Sounds good to me :D
I think it should count as long as you use the same PSD? Or at least use the same first... let's say five layers? XD That's basically what I did and I came up with a TOTALLY different result. :p
... I need to stop using these wireframes... But they're so sexy :( ... I think I have an odd obsession with eye cropping. Meh. Cnc? :o
This is like the fourth time I've remixed this... FFFFF I HAD SUCH BAD TASTE IN STOCKS FFFUUUUU The PSD I used was actually from the second one (I don't have the PSD from the first one. The third is a remix from the second as well)
Top Shade This trick works really great for outdoor portraiture. When you're outside I found that portraits often time look really harsh in sunlight, especially around mid-day. For example; http://jade31891.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2w9hl5 Of course you can do other things like lower your shutter speeds, lower your ISO and such to make the light not as overwhelming; but you'll still get oddly cast shadows if you're shooting at any time when the sun is out. Example: http://jade31891.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2wi7np This is where top shade comes in handy. Top shade is basically shade directly over your subject, that's blocking (but not completely eliminating!) sunlight. You can aquire Top Shade under buildings, bridge ways, or doorways but these building structures aren't always available to you. This is where we introduce the umbrella. Bring a friendly assistant, and a big black umbrella (you can get them anywhere for really cheap. http://www.amazon.com/American-Tour...WZ64/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1287541560&sr=8-3 there's a really cheap one for you that will work perfectly), and use that as your top shade. Tips: You may have to instruct your assistant! Look at the light, analyze where it's coming from and have the shade hoover directly over your subject. This means that the umbrella won't always (in fact most times it won't) be directly over your subject. For example: The Results: Top shading works wonders on outdoor portraits because by eliminating harsh shadows and bright highlights you'll bring out a natural warmth in your subject's skin tone. By doing that you'll also make your subjects look softer, smoother, and more gentle. Examples: (here the top shade is actually coming from the leaf)
Hmm. I mostly agree on everything you said but this. :p Mostly because it... kinda doesn't make sense to me? Can you elaborate? XD I dunno aren't shadows and highlights... lighting? If I have nice lighting effects that are nicely placed... Uhm... I dunno it just sounds a little confusing to me. :p
CnC? :)
First abstract in a while. I forgot how hard it is to like... start with nothing. XD
I love portraiture a lot more. I think because as humans we relate to human subjects a lot more, and concepts and such can be conveyed better through a face not too different from our own. And thank you! I actually really love the coffee one. Pretty proud of it. I posted the curves I used for it in the resources section which was... basically... all I did editing wise. XD That and burn and dodge slightly. My post production usually remains in a one layer duplicate, and 1-3 curves adjustments. :)
These are all my favourite shots I've taken as of 10/7/10. Some of these you've seen. Some of then you haven't. They've all been resized for the forum but I posted a link at the bottom to where you can view the full sized photos. As well as a link to my DA if you wanna give me some Luvv. :( In order from oldest to newest: To View Bigger versions View this Album: Click My DeviantArt Any comments/critique appreciated. :)
Haven't really been into tag making recently. These are just a few that kinda... leaked out of me? XD
Here are my own custom curve settings for you to use. These are mainly intended for photographers, but I suppose anyone using Photoshop can use them :D But the fun doesn't stop there! Try combining other settings for different results! Note: Results may vary. These curves were mainly intended for outdoor photography, and give the best result when accompanied by outdoor/nature shots. Download via Megaupload
From a cosplay perspective these are really nice. I'm actually REALLY impressed by the amount of likeness to the characters. Good costumes, good make-up. Really nice job there. From a photographer's perspective however... The poses are great, and it looks like you have a grasp of handling your models. The atmosphere and backgrounds however, are a little random and lack a sense of depth. If you're using a point and shoot then you can try blurring the backgrounds in post production. If you're using an SLR then I'd suggest playing around with your aperture F stops and DOF.
This can also be applied to gfx :) This tutorial is broken down into two simple segments and is really easy for photography post production :) Still can't get it right? Take a look at the PSD! Jade's note: So for some odd reason when I did post produced this, my computer was calibrated all wonky like and my contrast and brightness settings were all darker! As a result I may have over dodged some areas, but hopefully you guys still get the gist of things.
Interesting CnC. Thanks.
It's been a while since I smudged. I kinda smudged a lot here... Ooops. xD Cnc? :o
Number four makes me happy.
Misty- This one just seems technically better than the rest imo. Really nice lighting, and I love the smudging. I guess from a critical view I could say it looks a bit over sharpened, but... meh. I'm a sharpen whore. I like it ;D Beezygee- The colours are really attractive but the flow feels too linear to me which is one of my pet peeves. When flow is created especially through smudging, it should be more fluid rather than static imo. Also, floating head syndrome! Nevertheless, appealing colours, nice concept. Just needed better execution. Chev- It's alright but I've seen this style one too many times from you. The smudging (especially on her hair) looks too soft and it comes off as blurry. Also again with what I said about beesygee's entry, the smudging looks really linear and the flow comes off as static.
For the sake of balance. That and the point of clans is to encourage gfx activity despite having a small amount of people. Discouraging an attempt to start something (i think) is just... well... Discouraging! :p So that's my reason. Hope we have fun. :D
