I just finished a book called "The Quiet room" by Lori Schiller and Amanda Bennett which was an autobiography of a girl with full blown schizophrenia, it also included chapters from family members and doctor's point of view to include the whole scope of the impact such a disease can have on the lives of people. It was incredibly enlightening and fascinating to read because I don't think anyone can begin to imagine what it would be like to have such a disorder but this book really helps give you a better idea of the situation and its emotional impact. It was heartwrenching and horrible at points but just amazing that someone can go through this, sadly it never explains properly how it developed (beside the biological agent of genetics but I was hoping it would be a bit more complex...?) and the cure is never properly explained how it works- I know these things aren't the immediate sort of things people would want to read about but I was curious because it'll hopefully be my field of work.

I prefer the dark for KHV but I think that is because it's what I'm used to and what I've always had and associated with KHV. We've had default light styles and I got on with them fine but I just prefer them like this.

My mum has done extensive research into our family history so I know that the majority of it is incredibly boring and not overly exciting. I come from a family of English/Irish people who didn't do anything overly interesting and they live all in the same sort of area. Of course, I still find it fascinating because I came from all of that and this is only my mum's side, I don't know much about my Dad's.

I would take the red pill because, given that choice, I couldn't not find out (if that makes sense 0.o). If I took the blue pill then sure I would think it was all a dream but in that moment when I am aware then I just couldn't face living a lie. My sense of curiousity and need to know the truth would make me take the red pill. Plus, if I was in the normal world and had a dream like that, part of me would wonder "imagine if that was real".

You are definitely not a failure, and this is the problem and it always bothers me, people seem to think intellect and potential is measured in grades and school work but that is just one way of measuring someone. Literally, this picture describes it perfectly:

And being continuously hounded with "failure" ideas doesn't help at all because, like you, the person starts to believe it. It also stunts and scares you from doing anything about it because of fear of failure. I have a friend who is really clever and has the potential to get high end grades and go off to university but he has memory loss so hasn't been doing too well on exams (coursework grades are full marks though) and he may not get into uni just because of this so society would label him a failure but e isn't at all.

Anyway, sadly there is no easy way to make this go away but I would talk to your mum about how her comments are grating you and really worsening the situation, her expectations of having "a perfect daughter" are too high and it's ridiculous no one could ever match those. The other option is somehow find the route of your laziness and try to work through it (it's different for everyone and is incredibly difficult, it would be stupid of anyone to just say "do some work" because that isn't how it works but I would try to find some way of motivating you to work- or not work but something you enjoy like art/music or just a hobby that you have and would like to pursue). If you do find motivation then don't work for your mum, work for you but the only way of failing in this situation is to do nothing.

I am so sorry Cstar about all this, you are definitely not a failure so don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

Has anyone else seen this? I really can't decide whether it's so bad that I love it or I actually don't like it.

Agreed, I find his arrogance so frustrating, it's like nails on a chalkboard. Yes we all do newbish stuff when we are younger that we don't agree with and this does seem like just one of those things that was meant to be funny for immature kids. Of course he's scared this video will backfire and give him bad publicity but "any publicity it good publicity" and oh look, we're still talking about him. Most of his fame has now come from the terrible things he has done I feel and yet there are still people who would defend him.

I like games but the only new games I am actually excited for are ones in the Kingdom hearts series. I may start looking out for The Witcher 3 stuff but aside from that, I don't really play many games. I doubt Steam have any plans to make more Left 4 Dead's or Portals but I would like to see HALF LIFE 3 SDO;JF;LSJDFLJ
