    • Cat~ - 1 (cstar)
    • TwilightBlader - 5 (Hyuge, Judge Sunrose, Cat~, Moksha, Vivi)
    . . .

You know the drill by now.

The morning fog. The midday tension. The evening firefight.

    The inevitable casualty.

TwilightBlader has been lynched. He was Shaun Tobin, an ordinary Townie.

So let's skip to the new part.

As the smoke clears, and the loss of another dear friend is mourned, the Miami Police Department raise their heads at the sound of their radios crackling to life. An urgent call is issued from HQ; an enormous Cartel force is bearing down on them. The thugs here must've been a distraction. Suddenly the streets are awash with red, white, blue and black as present company race back to the scene...

But they're too late. The only ones there to greet them are dealers and addicts, trigger-happy psychos and sociopaths. On spotting this new wave of police, the Cartel opens fire. Several cop cars speed away that instant; those who remain are either slaughtered or forced to join the cowards in retreat.

The law is gone. Now only the Medellín Cartel remains. They are your law now, Miami.

With the Town's numbers critically low, the Redirector still at play, and the Vigilante's identity known to his enemies, there is no longer any hope for defense or retaliation. Thus Hyuge, Vivi, and Moksha overrun the Town.

Downtown, 5 ᴀ.ᴍ. Couple officers and a fed are parked on Brickel, radios on, each with one window cracked. Watching, listening, waiting. Then the call comes in. Two dead, third floor of an apartment complex about twelve blocks down. Two. Collectively everybody's hearts drop into their guts. The patrol cars' tires leave skid marks for the first few feet as they speed off down the empty road.

They arrive at the scene and see a busted-down door, with one corpse halfway through the frame.

Mish has been murdered. She was Glenn Larson, an ordinary Mafiosi.

Again collectively, everyone releases a breath they didn't know they were holding. They all think it, and one of them says it.

    "We got one."

The cops can't help but bro-bump. The fed follows a trail of blood into the apartment, one thing on their mind: So who'd we lose?

The second victim is on the floor behind the bed, legs entangled in sheets. An FBI informant. Guess the Cartel found him out.

What? has been murdered. He was Freddie Costanza, an ordinary Townie.

The group calls it in just as the sun is rising. A bittersweet morning, but at least they've got something now. There's still time to press the attack before the whole city goes to shit.

As the squad drives back towards HQ, they get the sudden feeling that something's not right. Well, less right than usual. A quick look around and they realize their car is the only one on the street. There should be more patrols than this...

Then they begin to run the numbers. With all the casualties lately, especially the chief and the agent... The department's running out of manpower. The big players on the Cartel's side are almost enough to mow them down.

The Town is in danger of losing the game. If they lynch another of their own, it may trigger Mafia overrun.

With 8 players alive, it takes 5 to lynch. Soft lynch is no longer an option. Deadline is Thursday, September 25th, at 8 ᴘ.ᴍ. (EST).

EEnE is one of my favorite shows. I hope you like it.

On the real tho, LOVING the design flairs in this batch. The business on either side of #1 really spices it up, and the text in #2 is masterfully done. 3, 4, and 10 are all looking solid. The Scrubs set is a little plain for my tastes but not bad considering, though 8 is kinda wiggin' me out, being centered with that googly-eyed face. Kinda works for comedic value though :'D

I hope I get to see more icons with text from you, because you work wonders with it.

The city isn't waiting for the shootouts to start anymore. It's waiting for them to end. All day. Blood, smoke and gunfire are the norm. The streets are mayhem. Nobody goes out if they don't have a dog in the race, period, no outliers.

It's a wonder only one body is found by the end of the day. Probably just the only one in good enough shape to be identified.

Bite the Dust has been lynched. He was Terry Kerrigan, an ordinary Townie.

Ehhhh I dunno, a lot of those shows sorta just laid it on thick no matter the focal point (Captain Planet's environmental messages or the AIDS awareness episode, for instance). I wouldn't call the race/gender diversity an afterthought either, e.g. much of Helga Pataki's character only works because you make assumptions of how a girl is supposed to act and she breaks them. It's less important for some characters, like Gerald and Phoebe (or Dee Dee's friends, just to buff the sample size here), but that only means cultural differences aren't as big a deal for them. Some represent class or clique differences instead.

    Dis gud

    Thumbs up dis

This is the funniest part to me, 'male focus' is not really saying much at all since most FFs are like that

    I'd play 'em

Not so much a phase as it is an ever-looming, fluid state of being

I'm with ya there. Wasn't even talking about FFXV when I said that, just generally addressing the sentiment.

Really? Diversity killed those shows? Are you sure it wasn't ham-handed writing? For counter-points, I refer you to most 90's shows: Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, All That, etc., which managed roughly the same level of variety with none of the painful cringing. Physical, cultural and societal differences were subtle and seamlessly blended with the narrative, rather than halting it to call attention to themselves. It's very possible and very beneficial.

People shouldn't be under duress, but they also shouldn't be exempt from criticism. You're free to write whatever story you want, but if it treads old ground then it should be noted as such. And yes, the concept is new to gaming in particular, which I've already admitted, but like I said, this sort of thing isn't necessarily about paying a toll. It's about always striving to create something better. Fiction as a whole can evolve and push for brand-new experiences that catch everyone's eye, and contain all the grace and depth of the real world.
