Sora hummed softly, running his hand over Kairi's hair again as they sat there. As Kairi said, it must have been horrible, since she had woken up screaming. He wished that she didn't ever have to have a bad dream like that, or any unpleasant dreams at all. Kairi was his girl; he never wanted her to go through anything that made her sad or hurt her.

"You wanna talk about it, babe?" Sora asked softly, running his hand over Kairi's hair again as he gazed at her face. If she wanted to discuss it, then he would gladly listen. If not, then he would keep holding her like he was doing now; there wasn't a chance that he was going to leave her after she woke up with a scream.

"Kai," Sora murmured, lifting up his other hand and running it over Kairi's hair. He was concerned for her; she still seemed in shock from the nightmare she must have had. Of course, bringing it up would only make things worse, so he would just comfort her the best that he could, whether he did it through words or action.

Sora noticed there was enough room on the bed next to Kairi for Sora to sit down, so he decided that he would be near her. He sat down beside her on the bed, bringing up his legs and then wrapping one of his arms around her shoulders. Obviously she was terrified after the nightmare, and he wasn't about to pester her over something that had her so worked up. For now, he would be silent.

Sora walked through the dark hall and opened his bedroom door, seeing Kairi in the dim light. "Kai," he immediately said, walking over to the bed. He could tell by her facial expression that she really had experienced a nightmare, which made his already soft expression turn more gentle. He hated to see her suffer, even if it was something as small as a nightmare. He loved her deeply, and seeing her so frightened made him feel awful.

That's true, but they do have Aerith in the series, which never made sense to me. Oh well, I guess the creators of the game can do whatever they want as long as they don't bring too much of the FFVII story into things.

I agree. ^^ The Final Fantasy characters add onto the game, but I don't feel as if they should be focused on more. Kingdom Hearts is its own game, and it shouldn't have to depend on another series to run. It's great the Final Fantasy attracts more people to the Kingdom Hearts series, but I'd be saddened if Final Fantasy eventually became all that the series was about.

I would like a few more Final Fantasy "easter eggs", but I wouldn't want them to dominate different plots. It would be interesting to see how they would do a Final Fantasy world, but I'm not sure if it would be a good thing to do or not.

Sora's ears immediately registered the scream, the teen bolting upright on the couch and opening his eyes, even though he couldn't see in the darkness. He had been very much asleep, but his heart was racing inside his chest, the brunet recognizing the sharp cry. Kairi. He ignored the aching in his body and pushed himself up off the couch, hurrying towards the hall without thought. He didn't sense any Darkness that could have hurt her, so that left only one other thing that could have caused the cry: a nightmare.

Sora stayed on his back, aware that his ribs hurt more whenever he laid on his sides. He exhaled a soft breath, focusing on tuning out the pain that had been nagging him for a while. After a few minutes, he drifted to sleep, consciousness leaving him as he finally slept in peace.

"'Night," Sora said, carefully laying down the length of the couch. There was a pillow by the armrest, which he was thankful for. He closed his eyes and got comfortable, feeling the exhaustion become more apparent now that the lights were out.

Sora shook his head, realizing that Riku wasn't going to give up. "Okay." He wasn't going to pressure his friend; they were all tired, and when they were all exhausted, the could get a little...snappy, with each other. Sora didn't want it to happen, so he was ending the conversation and going to sleep.

"Sleeping upright can't possibly be healthy," Sora said, referring to the injuries Riku had received in battle. One of them was a hit to the chest, and he was sure that sleeping in an upright position wouldn't help the wound heal at all.

Sora shook his head at that, his gaze going to Riku when his friend made the suggestion. "That thing isn't very comfy," he pointed out. He would know, considering that he had fallen asleep in that chair for his early-morning nap. He would feel better if Riku took a couch instead.
