Dana Knightfall and Zoey Pryor signing up for Masquerade!
"The mission was a breeze. A very hot, musty, icky breeze, but we managed okay. Zoey's preeeeeetty good with using a staff, i'm gonna be an awesome deathscythe and she's gonna be the best meister. That pharaoh stood no chance, oh yeah Lord Death I forgot to ask but is it possible for someone to get fat from eating souls? I don't want to ruin my body but they taste so good so I want to eat as many as I can, so yeah do they?" Dana asked, gently fixing up the blindfold on Zoey as she did so. It'd been on her mind since the thought had occurred to her before, so she had to find out now. She hoped the answer was no, if so then damn did she look forward to the feast coming her way. It was weird, she'd never thought that eating someone's soul would be so fulfilling...was she secretly a psychopath inside? Guys were into the crazy chicks, so combined with her normal attractiveness....that could be dangerous. The world was not ready for such a thing.
Glen attacked for 28 damage!
As the attacks came flying towards Glen, he attempted to dodge roll out of the way. Unfortunately, his muscles had seemingly forgotten how to do just that and instead of rolling out of the way he found himself simply flip forward and onto his butt as magical rings of death hit him and knocked him out cold. It's okay though, because he regained consciousness rather quickly, or at least that's how it felt to him. Glancing at the person that he assumed had healed him, he quickly called out "Thanks Luna!" before hopping up onto his feet and surging forward with renewed strength, striking the witch and praying to whatever god may have been watching that he didn't get struck down once more. Glen attacked for 28 damage!
Shockingly, Dana was speechless as Zoey hugged her. She should have some kind of witty remark to make about it, some kind of joke thrown along with it, but no, she had nothing. Instead, she simply hugged her friend back. Such a tender moment was best not ruined with words, even if they were words that would likely raise the mood even higher. Sure enough, Lord Death arrived shortly afterwards. Dana knew he would come, of course he'd come when a fight had broken out between two students. Dana just hoped he didn't subject her to the infamous reaper chop, she didn't want a headache that would last a few weeks. Surely he wouldn't be so cruel, but then again...if she were injured, surely Malik would come running, begging her to forgive him for not coming forth with his feelings sooner. Dreamy McEdgelord nursing her back to health wasn't a bad thought, maybe she should ask Lord Death to reaper chop her after all. Snapping back to reality, her attention was caught by the words Zoey said about the fabric that couldn't be cut by blades. Numerous questions came to mind as she heard those words. Did such a thing exist? Would even Lord Death know about it if it did? And could she make a killer outfit out of it if so? So many questions, so few answers. With any luck, she would find out. First they would get a new blindfold for Zoey, and then Dana would create their clothing. They would have to have matching outfits, that one was a given, but what kind of shoes would they need? There was something badass about a lady that could swallow souls while in heels, but what would she do for Zoey? Wait, that was it! Zoey could wear indestructible socks and nothing else, striking fear into the hearts of their opponents due to the blind meister's raw courage and power! How had she not thought of it before? The plan was genius! She was a genius for thinking of it! Smiling like a giddy fool, the weapon waited for Death's answer.
After being released once more, Glen realised just how sick of being shoved into chests he was getting. While it seemed to be safer inside of them, everytime he came out of one everyone else seemed to be just a little more tired and injured. How was he meant to help them when he kept getting turned into a god damn treasure chest? Taking out his frustration, he shot forward and attacked Mizrabel with his keyblade in full force before pulling back and preparing to attempt to dodge whatever came his way. Glen attacked Mizrabel for 28 damage!
"Of course we can still work together. I got to taste my first soul because of you, and I got to go explore the pharaoh's tomb because of you, and we're going to be the best meister and weapon combo ever. Hell, we already are, they just don't see it yet. Besides, you still promised me ice cream remember?" Dana asked with a laugh, her cheerful persona returning almost completely. "Just because a witch decided to hold a grudge doesn't make you any less of a person, I mean you have more reason to be here than anyone with something like that. Be the protagonist of your own story, I'll be your sidekick and I don't let just anyone boss me around. Don't worry so much, we've got this whole thing downpat" the girl reassured.
