When sat down at my computer one night A huge spider I saw in the glow of the light. Across my carpet it stalked imaginary prey, Where it had come from I just couldn't say. I leapt into action, container in hand Evicting the monster my grand master plan. On catching the spider, I hasten to add, Knowing I beat it made me quite glad. I carefully took it and released it outside With plenty of crevices and bushes to hide. My long legged visitor that gave me a fright Ran out of the container and into the night. Yes it really happened and the spider had a leg span of just over 1". I'm not scared of spiders though and I would never kill one.
Why does it happen? Why am I angry? Am I invisible? Does no one see me? I sit all alone and cry in my sleep. Yet no one else sees it, my secret I keep. I'm always the strong one, they'll say I'll survive, But locked in this nightmare anger keeps me alive. Yet out of the darkness, this fear without end Come candles of love and hope, good loving friends. Their warmth gives me courage, their help gives me hope. I know that thy're with me, they help me to cope, And so when I'm lonely their love sets me free, When life gets confusing they help me to see. In our modern age, we rely heavily on machines and gadgets. From cars, TVs and the computers that we are now posting from. Have we become so dependent on technology that society would cease without it? It seems that everyone carries a mobile phone, has some form of games system, has a TV and has access to the internet. Are we so dependent on technology that should disaster strike, we would be helpless?
