ring that Sam and Red had used some days ago and began to stretch out her muscles, easing the soreness by just a bit. She didn't know if weird powers would begin manifesting during the fight, but as long as she had her fists, her limbs, and her senses, there was no need for powers. Even if Red was stronger than she, there was still improvement in herself to be made. And she would be damned if she didn't make it.

Ready to go, Red.❞ she said, popping her neck with a rolling motion.

    DAY 133/3DATEJANUARY 2NDLOCATIONHOSPITAL
    MOODDETERMINED❤??0%WEARINGOOCSO ANIME, BRYAN.

There was a while before Julius answered his simple, yet so complex question. He listened intently to what the professor had to say on the matter. He did recall the lights going out, and it had been then that both Noëlle and Jonathan disappeared. Why them? Why now?

. . . A group of people took them? In the recesses of his mind, he tried to think of anyone who would want to harm her; any group, any people . . . There was a small idea in the back of his mind, but that was two years ago. Why would something like that, someone like them pop again? And they had seemed pretty average at the time. When he did think about it, they were kind of strange, weren't they?

"Well, the hospital has security cameras, doesn't it?" he asked, blinking at the building, "But . . . I don't think they would let us see them, even if we did tell them what happened. No one seemed to believe us, yesterday." Which was strange. "We could try to sneak through to the security footage?"

It sounded like a faulty plan, but they didn't have much of a lead to go on at the moment. Julius was right, though. The lights would have to had been tampered with, and the control panel of the electricity of the building would be a good place to start. Surely they couldn't walk in there willy-nilly, though. "I think . . . We'll need a disguise." he said, feeling silly at the thought.

He remembered Harley telling him about one of his crazy escapades, where he had sneaked into a hospital disguised as a doctor to retrieve medicine for his friend. If he could do it, then surely Bryan and Julius could.

They walked into the hospital looking relatively nonchalant and passed the reception desk to walk down one of the hallways. They needed to find the employee wing to see if they could ring up outfits that were suitable for them to move around the hospital freely, and get down to the electric control panel to find evidence of tampering.

    Hopefully, they would be successful.

Hay Sun didn't feel well today, and it was frustrating. She was in a lot of pain, for some reason. It hurt to think, hurt to move, hurt to even breathe. She was told that it was because of the amount of energy she exerted yesterday — she hadn't even known that she had.

What was she supposed to do now? She could grin and bear it; no pain, no gain, as it were.

For the first hours of the day, she mostly tossed and turned in bed, lingering between being awake and being asleep. It was painful either way. Around noon, the pain began to subside and she was able to breathe without wanting to rip out her lungs.

When she was able to move around more freely she changed into clothing that was suitable for working out, same as yesterday. Her adviser ( Uriel ) mentioned that she probably shouldn't jump back into it. That was probably a good piece of advice.

Of course she wasn't going to take it.

Some time later, she arrived at the warehouse to find another car parked there. It was the one Red brought home yesterday. Here, huh? Hay Sun hopped off her bike and walked in to hear swipes and movements of a blade, or something. Turned out that Red was brandishing a sword. Pfft, a sword. What year is it, 1502?

ACTUALLY, WE WERE RELATIVELY GOOD FRIENDS WITH HENRY TUDOR.

You know what's great? I don't really care.

Uriel was probably angry now. Oh well.

Nice sword.❞ she commented. Red did seem to move pretty well with it. Hay Sun was kind of impressed. A part of her did wonder if she wielded any kind of special weapon. ❝So what about that match . . . ?

    DAY 13 2/4DATE JANUARY 2NDLOCATION LIVING ROOM • PIERCE'S HOUSE
    MOOD THOUGHTFUL❤!! 2%WEARING

Sophie had remained in her pajamas for most of the morning while working on psychology and lit with Pierce, whose mood had seemed not-so-great. She was more internal and less talkative than usual, which bothered Sophie. What had her so up in a riot? Well . . . Silent riot, she guessed. Her shot was Oliver. She was slowly growing to hate him. A part of her wanted to seduce him, and the other part wanted him to disappear off the face of the earth, forever.

What did she see in that boy, anyway?

Sophie definitely didn't like it when people kept secrets from her that had potential for being interesting and having to do with who she was interested in. She felt that Pierce was keeping something from her, but what? She watched the girl walk away to the kitchen and was disappointed when she took her phone. Had Oliver replied? Sophie had been looking through it while the other girl was asleep — and she didn't feel guilty.

They might have thought that it was none of her business ( and all rights reserved, it wasn't ), but she would be damned if she didn't make it her business.

Finding herself unable to concentrate on her current work, she set her pen down and began twiddling with her fingers, waiting for when Pierce would return.

And when she did, the girl was in a decidedly much better mood than before. Had it been Oliver?

I'll be returning home, tonight. she said when the other sat down, her tone excluding emotion. I'm sorry for intruding so long, especially what with New Years Eve. That had been mentioned on purpose, mostly to drag out a reaction. You'll be glad to be rid of me, I suppose. A part of her cringed at the thought of that even being positive.

For a little while, she wondered what she could do to make Pierce look exclusively at her. Bonus if she could make her hate Oliver? . . . It made her think of Cupid's Brew, but with what happened to them, was she really willing to risk it? Maybe it reacted badly to them or something — or maybe it really was just some poison sold to suckers.

