Vaahg took this moment to try to catch Gangto off-guard. He had morphed into a wolf during the conversation and now lunged at Gangto, catching him by the throat. He locked his jaws and held on tight.
Russetfang dipped his head and then spoke. "I saw some squirrels when I was leading the dawn patrol. Should I go hunt for them?" Grayface lowered his head in submission and then replied. "Good morning." He came and sat down beside Lynkey, watching the river. After a few moments of silence he spoke. "I headed the dawn patrol and the noon patrol is set."

Well I guess since it was the next number(11....12....13) I mean it would make people suspicious if he skipped 13 just because it is perceived as unlucky. We really have no proof that the number is unlucky.
Grayface had just finished organizing the dawn patrol and padded out in search of his leader. The leaves on the ground made a crunching sound as Grayface stepped on them. He followed Lynkey's trail until he came upon him at the edge of the riverbanks. Russetfang stood at the entrance of the warrior's den, feeling the cool morning air on him. He yawned and stretched a little.