"W-what? No, no I am not! He's into me, not the other way around! I'd never stoop so low as to go for someone like him, how could you even suggest it?" Dana exclaimed, clearly flustered. She waited a moment, and then quietly just said "please don't tell anyone" in a very gentle, almost pleading voice. She then waited for Zoey's treatment to be over, amazed at the sight that was before her very eyes involving Zoey's glowing ones. She wanted to say it looked really cool, and it really did, but something told her that now was not the time. "If you ask me, the fact you can't see like others can almost gives you an advantage. With the way you fought back with the pharaoh, your limited vision clearly doesn't ruin you, and you can see peoples' souls. If it's a curse, I bet we can find a way to remove it. I mean, you've probably looked, but hey maybe you just need someone to think outside the box or something. I dunno if you've noticed, but my mind's a little....different. People tend to either be freaked out by me, or just outright ignore me. Frankly, I'm surprised you've stuck by me even for this small amount of time. Even my own family don't think I'll do any good. Not sure what gave them that impression, I mean I'm awesome, but yeah...they were really surprised when I actually got accepted into here. So, miracles clearly happen and maybe we can find a way to get you a clear vision of the blue sky after all" Dana said, the usually hyperactive girl being somewhat...ordinary.
Dana took the jacket off of Zoey very carefully, and simply stood there staring at it. An idea was forming in her head, one that would likely seem remarkably creepy and just a little obsessive, but that was probably because it was. "No no Zoey, he can have his jacket back, but he'll get it later. Yes, later.....probably....maybe.....do you think he sleeps in this? I bet he won't even notice if I keep it" the girl said, taking a big whiff of man in her nostrils. "It even smells like him. We definitely should keep it, kishins probably shake in their demonic, creepy booties when they see Malik. Can't blame him, he's got like, the best girlfriend ever supporting him. Oh yeah, he's into me, it was written all over his face. He's just playing hard to get, but he'll come around" Dana stated, completely confident in her words. She was irresistable after all, there was no way he'd hold out for long. She'd give him like, two days, and if he didn't break down in that time and confess his undying love for her then she'd ransom off his jacket for one date. Oh yeah, she had him right where she wanted him. Remembering her friend was in pain, she snapped out of her dreamy state and blushing, she opened the door to the nurse's office and gently lead Zoey inside, apologising for not leading her there sooner.
"Don't be silly Zoey. You're my meister, and my friend, if you're hurting I want to help so of course i'm gonna see you like this. We just need to find you a shady place, then we'll be able to deal with this. Shadowy, not shady. I mean, if you want to go to a super shady place we can, but that's probably not a good idea like this" Dana said, attempting to crack a joke as she sat with her friend. Moments later, Malik came over and addressed the two of them, commenting about how Dana should avoid fighting, then he asked them to follow him. She resisted the urge to make the comment of "i'll follow you anywhere" and instead decided to try something else. "Yeah, they were asking for an ass kicking though, but I'll try not to get into fights in future. It'll give me cranky wrinkles anyway, can't have that. I wouldn't want to ruin this beautiful face of mine, wouldn't you agree it's so pretty sir?" Dana asked, batting her eyelashes as she asked the teacher who was, like, super hot and edgy. Zoey was in pain and that worried Dana, but a girl still had her fantasies. Badasses appealed to Dana, so she had to say something. She took another glance at Zoey as they walked, and the flirtatiousness vanished from her demeanour as concern took its place.
As they were waiting in line, Dana was happily swaying from side to side, eagerly anticipating the taste of ice cream in her mouth. It seems fate decided not to allow such an extraordinary event to pass, indicated by Zoey's blindfold being cut. Time seemed to slow as the blindfold fell and Zoey hunched over in pain, but despite this Dana was simply frozen as a whirlwind of emotions came over her. There was a little anxiety, a whole lot of rage, shock, and a little -just a little- fear. "What do I...." she started, trailing off in her uncertainty of just what to do. The moment Zoey spoke her name, it brought Dana back to her senses. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you do that?!" she exclaimed. There was a moment where the bullies stopped their jeering, turning their attention to the girl they hadn't expected to do anything. Their sneers hadn't vanished from their faces, however. "Wow, you two, like, don't match at all. She's pretending something's wrong with her, but the only thing wrong with you is your stupid fashion sense. How many trash cans did you have to search through to find your outfit? And that hair....ew" the black haired girl insulted. The moment the words escaped the lips of the black haired girl, Dana's right arm turned into the bladed part of the staff, however as quickly as it had appeared it quickly vanished. For once, Dana had no words; too angry to actually speak. Instead, her entire body was engulfed in a glow starting with her eyes, and when the glow stopped she was in weapon form. In weapon form, she manipulated herself to be raised in the air swiftly and around to the girl's right, before transforming back into human form and lashing out with a quick punch into the girl's right eye, before landing and delivering a violent kick to the girl's stomach, knocking her onto the ground. "My outfit is the least of your worries right now. If you ever so much as even breathe in the nearby vicinity of Zoey, then you'll need a blindfold yourself, if you can even walk" the future deathscythe threatened. With that said, she turned and looked at the blonde girl. "Same goes for you. Get out of here. Now" she ordered before waiting for both of the bullies to leave, then ignoring the looks of the people around she stepped in front of Zoey, attempting to block the sunlight with her own body as she kneeled down in front of her friend. "Are you okay, Zoey?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.
