Judge the story for it being bad in your opinion? That's fine. Make posts saying this is wrong because of "X, y, z" tragedy, and I think you are full of it (not you specifically). How many movies, books, comics, tv shows, etc, have come out and in some way shape or form the death/killing is what makes people like it? A lot. If that is the case, then why aren't we up in arms about the death in all forms of media? Just because it has some form of historical reference, doesn't make it any better or worse. Don't get me wrong the holocaust was terrible, fcking terrible. But news flash, so is ordinary death that nobody seems to give a fuck about anymore. All I am saying is you can't say "this is wrong" but only say it to a selective group of things, only to exclude others because you either like it or don't care enough. If we wanna talk about why the holocaust was bad, and how perhaps this particular comic isn't respecting that, then let's do it. I'd love to talk about how not many people actually give a damn about these tragedies, and only seem to care when it lines up with their agenda/benefits them. Oh wait did I say that out loud? This happens all the time. It used to happen back when I was on youtube. If I can recall correctly there was this big fiasco with this girl who (unfortunately) ended her life due to bullying (now this was years ago). Everyone was up in arms talking about how bullying is bad and we need to stop it. They made great videos with commentary about how it is wrong, how they feel about it, and how we can potentially change it for the better, but in due time nobody said a word about it afterwards. Almost like they don't actually care. I'm not saying that nobody actually cares about these important subjects, its just hard to believe that the majority does when they only talk about it when it is trendy. Look at Donald Trump for example. It becomes trendy to make fun of the guy (not saying its right or wrong, he does say some outlandish things), but when it became popular to do so, all of a sudden everyone in my age group wants to talk about the health of this country and how Trump is going to ruin it....Like what the actual phuck? Where the heck were those people BEFORE. Cold as it may sound, but if you give it time, a large majority of these people will go back to not caring about the holocaust.
If anything this Captain America thing is just another example of people SELECTIVELY getting mad about something. The amount of thrills people get over war, death, tragedies, etc through various types of media (comics, books, movies, tv, etc) is overwhelming. Saying that this is appalling or insulting to those with family who were in the holocaust holds no water when you turn around and go enjoy other types of media that glorify killing, violence, death, etc. Either you actually give a **** about this, and back it up with your actions. Or you are just another person standing on their ivory tower.
I never said it had to be nicer. A condo/house/something you actually own to live in can be one of the better investments one makes in a lifetime.
Sounds great minus the apartment. Not actually owning a place to live during your lifetime is a drag.
The party just started.
No, it's actually a form of pain management mixed with a way to "calm down" the neurons firing off like crazy in my head. Luckily I don't need narcotics (well I could take them but we found an alternative treatment). They are injections actually, and I get them in my head neck and shoulders. Without them my severe head pain comes back, along with the stress and loss of sleep that comes with it. No sleep + stress + pain = a nightmare for someone who gets seizures. So these are pretty much mandatory for me to function like a "regular person". Unfortunately my insurance isn't going to cover this forever. Even then they don't fully cover it all the time. They actually bugged me about it yesterday (into today) but we got it taken care of. Now they are going to call me before every treatment. Oh and before I was also taking tegretol (the meds I got cleared for in my week long "testing session" at the hospital). Problem with that is it can be harsh on the liver. I haven't taken it for about a year now, thank god. The injections (won't say the name publicly, it's embarrassing believe it or not) are enough to suppress my pain and seizures. To be honest it's not as big of a deal as you'd imagine. I'll take injections over not being able to function and being reduced into a person that isn't me. You want to know what Luxord was like without this treatment...look at me around the time I was banned. That was shortly after my accident if I recall. I was an effing mess. Not defending my actions 100%. I was an ass before that, but this messed with my head in ways I'd do anything to prevent.
Yes it was an emergency. Basically they refused a certain seizure medication unless they had documented "proof". The thought of the whole process was incredibly disturbing. It was a 24/7 audio/video monitoring room built specifically for this line of test. The whole floor was for those with neurological issues. I had like five bracelets on with big letters saying that I wasn't to leave. Not to mention the alarms my room and bed bad. Also couldn't go to the bathroom with the door closed and without someone in my room. It was a crazy process and it sucked (especially because of the cost as well) but it got my seizures to stop. Luckily I only need my treatment every 3-6 months so my liver won't be a mess when I'm 40. BUT HEY. STORY TIME WITH LUXORD. MMMYEAH
Happened to me after my car accident. Due to the urgency of the matter we didn't have many options. The week stay plus tests costed over 10 grand.
