I actually think that the scene when Sora frees his heart is the best in all of Kingdom Hearts, to me. It really showed how selfless Sora was. Yeah, he left his world to look for his friends, but to actually sacrifice his own heart to what was trying to destroy him for someone he loves is incredible.
Probably both. Just a slight vocal change. Many voice actors change the way they sound for different roles. Such as Vic Minogna(sp?). Not only is he Edward Elric, but Broly and Ikkaku. Every one of them has a distinct voice.
