Yeah cheer up. Popularity means nothing. Just be happy with your true friends, don’t think that nobody likes you. If you have that type of mindset, then people will get bad vibes from you. But if you are more confident, people will like to see that from you more and they would love to be around you. So be happy, I mean at least you are living and breathing. first of all cutting is not something stupid. i've done it and a lot of people think that it's because they are either punishing themselves, looking for sympathy, or are releasing bad energy. actually, cutting releases good feelings. it's like a bugbite that you scratch until it bleeds. it hurts but it also feels good. i know it does seem stupid, that's what i thought at first but you don't really know until you've learned about it and experienced it. EDIT! i'm not saying that cutting is a good thing. i've stopped for sure. but please don't think that it's completely pointless and pitiful. i know that it doesn't do good but i understand why people do it. i don't mean to sound stereotypical but i think goths and emos are just posers. i mean i'm bright and i love to have fun. plus i have a bunch of friends. but i still went through it.
it's not literally a virus... i'm pretty sure. haha but as an analogy i don't think it's contagious. seriously, it's not. but ideas of depression and what people do when they're depessed to spread.
i don't know... maybe. like mid-life crisis is depression too i think.
i hardly think it's genetic. like twilightsown said, most of it is due to pressure, stress, and society. i think younger people get depressed also due to family issues, stress, etc. well that's at least how i was depressed.