She pulled out her phone and scrolled through the contacts. There was a way that she knew to make Pierce hate him, but it would be a bit dangerous and her relationship with the girl would be in danger of being lost. As a bit of insurance, she had saved his number, but was positive, almost, that he didn't have hers. Why would he? Didn't he hate her, or something?

Her pale eyes danced over to Pierce, and then back to the screen that wasn't visible to her. Then again . . . Dangerous games were the only kind worth playing. Maybe she shouldn't start off tonight, since there was school tomorrow, but soon. Weren't the two lovebirds supposed to go ice skating tonight? That might be a good start. If . . . he was coming to pick her up, she could follow the two of them, but one was bound to notice, and her car would be immediately recognized.

Hmm. There had to be some way she could know.

"Good to see you, Bryan . . ."

Julius began to move towards Bryan, and then rested his hand on Bryan's shoulder, looking up into the sky, "Bryan . . ." he began, "They say that a man is truly at his best when something precious to them is at stake . . . They would do whatever it takes . . . They would devote their life like no other in order to receive the desired result . . ."

Green eyes followed the hand that went from shoulder to pocket, and then his arm was grabbed, and he blinked. Something was set down in his hand. A thin chain . . . A silver necklace. His already unsteady breathing hitched, and his eyes went wide. All hopes that maybe, just maybe, she just wasn't answering her phone crashed into the cold ground.

"I need your help in this investigation . . ."

His hand closed around the silver chain. For a long moment, he recalled her face when he put it on her. That smile . . . He suddenly wanted to see it again. His free hand tugged at the warm green scarf that was almost forever-present around his neck.

. . . He never exchanged his GIFT TICKET!!, had he?

One deep breath later, Bryan latched the silver necklace around his neck, under his scarf. Until he got her back, this is where it would remain. And he would get her back. He turned to Julius with a determined expression.

Lucas stared out the window with his hands knitted together behind his back. It was snowing lightly. He never asked her, but he quietly wondered if FATIME liked snow.

She hadn't tried to contact him. He hadn't tried to contact her. Lucas and FATIME weren't the poster children for siblings, but he did have some semblance of caring for her. It was more in the point where as long as she was alive, he was fine with their distance.

. . . As it were, though, she wasn't. Not really. FATIME was the internally lively sort, which Lucas had always appreciated about his sister. They were alike in a lot of ways, but she was more empathetic than himself, by far. Her current behavior, to him, was incomprehensible. Through that direction, it was rather annoying, and upsetting. A girl normally set so lively, dead to the world by her own making.

She was such a frail person, he had come to realize over the years. So delicate. So easily crippled. A butterfly, cast in monochrome.

He clicked his tongue and pulled out his phone.

Fatime, you have been sulking for far too long. I insist you quit this emotional asininity.❞ he said in a calm tone. ❝You could not have known, and neither could I. However, what's done is done, and we cannot repudiate our actions. Now, I demand that you gain some pretense of life and come to the Bennett Residence. Sophie isn't present, although Torvald Tannhauser is. He . . . is interesting Fatime.

He took a breath and thought about just how interesting TORVALD really was, to him.

. . . I want to tell you about him, Fatime. Unfortunately, I cannot if you continue your current miserable and pathetic path. You will pull yourself together and come see me. I will not ask again.

He hung up the phone and slipped it into his pockets, and then headed into the kitchen to make an early lunch. It would be around noon by now, wouldn't it?

He walked out of the library and glanced at the sleeping young man on the couch. He was quite pretty, wasn't he? Lucas smiled to himself. Beasts could be pretty sometimes. Beautiful, even. Maybe Lucas thought this because he was interesting.

Beginning to hum a tune with a smile on his face, he walked into the kitchen and began to prepare lunch.

    DAY 131/4DATEJANUARY 2NDLOCATIONHOSPITAL
    MOODWORRIED❤??0%WEARINGOOC— — —

Even with Harley at his side, the whole night passed with Bryan lingering in the gray area between wakefulness and sleeping. It was terrible. All he could think about was Noëlle. His thoughts were filled with what might be happening to her. Where she might be. If she actually was taken. If she was okay.

School was starting soon, but Bryan would be damned if he even thought of going while she was missing. God. He was a terrible excuse for a brother! Why did he continue to stay here at Harley's? He should have been there for her — with her!

He turned over on his side to check his phone; maybe she had called him or texted him or . . . anything. No. Nothing. He clenched his tear-glazed eyes shut, and forced himself to take a deep breath. Someone else had sent him a message.

    FROM: Professor
Hey....meet me tomorrow outside of the hospital tomorrow at 8:00 AM,
I need to discuss things with you....though if your not feeling well don't
    bother...I need you mentally prepared

    Mentally . . . prepared?

Bryan recalled two years ago; that had been a terrible situation too, hadn't it? He didn't like thinking about it, but working with Julius had made things a little easier.

This time, though, there was something different at stake — something far more important than that group's survival, and even his own . . . It was Noëlle's. Staring up at the ceiling, his expression darkened. In all truth, he was scared of what might happen, but he couldn't be selfish. His selfishness had led to this situation.

    It won't happen again.
Bryan arrived at the hospital a little while after 8:00am, and there he was, Professor Julius, waiting for him. After parking, he turned off the car, and gripped the steering wheel. He needed to be mentally prepared. For what, he wondered.

    "Professor . . . " he let out, breathlessly. "I'm . . . I'm here."