As Zoey finished speaking, Dana slowly turned to face her, her eyes glistening with sheer joy. "I-ice cream?" she stuttered, her voice a little quiet as though she were afraid of even speaking. When her meister didn't change her mind or otherwise retract the statement, the girl leaped forward with a scream of excitement and wrapped her arms around Zoey in a hug. "Ice cream ice cream ice creeeeeeeeeeeeam, you are the best meister ever" she exclaimed in a sing-song voice. The only thing better than ice cream was free ice cream, and obviously herself but she wasn't going to eat herself so that didn't count...although she figured she'd probably taste delicious. She had to be really careful at the academy, if there were any cannibals she would be in danger. Later, after arriving back at the DWMA, Dana had found the nearest ice cream store and led Zoey there in a hurry. She hadn't visited the place for a whole three days, so her ice cream levels were dangerously low, but now she would be able to eat it at last. It probably wouldn't surprise anyone to know Dana had a real sweet tooth; if something had sugar in it, she simply had to have it. People often were shocked at how she kept such a gorgeous figure, or so she liked to think, but anytime she caught someone staring at her as she was eating something sweet she would always look at them, tilt her head slightly, give a nice warm smile before flipping them off and continuing to eat. "I can't decide what flavour I want, Zoey. I want chocolate, but strawberry is soooo nice, but then there's caramel which is so smooth on the tongue, and like you can't forget banana, if monkeys go crazy over it then you know it's good" she explained logically, before screwing up her face in a look of pure concentration. Moments later, she opened her eyes and released a loud "I got it!" before beaming once more and giving her final decision: "I want cookies and cream!" she said, arriving at the line to actually get the ice cream. "Aw man, it's going to take forever to get this at this rate"
Facing straight towards the kishin egg and wondering how they were going to beat the pharaoh, Dana suddenly heard Zoey's idea. "Wait wait wait, what?" she asked, slightly confused. Being thrown like a spear, well it worked but...she was gonna get all icky stuff on her if she actually stabbed into something. However, before she could voice her thoughts she was in the air, thrown by her meister. If she went out of her weapon form the attack would surely fail, so her hands were tied. She had to take this seriously, to fail now would be a terrible start and would mean her family was right about her not being able to make it as a deathscythe. More importantly, it would make her wrong, and that was something she just could not allow to happen. After all, she had a reputation of never being wrong to uphold. Sailing through the air, she guided herself around a few of the bandages, maneuvering out of the way of them gracefully, but just as she was nearing the pharaoh she was confronted by a few bandages netting together in a sort of wall. That wall was so f*cked though, it didn't stand a chance. There was no way the awesome duo of Dana Knightfall and Zoey Pryor was going to fail this, and there was no way she wasn't going to sink her teeth into that kishin soul. With a surge of strength inspired by the efforts of her friend and meister, Dana pierced straight through the wall of bandages and embedded herself in the head of her enemy. Immediately, the bandages stopped waving around and simply fell to the ground, before vanishing altogether along with the pharaoh. Not all of the pharaoh had left though, for it had left behind its soul. Changing back to her human form, Dana landed neatly next to it, picked up the soul, and tossed it into the air. She managed a happy little twirl and give a thumbs up to her meister in an epic victory pose before simply tilting back her head and catching the soul in her mouth as her free hand pressed a button on the phone she'd managed to slip out, causing it to play a tune as the soul was swallowed. Wiping her mouth with the sleeve of her clothing, she put the phone away (causing it to become a little muffled as she'd forgotten to stop it playing the music) and then went over to Zoey. "See, told you we could do it. Nice throw, you would've been awesome at sports. Hey do you think there's a team for the academy? We should start one. Oh oh, I bet Spirit will be our team's cheerleader!" the girl exclaimed, clearly very happy and excited about their victory.
Dana fell onto her butt on the floor with a thud, before getting up quickly. "Nice this mummy is waaaay more frail than we thought. How's about we go and finish this thing off now? A good whack on the head with an awesome weapon should do it, weeeeee" Dana said gleefully, before turning into her weapon form. Into the air she flung herself, spinning rapidly all anime-like, manipulating herself so it would be easiest for Zoey to catch her. She really, really hoped her meister caught her, it would be embarassing if she didn't. Kinda funny, and they'd probably laugh about it later, but still embarassing. After Mikio made a suggestion about the answer, Chaol took note of the way the boy had tilted his head. Riddles were....well, they were horrible things to be sure, and try as he might Chaol always seemed to focus on the wrong part of it, so it was better left to those that could solve them. Tilting his own head, just as Mikio had done, the assassin looked at the riddle carefully. "No, I can see how you'd get south from it. May as well give it a shot, good job on this thing Mikio" Chaol complimented, before turning and looking at Matthew. "Lead the way, but be careful. Who knows how far away Bonnie and Clyde are? Could be around the next corner for all we know, best to keep on our toes"
As the witch released another blast of magical energy, Glen prepared to attempt to dodge the attack, however the magic was not directed at him, but some of the others. Poor Stratos had taken yet another hit and gone down, and many of them were feeling the effects of the battle. Given Mizrabel didn't seem to be paying attention to him, the opportunity was presented and Glen took it, lunging forward with his keyblade and striking the witch fair in the back. Glen attacked, for 28 damage!
