I'm not a huge fan of the grainy texture, and as Chevalier said you could work a bit on shading. The colouring itself isn't at all too bad however. You did a pretty good job on that. =)
Naw. Axel is just a common name among nerdsso I didn't know if youwere one I knew or not.
Not much really. You? .... Who are you? D:
Just kinda put stuff around I guess.... D: ... holy crap I didn't smudge? xD
Thank you for that crit. I can agree with you on a lot of what you said. There are a couple things I don't agree on but I guess it's all about give and take. Either way, thank you. =)
I REALLY like your use of colours here. Those are just fantastic, however I'm not feeling the second bits underneath either of them. I really think just the top by itself is enough. =)
Hey... It's uhh... been a while! XD So April is my fifth month and as each month comes to an end I like to make a tagwall just to see stuff side by side in chronological order. A couple of these are fug... D: Lulz... Lady Gaga... My tag count isn't as impressive this month... D:
The colouring and smudging are excellent here. Wonderful job. As for smudging, this may be personal taste but you could try adding some more directional variation to it. Have some smudge lines go up and over instead of just all flowing in one direction (though it's not bad, and I really don't mind it that much here) The border is a bit distracting, but I do love the colours more in the second version. The border... meh, it just looks slapped, and I really kinda just go "Why is it even there?" ya know? Also in the second one, as much as I do love the colours, the lighting is a bit too strong, and I think that's cutting a bit of detail off of your focal's face. Great collab. Very nice. =)
Misty Laplace Jojoj13 Misty GMV. The smudging is just beautiful and the depth was done wonderfully. I love how the lighting effects the focal in this as well. Very nice work. Laplace- the colour variation is wonderful, and your smudging is excellent. The one and only thing that didn't win me over is the border at the bottom. It just looks decided to me. Still wonderful job, and my second choice. Jojoj13- I love the contrast in this and the text is alright. However I'm not exactly a fan of the stock position as I think it cuts off too short. The border doesn't exactly work either, and I think that may also be what's cutting the stock off too short. Still, nice work.
I like the direction and movement, and the font choice of your text is alright. I do think it's really monotone however, and that it could use some more colour variation. It's also lacking lighting, and depth, which both are generally essential in graphic art.
Thanks! :D
Sorry if it seems like I was undermining your CnC. Believe me, I wasn't. I apologize if my (I honestly can't think of a better word) opinion, comes off that way. :(
Hm... I'm not feelin' the text on this one. I think it's because it's just too far away from your focal's face, that in the end it just becomes distracting. So as far as text goes, I say just work on placement. Black and White for me. It could use some burning and dodging, to maybe give it some extra contrast. Otherwise, it has good depth, and the effects are pretty cool. =)
There's some good stuff going on here. It has some depth, and it looks like it follows the rule of thirds which is always good in my book. As for text... The best advice I can give you is to add it early on, and know where you're going with it. I know that may seem unorthodox but text is just one of those things that can make or break a sig, so you really have to at least know where you wanna go with it. I myself am by far not a master at text, but this advise helped me a lot. I'd say keep working on your basics, and experiment with them. It's always just about experimenting. =)
Well I've been lurking around here for the past... two months maybe? Thought I might as well join.
So April is my... Fifth month in designing now, and here's just some of mah stuff I thought I'd show you gaiz. Second SOTW entry ever. The text was god-aweful but I love the smudging. I forgot why I made this... One of my absolute faves. I started to get really friendly with the Smudge Tool. A request I completed on TKK's Graphics Shop Painted a planet from scratch here. It was inspired by a tag I saw somewhere but I can't place where I saw it now. D: Sig gift Right after I saw Avatar in 3D Another request in TKK's graphic shop First SOTW win... though somewhat undeserved D: Second SOTW win.... Also somewhat undeserved. And ew, Zach Efron? Sig Gift for epitaphB/Beebs/Blackbird of TKK Started to get more into making abstracts I just really like the depth in this one This one's a bit bigger so I'll just post the link. It was a collab between me and another design team member of TKK http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/8827/telephone.png Tourney entry that didn't meet the size or text req :( fallback entry though I wasn't a big fan of it. For an Imitation themed SOTW. ... They're for the most part in order of when I made them... FFF I'm done now. D:
I'm actually not sure if text would work here. It seems as if it's too far in to add text in my opinion. Sometimes last minute text just looks really decided and tacky if it's not at least planned ahead. That and it looks like there's some beautiful depth going on here, and text may actually take away from that. I wouldn't change the lighting either. It's pretty spot on I think. =) I do agree that it looks like a WIP, but that may be because of the size req (which was redonk gaiz. srsly). Really nice job overall.
Thank you! I will remember to keep my spam where it belongs. :) And baby... I'm cooler than Freeza's brother. Haha... Get it... Because... Haha... heh.. hm... D:
Hi there! I'm new here and I hail from TKK. Hope you guys take to me alright, and visa versa... Whatevs. I'll only take your candy if it's legit.
