Level: 24 - Location: Town of Peace Emma had spent the 6 months not training so much, but simply living the life that was offered inside the virtual reality. There she'd never had the pressures of schooling, of her parents breathing down her neck to get into the job they wanted her to do, or anything like that. It was relieving in some ways. She hadn't talked to many people, but had instead started up a blacksmithing shop. In the 6 months that she'd had away from a lot of the fighting, she'd made a fair chunk of progress and her blacksmithing as well as armorsmithing skills were coming along quite nicely. However, the biggest change to everything had certainly been her social life. To most people in Summon Arc Online, she was an unknown face, or simply known as "The Blacksmith" to some, but to the few that did know her she had found herself becoming good friends with her. In fact, one particular person hadn't even stopped at friends. Only two days ago she'd been asked out. Emma had never been asked out before, and so she was really nervous. She'd dressed rather casually (and had spent hours trying to figure out whether or not she was too overdressed or underdressed) and had eventually made her way to the small virtual park that they'd agreed to meet at, and there she sat, simply waiting at a bench for Bryce to drag his sorry ass over to the park. Level: 30 - Location: Ant's Nest Samuel, unlike many other players, had not signed up for a guild or any sort of organization. He'd spent much of the six months in intense training, going from camp to camp and fighting various NPCs to gain experience. It was a slow, painful process, but he had eventually done it. He'd hit level 30, which given the time-frame and the lack of a party for the entire time was impressive indeed. As his swords slashed through the last ant he was fighting, he sat down and wiped the sweat off of his brow. The game sure did make exhaustion feel as real as life itself. After taking a moment to gain his breath back, he pulled out a teleport crystal. "Teleport: Town of hope" he said simply, before a blinding blue light enveloped him and the pixels were transferred back to the town of hope. Samuel knew the exact spot he needed to go to. Going towards one of the blacksmith shops, he intended on seeing about a new sword. His Katana was powerful, but perhaps he could trade out his other blade for a better one, or at least she could tell him how to upgrade the other one. Either way, anything helped. However, when he got there he saw a note pinned to the door. Upon reading it he knew that the shop was closed early for the day due to personal reasons. Well, that sucked. Where was he going to find out how to improve it now? He thought for a moment about how he upgraded the other one. Right, there had been a weapon evolution potion used, but unfortunately he didn't have one of those. About a minute later, the button in his mind marked 'idea' was pressed, and the imaginary lightbulb lit up on command. Why didn't he just go see if it were in the potion store? He was certain they wouldn't sell it at any regular store, but perhaps the girl who ran the store, <Seth's Angel>, could tell him either how to create one, where to buy one, or who would perhaps know where to buy one. It was a long shot, but he needed to take a break from his mindless slaughter anyway. And so he made his way towards the potion store he'd visited maybe once or twice in the last six months, where he knocked on the door and awaited a response.
Zach shrugged his shoulders as Teliana asked him about his preference of the location that the potion would be made. "Doesn't bother me either way. How about my place? That way, whatever effect the potion has on me at least happens in an environment I'm comfortable with" he suggested. Truth be told, his mind wasn't functioning at an amazing level after seeing both Teliana being frightened and the murder attempt on her, or at least what he assumed was a murder attempt. He didn't remember exactly what the potion was, but he'd talked with the mage enough times to have at least a little trust in her. Yana smiled at Annabelle's obedience. She was such a good little minion, and the fact she always referred to her as 'your greatness' was one of few reasons that the psychotic witch hadn't attempted to burn her to ashes. "Bet'cha wondering why we're here and not back at the camp. I figured I'd stop and say hi to my sister, give me a minute" Yana stated as she skipped away a short distance. Inside the cave they'd just been in had been where Yana's sister had been cornered and murdered some time ago, but the gravestone itself was not inside. As she got closer, not particularly caring if Annabelle was following or not, her skipping and grin gradually lessened, until eventually the girl had an incredibly serious look on her face and showed it in her movements. The gravestone had more words than most would have on them. It read "Here lies Hope Aegrum. She was the first to fall, and the last one to be accidental. I will burn them all. Every one of them". This was the message etched on there in messy scratches. It was by no means a perfect grave, but given an eight year old had made the grave, it was impressive. Hope was the one person whom Yana would never, ever revive. Not after the way she'd died. While Yana had been confronted over it, she'd never admitted it to the townspeople. They had found Hope's charred body and gone after her, and rather than apologize as her sister would, Yana had embraced the psycopath within and claimed it was completely intentional. It hadn't been. Taking one more look at the grave, Yana hurled a fireball at a bird that had just landed on it, causing the creature to explode into black flames