It is. I tried it once. The taste of woad, Pictish blood, and shimmering tartans flowed down my throat. I grew three beards that day.

Throughout this entire ordeal, Fatime wanted to scream out. For once in her life, she felt the floor collapse beneath her, but her fall into the poisonous black void was something that she could not simply comprehend. And she could not say a word because of it.

They killed them. She killed them. She took a life -- a life! How? How could she face them? The others? They didn't know anything. But she did it! She killed someone. She killed four people. Four people she had known for a few years, even if she didn't speak to them as-- as much--
She could barely move. All of her limbs felt numb, and the feeling in her body seemed alien. It was all unreal. It had to be, they couldn't be dead so quickly. Were the effects temporary? Please, please ... No. No, it didn't have to be like this ...

In times of great stress, Fatime would try and read through her novels. A way to escape the harsh realities that stood around her. But today, there was something at the back of her mind that prevented her from even focusing on the words on the screen. Something horrific. Something eldritch.

And her mind slowly began to comprehend.
Her eyes widened, and her fingers tightened white. The dawn of the horrific beast that lay upon her shadow began to rise from the earth, as she slowly came to her realizations.

    No ...

    No ...

A sky-high budget does not equal a good movie. It simply equals an expensive movie!

This is a similar argument to the "used games prevent good games" argument, where less revenue somehow equals a lower quality game. While it is understandable that audiences are generally looking for good effects and the like, and it would not be completely sound to compare game budgets to movie budgets, many movies that have lower budgets than expensive ones do just as well from time to time.

As a personal example, let us compare the King's Speech and Transformers 2. The King's Speech was made with a budget of about eight million pounds, while Transformers 2 was made with about 127 million pounds (converted from dollars). Now, Transformers 2 was indeed an enormous commercial box office success, by all accounts. However, the King's Speech, with its lower budget, still managed to gather quite a bit of revenue (almost thirty times its original budget, with approximate conversions), plus many, many awards. Yes, it is a strange example, and I believe that both movies have their merits, demerits, and definitely reasons why people watch them, but the point of this is to explain that a movie like the King's Speech, with such a smaller budget, can still be wonderful.

(For further reference, if we do wish to get into ratings which I am always very wary about, the King's Speech is a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the more expensive Transformers 2 is a 20%, however it would still be inaccurate to call Transformers 2 a failure or objectively terrible because these are just critics' opinions, and people can make their own.)

So no, I respectfully disagree with Lucas and Spielberg. Although I can understand, with both directors working with big-budget pictures involving quite a bit of work put into them (at least Spielberg at this day and age, anyhow). If anything, the trends seem to be that these budgets at least are generally paid off by the box office successes, if I am understanding things correctly.

The Nintendo systems seem to result in fickle reactions from the third-party developers more and more as the generations continue, due to the extensive presence of Nintendo's first-party games, so they claim. From a few of the previous articles I had read, they seemed very ambivalent about continuing with the Wii U but I suppose this puts the situation to a temporary (and unfortunate) rest.

Oh EA, how I miss when you were not like this.

    Hello!

In the efforts to add a semblance of organization and higher quality to this dear board, I have decided to create a simple base guide for what to expect and what one should try and put into a thread here!

This is not a rule, only a recommendation! You do not have to follow this guide or be organized like the below, but it is just a gentle advisory to make things easier for the people viewing the thread, and the people whom you wish to watch this anime (or read this manga)!

Without further ado, let us try an example post.
Annotations are in green to explain why so-and-so could be present.

Ore no Kami-sama to Nihongo ni Baka Tsundere Moe Kawaii Subarashii Wake ga Nai Tasukete Yo! ( 俺の神様と日本語に馬鹿ツンデレ萌えかわいいすばらしいわけがない助けてよ!)
Alternative Title: *unintelligible in English*, "Orekami"
You should keep a title in Japanese and English. Preferably, use the English title!
A picture is usually necessary. It helps gives readers an idea of what the show's animation, character design, and atmosphere may be like. Here I used something I drew because I do not have time to draw beautiful works of art for Orekami, so this is a placeholder until I may. Usually it is good to use an official poster, or some such.
A plot summary, you can grab from Wikipedia, Crunchyroll, or wherever such. Please do not make it as long as this one, and do not spoil the entire plot!

