    Questions

I believe that a lover has to start as a friend, and that sex has to start as love. They're all part of a spectrum for me, and missing one is missing the others. And I'd leave it at that if this had been posted in Discussion, but considering it's Help with Life, I'm curious about what makes you ask. 'Course if it's a private matter then I suppose it's none of my business :'v

Thanks for the overwhelming support everyone :'D So I have a few takers for co-modding the beginner game. Anybody wanna help with the advanced one? Worse comes to worst I can probably tackle that one alone, but I'd like to know soon since the advanced one will probably start first.

If you're talking about changes in instrumentation to suit the mood of an area or circumstance then no, those are not the only examples. Metal Gear Rising also does this, as do a handful of other kart-racing games. If I knew the official term for it I'd tell you, but I don't. (Unless you looked it up and it's actually called variable mixing, in which case hey, I learned something new today :L)

I love it when games do that though, and I wish more would. Especially RPGs, where acute changes in mood would greatly benefit from a sudden muting of the drum track, or the addition of vocals, or whatever else.

Ah yes nothing centralizes the meta like a good 8.5 on the Richter scale

E: YOU WANNA KNOW HOW GOOD I AM?!

I JUST LOOKED UP MAGNITUDE'S BASE POWER

    8 IS 90 AND 9 IS 110

I SAID 8.5 WITHOUT KNOWING THAT AND EARTHQUAKE'S BASE POWER IS 100

BOW DOWN TO YOUR POKÉMON MASTER

EE: Also anyone who uses Slaking over Regigigas is a chump

Not to worry everyone, this isn't a registration; just an interest check. Between the remaining prep time and sign-up windows the games shouldn't be starting for a few weeks, and I may stagger the start dates of each game as well.

Valid points all. In that case, it could be that MX has changed the form of TX's body and just re-created Asod and/or Xemnas by his own power. Who knows what you can do with DA DAUKNEZZ.

So a while back I ran a Mafia game in the Playground. An excellent first game for KH-V, all things considered—but I also promised there'd be more on the way. Well ladies & gents, I'm here to tell you that the documents are open and filling up with setup information as we speak. Just wanted to run it by the 'Zone and see if interest was still high enough to fuel a few more games.

    Here's the plan...
I'm going to be running two games at once this time. One will be very similar to the last one, newbie-friendly and not overly complicated; the other will be more advanced and introduce some tricky stuff. Sign-ups are open to everyone; if you were in the Masquerade but still feel like a greenhorn you're welcome to join the newbie game, and if you've never played in your life but think you can handle the rough stuff then feel free to sign up for the advanced game. And yes, you can be in both at once, though I'd prefer to spread the player lists as far out as possible (which may mean I give preference to people who haven't signed up for a game yet).

    Here's what I need...
These games combined will have a total of 45 player slots, so I really need to know people actually give a damn about playing. Anyone who's interested, now's the time to speak up! I don't need exactly 45 (I think about six people responded to the original thread and the full twenty showed up), but it'll have to be bigger than last time. And if you want me to PM/Skype you when the games go live, just say so. I will also need co-moderators, if you're interested in taking part but don't want to play; running just one game by myself was pretty taxing, and trying to solo two of them will probably drive me bonkers. No experience necessary, I'll coach you before the games start. Obviously you can't mod a game you're playing in, but you can play one and mod the other.

So yeah, uhhh that's about it. One set-up is nearly finished and the other's underway, so I can get started as soon as I feel confident I'll have players.

    Ok. Let's break this down.

Terra-Xehanort was created when Master Xehanort willfully flung his heart from his body, using it to possess Terra. That means TX is made up of one body, two hearts. We have no idea what happened to Master Xehanort's body after that. Maybe it also fused with Terra? Maybe No Heart is his empty body? Who knows. Not terribly important either way, but worth noting for later.

So, TX lost his memory, then got split into Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas. We've taken that for granted this whole time, but what exactly does it mean? If Terra's body and heart were the ones that got split, maybe that means Asod and Xemnas are more Terra than they are MX—Obviously both sides retained MX's personality and MO, but their constituent parts are borrowed, or at least joint-custody.

Now, we know how a person becomes whole again after they've been split into Heartless and Nobody: Vanquish both halves, and the original picks up where they left off. Sora kills Asod and Xemnas. Now what? We assumed that TX would return fully formed, but TX is no ordinary being. It is at least two hearts and potentially two bodies. There really isn't a precedent for this, maybe aside from Sora, who seems to play by his own rules as well. Even then, what we know of Sora seems to suggest that the reconstruction process gets messed up when there are too many hearts, bodies, what-have-you.

Let's use Sora as a framework here. When he returned from Heartless form, Roxas was still around. What was Roxas at that point? Well, in all likelihood he was at least in some part Sora's body, because he wouldn't have a body without Sora. "But Nova, Sora had his body, so...???" Good point! But we know from 3D that none of this is an exact science: Hearts can leave fragments of themselves behind when they depart, which can grow fully-formed in their own right, so who's to say a body can't be splintered that way? This is likely what made hunting Roxas down so important: Sora looked whole, but without a piece of his body he probably couldn't function 100%.

What does this have to do with Xehanort? Well, here's where we get to my hypothesis, in two parts:
    1. When Asod and Xemnas were defeated, two people were created: Master Xehanort himself, since his heart had been freed, and an incomplete Terra-Xehanort, borrowing a fragment of MX's heart and likely in an unstable state (maybe even still amnesiac).
    2. Master Xehanort, Young Xehanort, or one of their minions seized on the unstable TX and split him again, re-creating Asod and Xemnas, who were now up to speed on the master plan.
And this would lead up to the revelation at The World that Never Was, that the heroes would now be facing not only the big three but a whole circus of Xehanorts. Asod may have also used this chance to visit YX and give him what he needed to traverse time, or it may've been sooner (Reaching on that one, it's probably just a shoddy retcon). If all this is true, it means Terra will have an even harder time with his heel-face turn than we thought, since he's split in half and probably still won't be in good shape when he's reunited.

My question is, does MX like this turn of events? He didn't seem too jazzed about being stuck in his old self in BbS. This may have been a change of heart on the part of the writers—or Leonard Nimoy, for that matter, since I originally heard he'd only been contracted for a single game, yet there he was in 3D. Could be that a fragment of Terra's body gave him a jumpstart... or maybe he'll try to possess somebody again in KH3.

Luckily I can answer both of these at once :D

Here's what I've gotten so far that I liked:

Deep Dish - Mohammad Is Jesus
    Sunscreem - Something
Eric Prydz & Steve Angello - Woz Not Woz
    Opus III - Cozyland?
    Junior Jack - Stupidisco
    Shakedown - Just Can't Understand

It did give me one other game track but it was actually similar stylistically, so I let it slide. After that it was all rough genre matches.