before falling over, dead. The tips of the girl's mouth curving into a small smile before she spun around and coughed. "MINION" she barked, before chuckling a little. Having an apprentice was fun, why didn't more people do it? She pointed at the ground before her. "Portal. Make. Go. If ya make it properly, I'll make your medicine and I'll give you a day where you can do whatever you like, doesn't that sound fun?" she asked, almost rhetorically. Well, Callum knew one thing about Tessa; she wasn't very good at assuming things. She'd said she could tell he was sorry, and if that were true then she was exceptionally good at reading people, given Callum most certainly did not feel sorry for the deaths of her parents. He was standing there covered in dried blood, looking extremely unamused. Did he look sorry? However, telling her that wouldn't really change anything. He had to admit, the Witcher felt a little curious about why he wasn't allowed to follow Seth, Zack and Bryce. Maybe if Tessa thought he was a nice Witcher and sympathetic she'd let him in. Not likely, but what else did he have to do? Go back to drinking when it had little to no effect on him? "My name's Callum, how about yours?" he asked, already detesting the idea of casual conversation.
Sven was remarkably confused by the food that Cierra had found and tried to consume. So where they were had an obsession with food that wasn't actually food? "Surely it can't be that bad" he stated as he gently grabbed the box with the powder in it and poured some of it on his hand. He dipped a finger into the powder and tasted it, and it really was that bad. As luck would have it, he felt a sneeze coming on, and a few seconds later he released a powerful one and sent the powder up into the air, much of it getting onto his face. He paused for a moment as his mind caught up with what just happened, simply blinking twice. He felt more than a little embarassed, but continued on. Reaching a little further into the cupboard, his hand gripped onto something, and as he retracted his arm he realized that it was a reasonably large box, warm to the touch. He put the warm box on the bench and gazed at it for just a minute as he tried to make out what it was. "Evidently in this world, Cierra, they are so advanced they have the ability to make houses for living creatures using just this small box. This is what is called a pizza hut. Now, I'm curious about how it works so I'm going to open it" he said, opening the box and causing the aroma of freshly made pizza to come into his nostrils. He inhaled deeply, enjoying the smell. "Or it could just be a different kind of pizza. Either way, I think we just found our food" Sven said. "No, not a clue" Shane said, brought out of his deep thought by Axel placing a sheet of paper with writing on it in front of him. He debated telling Axel more about his own situation, and at first he wasn't going to do it, and then he had a realization; powers didn't seem to work there, so Axel couldn't do much about it anyway. Since he seemed to lack the ability to speak, chances are he wouldn't even be able to tell others. And when Shane's powers came back, if Axel knowing about them caused any problems, he could always just use them to make him forget they ever happened. "Before all this, I was a telepath. Had the ability to read minds and such, but since coming here I haven't heard anything from anyone's head. It's kind of nice, actually, but makes me a little uneasy" the boy said, attempting to give a little more information. Christie wasn't entirely sure, but in a time like it was, a person who was needed was someone who was courageous and leaderly. Someone who knew what to do, or at least sounded like they did. They needed someone who could quickly analyze the situation and figure out the best course of action, and someone who could help keep the peace. Unfortunately, Christie was not like that at all so she simply shrugged her shoulders. "Not much we can do, I think" the girl said. @Aelin FireHeart @mindstorm787 @Magick @whateverHoT'snameisrightnow
Zach had long abandoned the chickens. They weren't going to get fat anytime soon, and even if they were he didn't really feel like eating them. I mean, he kind of needed them to make money. And so he had made his way into the small town, arms folded behind his head as he walked along. Gods, today had been such a slow day. He needed something to do, and he needed it quick. Fortunately, or rather unfortunately, he saw a woman being dragged down as though the dead were trying to claim her as one of their own. And apparently nobody else was willing to do anything. There were plenty of people around, but they all looked horrified and as though they were going to pass out at any moment, pale as the undead themselves that were reviving. While the idea of being buried alive and dragged to hell by a horde of zombies was not an appealing one to Zach, in fact it terrified him to no end, but was he going to stand by and watch another innocent person have that happen to them? No, especially not when he actually knew the person. Quick as a...uh...something that was very quick LIKE A MONGOOSE THANK YOU MAGICK, the werewolf in human form dove into the fray with his dagger unsheathed. In the span of about not even a minute, the work was done. Amidst several growls Zach had cut off every single arm, leg and other bits of undead that had been clinging to his friend, making her completely free from the undead threat and no longer being even so much as touched by one of them. With that being completed, Zach bent down and looked straight at Ana, concern in his eyes being evident. "Well, this isn't what I expected to see when I came into town today. Are you okay, Ana?" the werewolf asked.
