Adding to what you said, since many don't know about these shops. While driving down the street, look for any small shop kind of thing that says PC Repair or something along those lines, alot of times they will do simple console repair(drive replacement, etc) for a cheap price.
simple enough, problem solved, thread closed. pm me if you need it reopened
First off, it might not be an issue at all with the ps3, is the area you have it well vented for airflow? My friend kept his INSIDE his entertainment unit in his dorm and it did this same exact thing after awhile. Make sure its got pletny of space on the vents to allow airflow, it could be a case of overheating.... If this doesnt work, I would suggest using a usb stick to save all of your game data. If you need to, call Best Buy, and ask their Geek Squad, though I would advise against using Geek Squad/FireDog/etc, as their labor fees are way over priced IMO. I know that when I worked for BB's Geek Squad, we didn't really mess with consoles, it was kind of an at call thing, we would do it if we felt like doing it, and avoid it at all other costs. Things could have changed, its been a year and a half. Also, look in your owner's manual for a Customer Service helpline from Sony, and talk to a representative there.
since you got the help you needed, I'll close this for now to prevent spam. PM me if you need it re-opened.
Chances are, you got it for 14.99 because its A) Used and possibly no good B) A discontinued item, that will have no software updates thats needed C) A scam Now, don't get me wrong, good deals do come once in a while that are perfectly legit, I just wouldnt hold my breath for it. If the site itself says their product may damage your ds, not work, or whatever, I would NOT be using them....
my suggestions: Antivirus: AVG-Free Spyware: Spybot Search & Destroy Thats what I use, have never had any problems, very easy interface, both are free. pm me if you need this opened again, for now though im closing it as you've been sufficiently helped.
your still alive?? =O tou gotta call meh when you get the chance -_- oh I know right?
hey if you knew what happened to me the last few days or so, you'd be glad I was joking and laughing instead of being all *emoslit* <_< >_>
some background story: ok so I went to meet a friend on like tuesday and I always yell "FALCON PUNCH!! SURPRISE ABORTIONS!!! and pretend like I punch her in the stomach we all laugh as she fake falls to the ground and writhes in pain screaming things like "you killed my fetus!" its all fun and hahaha, to us, a big joke well she calls me today and goes "Jes....Im...im pregnant..." to which I replay "Oh nuh uh! I never touched you girlfriend, I want a paternity test, wheres maury!!" she stops me and goes "No...I am being serious this time Jes...I'm ****ing pregnant!" so my next thought, that I just so happen to say out loud is "So uhhh...wanna come over today and I'll falcon punch you...?" followed by a looong 10-15 min silence
yarly, you deny my beep for you?
oh you know it *wink wink*
Cupcake has a very FUNNY Helium voice... that is all.

for the win!!!!
Obama and McCain were both good men and the fact that they both truly want to change the country for the better is what matters. "I hope McCain follows through and keeps trying to work with the new president, and make a true effort. America needs to better itself, both for our future children, and for our future relations with the other countries. I voted for Obama, yes, but only because I felt he was more capable as a man to promote and push these changes, hell the country has taken a large step just electing him. He is the very first african-american, or black, or whatever you want to call him. It doesnt matter. Color of the skin has nothing to do with politics you might add, but it DOES have alot to do with traditions and 'taboos'. Think of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would say if he had been alive today, how PROUD he would be to see this historic step. I think Obama is just exactly what this country will need to get out of it's rut.
I see alot of hating on teenage moms, people saying their ****s and whatnot. my mom got pregnant with me, if my calculations are right, november 1984, had me august 1985, her birthday is january 7th, making 14 years old when she got preg with me, 15 when she actually birthed me. she struggled, dropped out of school, worked 3 jobs every day while my dad got drunk and got other women pregnant...so it kind of upsets me for people to put down teenage girls that get pregnant, because I tell you, no woman, in my opinion deserves more respect and more props. It may have taken her a long time, but she graduated highschool, went to college eventually, and is now the head medical assistant in the clinic she works in, a little 14 year old girl, who everyone said should get an abortion, she fought to give me and all my brothers the best lives possible, she worked herself to the bone, so really, you should rethink that 'all teenage preggored girls are ****s' idea.My mom has had ONE partner her entire life, thats my father. They are together to this day(though thats not necessarily a good thing) and she loves him dearly. if being 38 years old with only one sexual partner makes you a ****....then I would be a regular whore by now... I admire that woman with all my heart and honestly, when I have kids, I hope I could be half as good of a parent as she was to me.
