I don't mind personally, but just note that for the simulator tourney, we will have to play by Smogon's rules (meaning we will be unable to unban Lucarionite and Gengarite) unless somebody knows a way to edit rules on showdown? if so I could try set up a private server for us.

Not entirely. The majority of people that use genned pokémon only use them for competitive battles, so yeah, you could call them lazy for not spending weeks breeding and training a competitive team, but I wouldn't call them cheaters because they have no advantage competitively. People who use genned pokémon to advance through the game's story are what I would call cheaters.

I think if we have enough people Method 1 would work fine, because the Beginner level doesn't only apply to people who don't know about the technical side, it's also for people who don't have access to perfect pokemon or just don't want to use them.

As it stands now, using the actual games is...confusing, for me at least, and maybe a few others. There's a few problems with it, those being:

    1. People aren't going to want genned Pokémon. Some have already expressed this, and some, including me have disagreed with these people for various reasons. The reason I think people don't want genned Pokémon is because they know that all genned Pokémon will be perfect, i.e have perfect IVs and EVs, without effort, and they don't like this for whatever reason.

    2. If we disallow genned Pokémon, people will still be allowed to use their legal (as far as you know, because there is no way to be sure) perfect Pokémon. A lot of people either aren't going to have the knowledge to make perfect Pokémon or don't want to bother breeding them. Some people however, might already have an arsenal of legal perfect Pokémon that they bred, and these people WILL have the advantage. A tourney like this, by it's very nature is imbalanced.

So here's my proposal. Take it how you wish, but I think it's the only way we can get this going and keep all parties happy.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First, we do some sort of interest check. There are 2 methods of doing this depending on how many people are interested, so this is necessary.

    Method 1:
This is the method we will use if we feel that we have a good amount of people, let's say maybe 20+ ideally, no lower than 15.

What I had in mind, was instead of separating the tourneys by platform, we separate it by skill level. We have two tourneys going:
    1. Beginner level. In order to compete in this tourney, you need to have very little to no knowledge of the technical side of competitive Pokémon, i.e IVs, EVs, etc, or just not have access to perfect Pokémon. This will be a 3DS tournament only tournament, as when using a simulator, IVs and EVs are required to be set, so this would confuse people with little knowledge of those things. I think if you're competing in this tournament, you're probably not going to know what a genned Pokémon is so it most likely won't be an issue, but if someone inquires about it or attempts to use perfect Pokémon in this, we can assume they are knowledgeable enough for the next level tourney, so we will move them up.

    2. Advanced level. If you know how IVs and EVs work and have access to perfect Pokémon, this is the tournament for you. This will be a predominantly simulator tournament, but if both parties want to use the 3DS, it will be allowed, with the use of genned pokémon also allowed because the participants in this tourney will be able to handle them.

I think a good way to get people interested (which is a requirement for this method) is to have prizes. A Beginner prize and an Advanced prize. I'm not sure what these could be for now, but if anyone here has anything, like maybe some giftcards, steam codes or w.e they wanna donate, it would be pretty cool.

    Method 2:

This is the method we'll use if we don't feel like we have enough people for method 1. (less than 15 people)

In this method, we're only going to be using the simulator. Sorry folks but the 3DS just causes too much imbalance if the tourney isn't structured the way it is method 1.

There will only by 1 tourney running at a time and will be for a mixed skill level. If people don't understand IVs and EVs, we can try put them against others that don't, or educate them to the best of our ability.

Prizes could also be given out for this method, but it depends on if people are willing to donate them.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So yeah. That's just how I think the best way to go about this would be. If anyone has any suggestions to add on this, or has a problem to address with it, please reply.

Blaziken is only allowed in Ubers, speed boost or not, so if you're gonna use Blaziken you may as well use speed boost. I assumed you were talking about an Ubers environment. I can't speak for VGCs as I'm not familiar with their rules.

You're not allowed to consume any form of media ever again. This means no TV, no music, no video games, etc. Do you think in the long run that your life has changed for better or for worse? Why?

Yeah, I get that, but I don't see a reason to not use it with speed boost in a competitive environment. Competitive itself IS a challenge and 99% of the people you play against are going to be using the best pokemon they are allowed to use, so you're just kinda putting yourself at a disadvantage.

When do you use these Blazikens? In casual battles with friends, in the game's story, or in competitive battles with people online?

Why use Blaze though when speed boost is superior and literally given to you in the games? What sets do you use on them?