Genre: Harem, Romance, Action, Horror, Psychological Thriller, Science Fiction, Space Opera, Comedy, Drama, Tragedy, Ecchi
    Episodes: 22 (+ 2 OVAs)
    Animation: SHAFT, KyoAni, Gainax
Writing: Gainax, the ghost of Satoshi Kon
    Seasons: 1
    Airing: Crunchyroll
    Personal Rating: 10/10

All of these modules help a reader understand what sort of show it is like. These are probably the most important parts of your post, because not everyone has the same tastes, or the same amount of time.

These links help the viewer get a better idea of what the show is like. If you can throw in some places to watch the anime, then you can do so as well. No download links to torrents, please; that is against the rules.

This anime is a masterpiece of fictional work. A touching story about the true nature of humanity, the consciousness that exists in us as a result of lightspeed communication, and our place in the universe, it touches upon philosophical themes from Nietzsche to Kierkegaard all while displaying pompously drawn breasts on screen at the same time, for some reason. This perfect balance of deep thinking and banal physical tastes sums up OreKami as one of the greatest anime ever created, one that will be remembered for decades, for it speaks to us not simply on an intellectual or physical level, but on both.

The characters were immensely well written. Despite Hito being your everyday six-foot shirtless bishounen with long flowing hair, and Gazpacho's breasts taking up more screen time than her actual face, these characters' personalities, problems, and emotions were the centerpieces of this touching melodrama of existential struggle. No anime fan who has watched this could ever forget the tearjerking scene featuring Hito and Fried Chicken (which I shall not spoil). I did not cry this much since Clannad! Remember to keep tissues at all times for this anime. Who knows what you could use them for; especially with the three studios working on this together. There are many characters spanning this space time sequence, but I will not spoil them.

Much of the first episode seems off-putting and generic, but do not let that fool you, as by the end any anime fan is in for an insane ride through space and time. The plot has an excellent pace yet at the same time manages to tie in all of these genres together in a way I dare say is the War and Peace or Les Miserables of the anime world. Although the series has one of the famous "Gainax endings", this one makes sense and is not just a bunch of people clapping for some reason (which actually happens in the first episode regardless).

In conclusion, I highly recommend Orekami. It is an anime that allows us to think deeply about our lifestyles; our habits; our place in the universe. It is an existential journey of the soul, and what it means to be human. All at the same time while there are about four beach episodes. and buckets of fanservice. I watch it for the plot. Definitely. Of course.

This is the opinion section, and here I wrote an essay, though keeping it shorter is better. This is completely optional.

Has anyone else watched this show?

(Thank you to everyone in the Spam Zone thread who contributed to the above plot.)

That is a simple example of what a classy first post in a thread can be like. Organized and giving a good general idea of what the show is like.

We are a community! And because we are a community, it is fun when the community can get together and do things. Or some such.

I am fixing up some things in the Anime/Manga section and I simply require from you the craziest and perhaps most convoluted fake anime plot you can think of. Creatively and preferably not an existing plot. Unrealistically long title optional but recommended. From here I shall soup out ... something.

Presumably so. These ideas come through with a wave of attempting to move the industry forward with measures that depend on a nigh-complete digitization, with the result being cracking down on profiting off of places one can profit from while removing any other minor possibility of fund diversions and the such. The Xbox One is essentially a console that attempts to focus on markets via top-down control rather than the more bottom-up consumer control and freedom that we are used to and prefer (though it can be argued that consoles in general are inclining towards the top-down). It was not necessarily the wisest of business decisions in an industry where gradual transitions work better than immediate black-and-white changes. The obsession over control results in a very restrictive, anti-consumer atmosphere, which is why everyone is slinging stones at the One like it is a slab of rotting Icelandic shark meat buried in the sand for six months.

    I have been summoned.

Now now, the Spam Zone can be a wonderful place. There is much humour to find there, and at this point, Beatle has already taken his visits. The Spam Zone is a jack of all trades where you can find quite a bit of anything. Think of it like the souk, medina, or agora of our lovely forum. Fights are less frequent than they were before, I should say, and though the people all have the taste of bitter lemons in their mouth from time to time they are all wonderful and kind-hearted. Just a bit cynical and blunt, a few of them. But if you are on the forum then it would be hard-pressed to find someone who is purely, unrealistically optimistic after three years!

I have already welcomed you Beatle, but again to you I say, welcome, welcome! Your name and avatar made me consider obsessing over the Beatles again for a bit. Do you have a few favourite songs, perhaps?
