You all probably read the General Thread in the Community & News Section, but just to make sure they're clear, here are some rules for y'all. ❄ RULES Digital presents only! This means nothing of monetary value, such as online giftcards and the like. LIKES ARE NOT A GIFT. Keep it appropriate for KHV, if you need some help with that either look at the rules or message me. Signups will go from today until Friday, December 11th. If you sign up, you can’t back out once everyone is paired up (extreme cases permitting). Gifts will be given and due between Christmas Day and New Year's Day (12/25/15 - 01/01/2016), but let me know in advance if you know you’re going somewhere so I can let your Secret Santa know when the best time to exchange gifts would be ahead of time. Typically this would be on Christmas Day specifically, but since this thread was posted late, and I am anticipating a lot of us will be busy over the holidays, I thought an extension couldn't hurt. :b In order to participate, you need to be an active member for at least a month, OR have 30-50 posts INCLUDING posts in areas without post count. This is just to make sure that you are an active member and won’t disappear on your Secret Santa. Have fun! Now then, for presents, there are a few guidelines as well: ❄ PRESENTS Presents are anything that you can make online and send to the person. Examples include, but are not limited to: Artwork AMVs Signatures/Avatars Writing (Poems, Stories) Pictures Other things of this nature You can make one big present, or do a bunch of small ones. But please, don't wait till the last minute and throw one little avatar together. You're expected to both give and receive, so make something you would be happy to receive in turn. On Christmas Day (December 25th), I will make a thread in which you can post your gifts for the person you're paired with. If for some reason you are unable to do it this day, you can send it in a message to your assigned member early, or, alternatively, have until New Year's Day (January 1st) to post it. ❄ SIGN UP PROCESS For those who sign up, be sure to post both the username you commonly go by, as well as a list of at least 3-5 of your favorite things. I tried not to cheat, but I couldn't help myself. ;_; School just has something about it. I don't think it's something to be super concerned about, tbh. I think that while things have slowed down a lot from previous years, imo (here and in general) as long as even a few people are interested in doing something, it's still worth doing.

I sort of disagree? There's a good deal of shots aimed at MRAs, but I feel like the MRAs people are most likely to see, whether they use the Internet regularly or not, is some dude from return of the kings or 8chan, which...lol. It's not entirely undeserved in that case. Honestly, I think there'd be more positive attitudes about MRAs if there was a greater call to effort in the groupp to trying to understand the stuff women go through and help advocate that/greater call to make changes in themselves, and also doing stuff for men of color, trans men, queer men, neuroatypical men, etc. Whenever I seem to find a post from them, it's often just about an average white guy, which isn't bad but it's not really addressing the breadth of struggles in the greater male community. Of course, I don't really tend to follow that many posts from them, so if there is some advocacy stuff they've been doing that you know of, I'd definitely be interested in seeing it. I do know there are some that do a lot of good work, I follow a pretty cool guy on tumblr that says he's an MRA & frequently reblogs stuff and answers asks about stuff men face, and a kid I went to high school with leads a men's group at his college that does a lot advocacy wise. I just think that there needs to be a bigger push or revamp of the MRAs at large to make them less of a joke to people and more of a major positive force for change. And this isn't to say that none of this applies to women either; this is all compltely anecdotal, but this last year (and this semester especially) I've been getting and hearing ridiculous & sly racist **** from white women that call themselves feminist, lmao -- from some girl handing out important class papers to our entire row except me (only black kid in the row), to some girl saying to my face "I focus lots of women's reproductive rights but don't really wanna think about race, I don't think it matters in that context." Obviously this is not all feminists and is just White Feminism at work again, but enough of these people have called themselves feminist that at this point if I hear "not all feminists" from one of them or in general before this semester is up, I am gonna scream (I am a feminist so this hurts even more) but, what can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Did you see that set picture of Cap 3 where Evans had a stomach window without that red/white belt thing for the Cap suit? I think they should keep that as it is absolutely necessary to the aesthetics of the theme of being on the run and having only a ragtag team of allies to back you up.

I did it a few months ago and haven't had any major issues. The privacy stuff is fixed with a guide & an extra 10-15 minutes, and the only real issue I have is when the taskbar locks up (only when I've left my comp on for days and it's fixed with shutdown or booting into Safe Mode real quick).
