It's an OU tourney, so no. See smogon's OU rules and tier list for the rules of the tournament.

I have mixed feelings about all of this.
Whenever I give my opinions about feminism I feel like an as*hole because I don't know a whole lot about it and I'm not a female so who am I to tell you how you're discriminated against, objectified, etc.
For me, gender doesn't really matter at all. I guess I would say I'm attracted to females but when talking to someone, gender isn't what comes to mind. I just see them as a person rather than a male/female. I don't think sexuality is a bad thing at all though. All people should be allowed use their bodies for whatever they want, but this isn't really happening right now. I get annoyed when girls who embrace their sexuality and enjoy sex are labeled as ****s or whores but at the same time I get annoyed when males are laughed and made feel like **** for being a virgin. From what I know about feminism, in concept it sounds awesome. I just can't help but feel that the majority of feminists I see, especially on twitter, are so angry and bitter. I guess you could say they have the right to be angry, but it does not help their cause at all. If you really care about feminism, shouldn't you be trying to encourage others, both male and female to learn more about it and get involved with the movement? Don't just sit online all day complaining, DO something about it. Write articles, organise community events like meetups, lectures, etc. Being bitter just makes the cause seem unapproachable. I think it's a good part of the reason why people seem to be so against it.
But yeah, I dunno. This is just the opinion of a straight, white, cisgendered male who lives a pretty sheltered life, so take it however you want.

I, for one, will always be using perfect pokemon, simulator or not. I think the majority of people probably will be too, so would it not be best to tell be they should expect it? Of course we could make some beginner level tourneys if we get enough interest.

I think the best way to start it off would be with only simulators. If people really wanna use their 3DSs, and if we even have enough people, then a separate tourney can be made. People need to expect perfect pokemon though, genned or not.

I think using actual 3DS and copies of the game is kind of pointless now. We all have different opinions on genned pokemon and some people are just going to have an advantage. When using simulators, the irrelevant parts are taken out and all that matters is the battle, which is what I thought was the purpose of this tournament, to see who, out the people on KHV, is the best at pokemon battles. And overall, sims are WAY easier to set up and use. No friend codes or nothing, just log on, make a team and battle. I think sticking exclusively to simulators is a good choice and will be easier for everyone. Showdown isn't our only option either, there's also pokebattle which doesn't even use a tier system and assigns pokemon different point values. I personally would prefer showdown, but dont mind using other stuff if most people prefer it.

You're playing pokemon, we're playing competitive pokemon, there's a difference.

If you think a competitive pokemon tournament should test how good you are at riding back and forth on a bike and sorting through eggs for hours then we obviously have very different opinions.

You keep saying stuff like this. Do you not get that the very point of this tournament is to see who is better at USING pokemon? This isn't a contest to see whose better at playing the RPG elements of the pokemon games. Personally, I change the team I use a whole lot. I make a couple new teams every week and mix and match different things. This would be EXTREMELY annoying if I had to manually breed the pokemon.

Yeah. tbh I say we just go with smogon's ou rules (which uses evasion clause). they work pretty well, lol.

Alright, but I disagree on the rule that genned pokemon shouldnt be allowed in the 3DS tournamnent. which in a way defeats the whole purpose. the simulator is clearly superior in this, everyone has equal opportunity.

Yeah, pretty much. I understand the fact that you want to use the pokemon you put more time into, and I apologize if I come off as an *******, but there's no room for imperfect pokemon in a competitive setting.

The problem here though is that you're the one choosing to use imperfect pokemon. You could just as easily generate your pokemon. How much work you put in is pointless in a competitive tournament. I would rather beat someone with a perfect team that they generated than an imperfect team they spent months making.

Do you realise that less than half of the people at official competitive pokemon events actually breed for their pokemon, and that the pokemon company knows this and only checks that pokemon are technically legal? The pokemon I generate, by the game's knowledge are just as legal as yours. There is not a single way that you, nintendo, or even the people at gamefreak who programmed the game could know that they were generated by an outside source. This is a competitive tournament, so the time I spent making my pokemon, or how I made them is irrelevant.

There's no reason not to gen pokemon though.
