My DS Lite broke the same way yours did. My DSi semi-broke. My 3DS... I've owned it for a year and nothing yet, I guess Nintendo finally realized their products sucked. Anyways, I sent my DSL to my local videogame store and they fixed it just fine, but it was like 100ish dollars, so maybe it'd be easier to buy a new one altogether.
