OOC: Totally didn't see the new page for, like, forever, lol. BIC: Xardius' brow furrowed as he considered how to do this. "Oh, just let me," the dark-skinned woman said, stepping up to Wing and pressing her hand to his forehead. "Awake." Xardius shrugged as the woman disappeared and Wing's power unsealed itself...
Xardius watched impassively. Tyre sighed. All was well.
OOC: Oh. OK. BIC: Tyre was very confused, but Xardius didn't look like he was in the mood to do anything except explode, and Wing looked wary and angry, and Vecked had that look in his eye. Tyre suddenly wanted to be very far away. But whatever. "Fine, well, either way, the Ulfire people are coming, so I suggest we leave," Tyre said, walking off in a direction he knew the Ulfire wasn't.
OOC: And Nulix disappears...how appropriate... Well, we can't do much until he makes it back I suppose. How'd you like the song I posted? (If you listened to it, that is).
"Vecked," Xardius said after a moment. "How does it feel?" His voice was too quiet, and he knew it. He shouldn't have come back. But he could hear his power whispering to him. "It's all right...I can awaken the power within Wing, and he will be able to contain it...We can fight..." And slowly Xardius was agreeing.
Tyre stared around. "Is something...wrong?"
"Like Xardius," Tyre said, looking at Xardius, who shook his head. "Or not."
Xardius shook his head. "It won't work. Ah, fine, I'll come back with you guys. But be prepared for something to happen between me and Vecked." Xardius and Wing teleported back to the others. "Yo, Nulix," Xardius said, raising a hand. "Looks like this was...fun."
Xardius shook his head. "Don't you get it? I can't do that! This isn't a power surge! It's just me! I won't be able to just get over it!" He clenched his fists. "I have to control it before I can use it!" The twilight shimmered and became the dark woman again. "He's right, Wing. He can't use me until he can control me. There are unthinkable consequences: he could burn himself out, he could annihilate this entire realm, and, yes, he could kill you. You'll have to wait."
OOC: Did you get Nulix's PM Wing? BIC: "No," Xardius said, walking away. "I'm not in the mood." He paused. "I'll meet up with you guys later, but, just a warning: the Virus is restoring itself, and it won't remain dormant forever. You'll have to find a way to destroy it other than me." Xardius didn't want to vocalize the fact that he was not really sure what would happen if he tried to destroy the Virus. After all, it would take a tremendous amount of power to do it, and Xardius wanted to use his power. That hadn't happened in a long time, and the last time it had, Xardius had nearly killed everyone...His lust for battle was twice as bad now, partly because of the Wraith, and partly because of feeling Vecked's power. He wanted to test it out... But he was more afraid of the consequences. So he was refusing to use his power until he could bring himself under control. He was sure Wing could probably tell all that from a glance.
"Like Xardius," Tera Roth sighed. "Well, we're at the most dangerous stage right now. The Ulfire will undoubtedly know that we have neutralized the Virus, at least for the moment, so they're going to try and steal it. We can't do anything to them lest we start another major world crisis. So I'm going to leave this with you," he said, handing it to Wing. "It's cloaking in twilight and it appears as if I still have the Virus. It won't fool anyone within 15 feet, since I'm tired, but it will keep the Ulfire men off your trail long enough for you to lose them." He kicked Tyre in the head, who stopped snoring and woke up. "Tyre, you stay with them and make sure that Virus gets destroyed." Tyre nodded sheepishly. "I'll see you all later," Tera Roth said, trotting off through the viral trees.
OOC: Hmm, what to do now? We need Nulix, and Pirate, at least. Akua would be nice to have around... Maybe I'll just do it for them... BIC: Xane channeled a blast of energy into his fists and punched forward, Vecked's flame hit the Virus like billions of needles, and Akua sent a light beam the size of a redwood tree into the Virus. The Virus cried out and exploded. Something dropped to the ground, pulsating slightly. Tera Roth stepped up to it, and picked it up. "So we didn't kill it..."
OOC: I finally found the (almost) perfect theme song for Xardius: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q35zbGpwkGs Lyrics are on the side... BIC: Tera Roth rushed back with a device in hand. He pointed it at the Virus, and flicked it on. "Enigma was right," Tera Roth said. "The Virus operates through wave frequencies to tell itself how to change form. Well then, to scramble the frequency..." He twisted the dial and pressed a switch. The Virus exploded into a cloud of black sand, forming into a humanoid figure with its hands on its head, but it couldn't hold the form for long. Parts of it kept disintegrating, and the Virus shrieked wordlessly. "Hit it with everything you've got right now!" Tera Roth yelled, pulling on all of his formidable power as a twilight user. The air around him grew stagnant, and then he released the energy, blasting it into the Virus...
The Virus reeled back, shuddering. Then it sank into the ground. Pillars of sand began attacking randomly at the members, blasting them before they could hit back. "We have to stop it from shape-shifting," Tera Roth yelled. "I'll be right back!" He ran off.
"I had to get here somehow," Tera Roth said, blocking a blow from the Virus and sending a blast of twilight that ripped the sand apart. The Virus reeled back, obviously hurt. "So we can hurt it," Tera Roth said. "That's good. I was worried there." A blast of sand hit him from below, knocking him back into a tree. He wiped his mouth. "Ouch. Anyway, Highwind's keeping an eye on the Ulfire guards, who are keeping an eye on you. We need to finish this quickly, before they try to get involved."
The Virus slammed them out of the cave, nearly colliding with Tyre as it coalesced into a humanoid form. Tyre drew his sword. "Um...hello?" The Virus said nothing, but the forest around Tyre erupted in black sand, thrusting itself toward Tyre. Tyre smiled. "Then let's dance," he said, and twisted, slicing the black sand into dull edges which he dodged around, before hopping over the sea of black sand and slicing down at the Virus. The Virus sunk into itself, collapsing around his sword, then slamming into him as a stream of sand that sent him flying backwards, slamming him through a tree and into the ground, where it proceeded to dig him a shallow grave. Tyre coughed and fell unconscious. About this time, Tera Roth, dripping wet, arrived on the scene. "The plan, Xane," Tera Roth said, "is to try not to die."
Tyre was waiting outside. "Um..." he said. "This could be interesting."
Tyre followed the others, looking around uneasily. "Something doesn't feel right about this forest...I guess it's the Virus' corruption."
OOC: How about you lead this Nulix? BIC: Tyre shrugged. "Lead the way, then. I'll cover the backtrail."
"There's the problem," Tyre said. "Are we catching it or destroying it?" He climbed out of the boat onto the land as it landed. "Either way, we have to find it first," Tyre said. "Let's start looking."