"Hardly a friend, more just a paid acquaintance, if anything" Callum stated bluntly. He watched Seth carefully as the man squeezed Tesa's butt, and he began silently hoping the girl cried out or at the very least felt remarkably uncomfortable by the gesture. He was hoping for that mainly for amusement, but more than that he was looking for an excuse to cut him apart there and then. The gestures he made, the way he spoke, they reminded Callum of the way his father had been, and he hated his father. Besides, he was paid to protect Bryce and nobody else, and even that was on shaky terms right at that moment. Yana held up the mushroom in front of her to show the little girl. She was standing at her full height, much taller than Annabelle; she wasn't going to crouch down to the girl's level, she was way more awesome than her minion and saw no reason to put herself on her level. "Of course you'll get clothes, you can't walk around naked forever. I mean, you can but you won't. After I use this to make a potion, you should feel much better, then we'll go get clothing and then after that we'll continue training. Sounds fun right?" the young witch asked. She turned and began creating a portal, and after a few minutes she had succeeded. The portal didn't lead very far, just to outside of the cave, but walking was for poor people.
As the thorns shot towards Hunter, he held his blade in front of him in an attempt to stop them from harming him, but the thorns were incredibly powerful and caused him to stagger slightly on impact, making their way past his defences and stabbing right into him. The searing pain was incredible, and yet Hunter stood there doing what he could to not show signs of feeling the pain. It was tough, and he did grimace once or twice from the pain, but after a few moments the thorns retracted and returned to the creature that had used them. God, if he had to rate how painful he'd made it seem he probably would've put it at a 5/22. Taking his sword and holding it in a more ready position, he completely ignored Neoph's comment (as he often did) to help the people, and simply dove forward towards the creature as he slashed with all his might.
Callum said very little as he walked along with the others. He was beginning to regret agreeing to not kill them. Well, beginning wasn't the right term. It was more a case of he was simply really regretting it. At least they were paying him though, but that brought about another question; was there enough money in the world to pay him to not kill these people? Apparently the answer was yes, but it was mainly due to Callum liking the idea of having more money. "If she comes looking for you, I'm not going to stand in her way. I'm not being paid nearly enough for that" he said, providing his stance on that matter immediately. Better to get that out of the way and let it sink in than to have them get too drunk to remember anything, as is what seemed to be happening. As Teliana and William left, Yana had shrugged her shoulders and continued her adventure into the cave. There was no point getting annoyed at it, for though it was frustrating her toys had left there wasn't much she could do about it. She didn't get very far before she found exactly what she was looking for. It was a small mushroom, almost stuck to the side of one of the walls in a deep, dark corner. Picking up the mushroom, she grabbed it and made her way back to Annabelle. Tapping on the small shield thing her apprentice had made, Yana spoke. "Minion, I found the thingy I needed. The mushroom that's going to make you aaaall better" she said, before simply waiting for Annabelle to let down her shield so they could actually move on.
Level 5 Emma nearly died of shock as Bryce knocked all the goblins away with a single strike. Good god how high was his strength stat? It didn't matter though, all that mattered was she was still alive. She got up and gave a quick 'thank you' to Bryce, before picking up her shotgun, her arms shaking a little. Emma wasn't one to be frightened easily, if at all, but after such a close encounter with death...she was a little shaken up. She stood there for a moment, simply lost in thought about what had just transpired. They'd just beaten a boss and gained quite a few levels, which was extremely helpful, but more importantly a large portion of the players that had been fighting had all had a name displayed beneath their username. It was the name of that guild she'd wanted to join, wasn't it? She couldn't join them, not just yet. To leave Bryce and Tessa after only just meeting them, and more to the point was Bryce saving her life, to abandon them so quickly didn't sit right with the girl. "So once we find your sister, we need to figure out another way to continue levelling, I think" she suggested, not willing to talk about her terrifying ordeal and simply wanting to move on.