As a floating ring of presumable illusion flew towards Glen, he suddenly found himself wishing he were inside that chest. It may have been cramped, but it had been safe, and had jewels in it! But despite that, he was appreciative of being freed. "Right, ass kicking inbound" he said, cracking his knuckles before lunging forward and striking the evil witch with his custom keyblade, Last Legacy. Glen attacked for 28 damage!
The human pretzel was no more, he was free, he was powerful, he was ready to kick some witchy ass, he was....totally forgetting to show gratitude. "Oh, thanks, whoever you are. I owe you one" he said, before scanning the area to determine his method of attack. It turns out he didn't actually find one, but rather he found a chest just a little to the side of himself. What a horrible situation that person was in, he ought to rectify that. And so he did. He opened the **** out of that chest, opening it so well not even a professional locksmith would be able to comprehend just how he did it. D'daear was freed!
Glen was feeling very cramped. He remembered seeing the most flexible people on Aatarsilu in a circus folding themselves into seemingly impossible positions and thinking it was quite incredible, but he'd never actually wanted to do it. Yet here he was, inside of eternal darkness. At least there were pretty jewels and gems around him, poking him in the ribs all affectionately and the like. And at least Mizrabel thought him important enough to consider him a treasure, as he was clearly in the kind of chest for one. I mean, he could even see a +1 Excalipoor in front of him. Maybe he could use that to escape! Wait, he couldn't use his hands due to him being a human pretzel. Well, there went that idea...
"Alright, support it is" Chaol said as he caught Hannah. Now stepping to the back, he was at the rear of the group, bow in hand and ready to fire should the need arise. Taking point with a bow would've been a terrible idea if they'd been ambushed, he knew that, but leading in a situation like the one they were in was what he'd grown up being used to. He'd always been sent first, presumably to learn faster and to prove what he was capable of. Or at least, that's what he hoped...he hated even considering that maybe he'd been sent first because they'd considered him expendable. They were his family, they wouldn't do that though.
"Time to kick some royal ass. I hope you're ready, Mr undead pharaoh sir, because we are going to-" Dana started, confident as ever but being cut off mid sentence by a very thin, mouldy looking bandage wrapping itself around her ankle. "Aw shit" was all the girl got out before she got pulled off of her feet and began being dragged towards the casket before them. As she was being dragged, she rolled over in an attempt to get free, but to no avail. The grip on her ankle was pretty solid, getting away wouldn't be easy. She continued rolling around to try to get released, but that struggling stopped after a few moments as she got raised into the air before the pharaoh's casket, now hanging upside down by her ankle. For once, Dana was thankful for her relatively tight clothing, but she was very much not okay with what the pharaoh had done. Even after having died, it was clear that this ancient king was trying to check out his target before devouring her. The devouring was one thing, she'd done that with souls earlier after all and besides...she bet she tasted wonderful, but the checking her out without her permission? That was not on. "HEY YOU PERVERT YOU PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW, AND QUIT TRYIN' TO LOOK UP MY SKIRT. I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS FOR THIS YOU ROYAL CREEP, ONCE I'M DONE WITH YOU YOU'LL WISH YOU WERE DEAD....AGAIN!" she exclaimed, clearly disturbed by the events unfolding. Clearing her throat, she attempted to sound as civil as she possibly could with her next statement. "Ahem, sorry about that Zoey. Sometimes being too pretty is a bad thing. Could you be a dear and help me down from here?" she asked, sounding like the kindest, most nicest ever person to ever live. That's right, she was speaking in a Canadian accent. Chaol nodded in response to Hannah's suggestion. "Keeping left sounds like the most efficient way to do this, but I agree that while we do this we should very much be prepared for anything. A maze would be a good way to pick someone off that you don't want following you; just wait at the end and take them out, only one way in and only one way out. Being armed would be a good way to prevent this. If Hannah's okay with it, we'll take point. If not, then I guess you'll have to lead, Matthew" the assassin stated, taking a couple of steps forward and waiting for the decision to be made.
