Well I gave that one a play through and yeah, I'll admit that the whole having to utilise and interact with Cortex thing was pretty fun and unique for Crash, but other than that... I dunno. I think it just tried too hard to be story-driven, which Crash has never really done (or if it has, it's been very minimal). I prefer the whole "HAHA I AM CORTEX AND THESE ARE MY MINIONS WHOM YOU KNOW SHIT ALL ABOUT AND I WON'T TELL YOU WHY I HATE YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU. *platforming and collecting crystals* OH NOEZ YOU BEAT ME AHHHHH!" *end game* But that's just me. >_>
2014 is truly the year of Persona. When you think of these three and Ultimax, and the first P3 movie which will probably get released in NA/EU in 2014. So amazing. Thank you, Atlus. ;-; <3 The only one I'm not too enthused about is that Dancing All Night thing. I mean...what. This goes against everything Persona stands for and is turning it into a joke. Honestly, where I live this is ALL that has been in the newspapers recently. I think in far more extreme cases than in the OP. In my town, a teacher in a school who was 35 was having sex with her 16 year old pupil in public parks and stuff- even though he is of consenting age, he's also at an age where he could be easily mislead. She had a daughter the same age as him (gross) There was also a guy who was 30 sleeping with a girl since she was 14 and ran away with her to Paris (this was probably covered internationally in the media). It's abusing a professional position of trust. That's what's wrong with it. They're there to educate, nothing more. If they were 18+ and no longer in school, then sure. I'd see no problem. I just don't see why a grown adult would want to pursue sexual relationship with kids at such young ages, especially when they have husbands/wives and kids of their own.
I kinda got my hopes up a little there... This series is an absolute mess now. I don't think there's been a good Crash game since Wrath of Cortex, even though it was handled by Traveller's Tales. I agree with gerbil on the Sanzaru thing, though. Sly 4 was handled greatly. Anything would be better than taking control of titans and fighting. Bring back the simplistic Crash with just jump, spin attack and fruit bazooka, etc. ;-;

Nomura can literally pull anything out of his ass and make it canon, regardless of plotholes and inconsistencies. Anyway, MF, etc were canon in the sense that they alluded to a presence that would be relevant in the next installments.
Although there could be many messages as is evident by what everyone has said thus far - I think, to me, it seems like the importance of friendship more than anything. As corny as that is. Striving to protect your friends, the drive to move forward and overcome various obstacles for them, keeping them safe... I am literally vomiting as I type this, mind you. But that's what I get from it.

Just to follow up on what mooncartoon name said, I think they did what a lot of bands do; release a song, no one cares, disappear, come back a couple years later with same song and suddenly SUCCESS! Not the type of band I would've expected to catch on, especially in 'Merica. Did pretty well on the billboards. >_> YASSSS YOU BETTER STAN! Everyone illegally download their album *shot*