Yes but without the study being done correctly it neither proves nor suggests anything accurately. At best what you did was look up "sources" to back your claim. Searching for something to prove that you are correct isn't valuable to the conversation. Heck you can do that with anything (even if you are wrong). How am I grasping at straws when you are the one posting lack luster "proof" to support your claim. I am giving you different angles and things to look at when it comes to this particular subject. It's rather disturbing that you'll ignore the flaws of this entire study because "why would a university lie about something". I'll leave it at that since you don't really care about the quality/validity of your sources.
"MAY have negative effects on brain function" Also it should be mentioned that there are far too many outliers to say that this study (or any similar study of this nature) actually proves anything. On top of that I don't see anything in that article that says it's a double blind study, nor do I see anything about how many people participated in the study. Without such information this is nothing more than mere speculation. You don't know if the people who started the study. Are they biased? What about the people who are funding it. How much of a hand do they have in it? And about the group of people being tested. Were they all in the same state of health? Genetics perhaps, is that not a factor? Also the whole standardized test thing is hilarious. Have you ever been to a neurologist? I have :) in fact I've taken some of those cognitive responses tests (along with a plethora of other ones, pretty much every one of them in the book). Funny thing about that test. I scored lower than what my neurologist would have hoped for and yet I've maintained a 4.0 in my last three semesters in college. I've vastly improved since my car accident so it is safe to say that some of those tests my neurologist wanted to do didn't really say much about my brain activity.
Yes and I am more than aware that hospitals will not hesitate to send you bills in the 5 digit range, which judging by the fact that they haven't done that to you. I would be pretty damn thankful.
Feel free to add me. Username: Rufus Shinra Currently sitting around low Gold because I switched from being a support main to mostly playing top and jungle. I also play a ton of ARAM.
I can only really talk from experience but be thankful your medical bills won't be 4-5 digits. If it's under that (in today's day and age) then you lucked out. If I were in your position I would pay what you need to (assuming it isn't like 10 grand), because at the end of the day money is useless if you don't have your health. Best of luck.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the details all that much, I was just simply chiming in as I have first hand experience with the subject.
One doesn't wake up from a seizure generally. Speaking as one who has had a variety of them
Says who though? If anything it sounds like you are just making this up. "You are less likely to learn about 'X' because you aren't doing it 'this' way." You are allowed to have whatever opinion you want, but don't throw in fake "statistics" or "facts" as a way to defend your point. Like why are people more likely to depend on GPS after learning a certain route with it? If the route was complicated enough and they were using a traditional map, would they not need to reference the map several times to figure out where they should be going? They are both the same tool, one is just updated and gives more detailed information (accident alerts, upcoming school zone alerts, traffic alerts, etc).
Well if you can honestly put up with cardio equipment at a gym, then I would go with that. The tracking can be disturbingly precise. For a few months I was mapping out my weight loss, among other things and thanks to the tracking on the cardio equipment I was accurate most of the time.
This. Cutting out extra sugar makes life 1000x times easier, and it is also one of the more safe ways to do things. Cutting out protein, carbs, and fats is just laughably stupid. Macro-nutrients are very important, and cutting one of them out isn't the quick way to lose weight. I can't even begin to count how many times people have thought that cutting out fat or carbs is the way to "lose weight and get healthy." Of course that doesn't mean that cutting out red meat is a terrible idea. For example back when I was absurdly obsessed with fitness (running close to 10-15 miles 5 days a week) I ate mainly chicken as one of my sources of protein, and it worked out very well for me. I got my carbs, fats, and proteins all in safe and balanced numbers, and did my best to be rid of any extra sugar. The other thing to keep in mind is that unless you (you meaning whoever is reading this) actually WANT to exercise or eat healthy, you are going to have a very bad time. it was only once I found great joy in exercising/health did I make any decent long term goals. I've used various apps for tracking thing in the past, but during my most successful period I just found a routine that both felt right, and it was something that I knew worked in the long term. The best stuff I've used (unfortunately) involve gym equipment when you punch in your info and whatnot, although to many that stuff can get boring since you are basically just running or walking in place for like an hour or so. Wish I could help more, but yeah that's my experience with that kind of stuff.