Akari laughed a little at Zack's comment about Tessa needing a bath, but stopped quickly. "Titans can go by smell, you're correct on that front, so something that renders you invisible isn't very useful without it. But, that's where this comes into play" Akari stated. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bottle of what seemed to be perfume. The perfume itself seemed to have a brown colouration to it. "I could spray this on you to get the full effect of titan immunity, but I don't think I will. See, we don't have to completely mask our scent to titans, just cover it with something else. Spray some of this on you and it's going to make you smell like pig poop for a bit. Not the most pleasant of smells, but it's better than being eaten by a titan. Speaking of shits and people that shouldn't be trusted with this, has anyone seen Hunter today? He was going to help me test something I was working on, but I haven't seen him" Akari asked. Drake was fighting off three people at once. As each one lunged forward with an attack, he would parry the strike or dodge and respond with his own. He hadn't been killing though, rather he had been knocking guards unconscious with the flat side of his blades. At least six humans were unconscious around him, but he was feeling it. After that stunt he'd pulled earlier as well as the lack of resting since the titan attack earlier, he was tired and breathing heavily. As Flame and Gale left, despite Flame's protesting, Drake began looking for Veera to see if she had gotten out too. She hadn't. As Drake prepared for another attack, he took a quick glance at the numbers around them. Despite their numbers being thinned a little, they still had him surrounded, and now that Flame and Gale had left they had even more to focus on the two that remained. Knowing they were defeated, Drake put down his 3DMG as a sign of surrender. He instead stood there and listened to what the supposed leader had to say. He felt his blood boil by the way he spoke of the fae, and it took a tremendous amount of willpower to not leap forward and begin fighting back once again when he saw him shove his finger into Veera's wound. It was the scream that really pushed him though. The scream of pain, of sheer agony being released by someone he thought of as a friend. In an instant, he began the assault once more. One of the guards standing by him never saw it coming. Quickly, he elbowed the guard in the side and grabbed the man's sword. He rushed forward as two guards attempted to stop him from getting to the leader, but a nimble dodge saw both of them miss their attacks and the scout leader continued running forward. The leader turned just a fraction of a second too late, his own weapon getting knocked out of his hands as he was disarmed and Drake continued the swing of the sword. It got within an inch of the leader's neck in what was clearly intended as a decapitation when suddenly the sword dropped to the ground, only a second before Drake's unconscious body followed suit, hit from behind by an attentive guard that would surely be getting a promotion after finally putting down the troublesome swordsman.
Shane uses small red potion on Tessa
Skadi looked at the small rock she held in her hand. This rock was meant to represent Snow White's heart in the halloween story thing. She had off-screen cut out the heart and put it inside of a box that she had laid on the ground. Picking up the box now, she put the rock in it and then took a whole two steps to the side. If it were a movie, there would've been a transition or something to indicate travel, but due to budgeting they simply couldn't afford that. "My queen, I have returned to you bearing the heart of Snow White. I request you do not ask me how I obtained this, for I do not truly know myself, but...here" the ice mage said, putting the box gently on the ground. "He's the traitor? I'm sorry who is the one threatening death?" Gexln asked rhetorically. He readied his blade and prepared to attack. "With the amount of bullshit that you're pulling I'll be surprised if you're even capable of leading after this. Attempted murder, cancelling someone else's mission without their permission, and picking on a guy just because he points out your stupidity? You're lucky we have Evanora as a guild master, any other guild master would've actually done something about it by now" the dragon slayer said, leaping forward and attacking with shadow dragon's claw. Gexln used Shadow Dragon's Claw! Gaius used Binding Strike!
Shane used Psionic inundation!
"Get out of here, now!" Drake yelled to his friends and comrades. It wasn't a request, but an order. He parried a strike of one of the guards' swords with his own blade, before responding with a swift kick, sending the man stumbling backwards. He could have taken the opportunity to finish the man off, but just as he was about to strike he heard the unsheathing of another blade. Drake spun around and prevented the attack with a swing of his blades, before dodging and rolling to the side to avoid the attack. "If you even think of hurting them, I swear with god as my witness that I will cut down every last one of you" the man said through gritted teeth, bloodrage in his eyes. As one of the guards broke away from the mass around him and went after Flame, Drake hurled his blade at his enemy's feet, causing the blade to stick into the guard's foot as he yelled out in pain. Rushing over, the leader of the scouts swung the flat side of his sword at his opponent's skull, knocking the guard out as he ripped his sword out of his foot and turned to face the onslaught of attacks being directed at him. He had to keep them as focused on him as he was able to, to give the others a good chance of survival. He wasn't going to lose another soldier. "Okay okay, you can take the thing off now" Akari stated, looking slightly unamused at the brown lock of hair and its owner enjoying it just a little too much. While it was amazing that the thing worked, it was still only a prototype and needed more adjustments. One of which was the weight of the cloak, or the clunkiness rather. Maybe it was just Tessa in particular, but Akari had noticed the time it'd taken to get used to it. Movement against the titans was the only advantage they really had, so it was one of the most important factors.
Akari shook her head in disbelief at Griffin's words, but as the king went to intervene she did decide to drop it, at least as best as she could. Everyone moved into a line and awaited her instructions. Here she was being waited on in a position of power, to an extent. Would her parents be proud of how far she'd come? Shrugging off the thought, she walked over to the side of the field and grabbed the cloak that I'm assuming was there, before walking back over to the line of people. "Alright, first you have to hold out your arms" she said to Tessa. She waited until that was done, and then simply dumped the cloak into her arms. "Now, put this cloak on. It should bend the light around you to an extent so that effectively you're invisible" Akari instructed. It dawned on her that the others would probably be expecting something to do, but what was there to give them? "Since this piece of equipment makes the wearer invisible, I want you to all practice looking like a ninja. If I can see any of you, you've failed. Okay? Go. I'll come get you when it's your turn" the genius instructed. ****, Flame was stabbed. She was stabbed and it was his fault. Getting a little closer, Drake hurled one of the 3DMG swords straight at one of the assailants. It didn't hit them, but instead landed nearby them. Using his remaining hook he flew at them at an angle, and as he got nearby them he kicked the sword up so that he sent it spinning straight at one of the attackers as the scout leader landed on the ground, skidding to a halt. As the blade spun towards the male, Drake tossed the other sword high into the air, before firing the hook of his 3DMG at it and latching onto the edge of the blade, something many had thought impossible to do. Drake wasn't finished though, indicated by him slamming his arm holding onto the hook downwards, causing the other sword to slam down at an incredible speed straight on top of the male.
"Well duh she needs help, that's why I'm teaching her! I don't have a price, she's mine, so quit trying to buy her or whatever you're doing. You're boring me, just get out of my way so I can get her the medicine and then i'll go and torch a village somewhere else or something" Yana said, getting sick of the conversation going on between them. She just wanted to heal Annabelle and then go kill a few people, razing their villages and all...was that really so much to ask for? Callum was intrigued by this other man. He just walked up and gave this other guy money, as though they were friends or something. That was impossible, Dopplers didn't have friends did they? They just went from body to body doing whatever they pleased, not caring who they hurt. It must have been some kind of ruse. Nonetheless, Callum didn't have much of a choice. "We have a deal. But if that guy" he said, jerking his thumb in the direction of Seth, "calls me an emo looking ****** again, I'm going to cut his dick off and force feed it to him before killing him. Nothing personal, just business" he said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.
Tobias ignored the burning sensation that resounded throughout his chest as the girl put her heated hands against it. At first he thought she was making some kinda move on him, then it dawned on him that she probably wasn't. He was right, and he found himself nodding. "A-alright" he said, purposely putting on a stutter as though he were scared. He looked at the throwing knives in his hand, and for a brief moment he contemplated giving up the charade and simply using his claws; weapons he was considerably more comfortable using. He was good at throwing the knives, but this thomas guy he was pretending to be didn't sound as though he'd be trained in anything combat related. The boy waited a minute for the footsteps to get closer, and then just as the figure got close, he dove out at them and attempted to stab them in the neck with a throwing knife in each hand. "If the priest guy you're wanting dead is the guy I'm thinkin' of, I'm pretty sure he goes around to a few houses in this area, funnily enough. He always comes in there, then leaves with a really satisfied smirk on his face, I think he's goin' in there and charging people taxes or getting them to donate to a false god. But yeah, I know 'im. Place is here, time limit's...hmm...three hours. Yeah, that should be fine. I'll be sure to leave behind a finger or two for you when I've killed him just so you know how close you came, alright?" Hunter asked, before picking up his sword. He was going to win this thing damnit, no matter how many people he had to kill to do it. He could never let himself be beaten by a woman, what would his friends that he didn't have say? He then took off in the direction of one of the mentioned houses, leaving Veera to play with herself or do whatever she desired while he went to hunt down a priest.
"Very well then. I'll let you get on your way, thank you for conveying the message in advance" Drake replied, not noticing that someone was missing. He turned and prepared to leave, when something caught his eye. It was only for a brief second, but as he'd spun around he was sure he'd seen someone brandishing steel. Looking off to the side slightly, his suspicions were confirmed as he saw Veera attacking a woman who seemed to be assaulting them. What on earth had happened? Had she recognized Flame as a Fae? Or recognized Veera as someone who had once lived there? Or did she know that Drake himself was the son of the great general Daniel Famoye and had a grudge against him? His father, while he had been incredibly powerful and respected, had once had a reputation for being ruthless and endangering lives to achieve results. Immediately, Drake fired his hook at the building ahead and began swinging towards the trio. He could see Gale nearby, and he hoped that Gale would be able to get there faster than he. He knew that Veera was capable of defending herself, as was Flame, but he'd never forgive himself if either of them got hurt, especially the princess. He only wished that he was faster. Damnit, damnit! he thought, swinging as fast as he was able to towards the two women. If he was a little closer he could attempt to help with one of the 3DMG swords by using it as a projectile, but at the distance he was at he'd just as likely hit one of them. It was far too risky. Akari stood there, bewildered as she listened to Griffin's words. He'd said it was nice to meet her, so she knew he hadn't meant what he said as an insult, but even so...the king, who was fae, was right there. "Too happy and carefree to be a fae? Do fae have to be sad and mopey? The hell is wrong with you? Nobody thinks that! You are living in a small colony of creatures that have nowhere else to go, a colony that the vast majority of it isn't human!" The girl yelled as she pulled back her arm, but rather than just slap his face she sent a knuckle sandwich straight at it. She stopped herself just an inch away from where she imagined his nose to be, her arm shaking a little. She wanted to hit him. She wanted to hit him so badly. He reminded her so very much of the way people had spoken of her mother, before she...she.. "Don't ever make it sound like we're anything less than we are. I know you're saying what you believe others think, but if it bothers you so much you should put in an effort to change it, and if it doesn't bother you than you are just as bad as them. They hide behind others, but you hide behind that mask of yours" Akari spoke, clearly seething as she slowly put her arm next to her side.
Shane used Mind Reading because his rper cant be ****ed to write more of a post before he has to leave.
"Oh right you're sick" the witch said as Annabelle got all sick and stuff. Stepping back a little as the girl used her magic, Yana spun around and looked at Teliana and William. "She has actual clothes, and she'll get more after we've got her medicine. I'm teaching her, making her powerful, and then she won't ever have to be scared of anything again, but if she breaks the rules I have to punish her. It's simple, even your heads should be able to wrap around it" Yana explained. She wanted to toss another fireball at William, but knew Ana would be able to stop it. They almost cancelled each other out really, it was almost annoying. Almost as annoying as Frosty bringing up the mage council. She hadn't even responded to that, why would she? She hated the mage council. Callum nearly laughed at the man's suggestion to get a woman. "Dating isn't for me" he said, attempting to keep his voice somewhat calm. What'd he care if the guy killed him? He'd be almost doing him a favour. The fact Zack was just trying to live his life didn't appeal to him, either. "A sober doppler might not get up to anything, but a drunk one is sure to cause problems. If you want my oath, you'll have to buy it from me" Callum stated, clearly a master at bargaining.
Shane used psionic inundation on the lingering will
