One thing was engraved in Laith's mind. The princess and her charge must not be harmed. So when he saw Jecht run up to her he snarled fiercely, like a wolf defending its pups. He couldn't know that Jecht was there to protect her. Running at him, Laith swiped his face, leaving two gashes.
"Get away from the princess you a*shole!!!" his voice was even fiercer now.
He crouched on all fours, ready to attack him. Now Laith was positioned in front of the princess. He was ready. Somewhere in his mind another Laith called.
We shouldn't be doing this, what if we hurt the princess or that girl?
I won't hurt the girl, I'm with you remember? Ok so don't hurt the princess or girl, right?
    Well...yeah ok thats good
    Excellent

Khaz felt his energy draining. Am I really going to die?
Suddenly there was a bright light and a wolf, white as snow appeared to him. It seemed to speak through his mind but Khaz wasn't sure.
You will die, but not alone
Khaz nodded and smiled weakly. "I'll run the wolf trail," he said. Those were his last words. He sighed, exhaling all his air.
    He didn't breath again.
He had died with his head up, on his paws, as though he was howling. His eyes were dark and cold, reflecting the stars.

A single shooting star passed over head, and stuck in the sky, glittering brilliantly. Khaz was home.

((Aww you all made me kill him poor Khaz :(:roar::fight::cryinganime:))

Ok so I was sitting in my writing class, drawing(XD) but anyway the teacher gave us a weird(to say the least) assignment. To write a story but there were conditions. 1: it must be fictional 2: at least two chapters long; and 3:...you had to write from the first person in opposite gender XP so I came up with this and wanna know what you guys think. If you like it then maybe I will keep going. So without further ado*trumpet sounds* Here is Dawn's Keeper

    Chapter 1
    A New Arrival

"Class," the teacher called," We have a new student."

The teacher motioned me to come in and I exhaled my breath. I put on the least caring face that I could muster and stepped into the room. Audible gasps went up around the room. I stared them down, daring them to say something. Of course, I knew what they were staring at. My hair, and my eyes for that matter, were not what you would call, normal. I wore a different uniform too, a boys uniform. That being because I flat out would not wear those ridiculously short skirts and tight shirts that were the girls uniform. Instead I wore the loose navy blue slacks, white polo short sleeved shirt, and black tie that made up the boys uniform.

Apparently my hair was the main attraction, though. It was pulled back into a very short ponytail. However it was the color, or should I say colors, that made my new classmates gasp. My hair was a very light shade of silver, almost white, with jet black streaks, running from my bangs, which now hung over one eye, to the end of my ponytail. And my eyes, which were currently still boring into the students, were a violet shade of crimson. They pierced through the students like a spear and not a one of them would hold my gaze. Not one, except a lone boy in the very back of the classroom. His stormy blue eyes gazed out calmly at me from under his silvery gray hair.

"Okay now this is.." the teacher trailed off and looked at me for a name.

    "Saki," I almost whispered.

After a pause from the teacher she leaned in closer to me.

    "And your last name?"

I knew this would happen. Unfortunately, I didn't know my last name, or my first. I wondered if I even had a name. Saki was just something I put together in the few days that were my whole memory. I was told that 'they' found me, washed up on the beach.

"Tanaguchi," I finally replied, another false name.

The teacher smiled at me and pointed to herself.

"I will be your teacher for the rest of the year. You can call me Hikara-sensei or just Sensei if you want to."

She straightened and turned to the class.

"Now who will let Ms. Tanaguchi sit beside them?"

The room went dead silent, as if it were suddenly empty, as I expected. It still hurt though. However I wasn't even remotely prepared for what happened next.

"Sensei," called out the boy in the back of the class. " She can sit by me if she wants to," he said in a mild tone, as if contemplating if it would rain or not.

The teacher brightened and nodded. I walked down to the back of the classroom, feeling all eyes on me.
The desks were in pairs so I had to sit right by the strange boy. I guessed that meant we would be paired up for projects and whatnot.

"Hello, I'm Riku," the boy said as I sat down.

"Saki," I whispered roughly, jamming my bag on the hook that was on the side of the desk. The teacher had begun a lecture but I wasn't paying attention. When the bell rang I jumped out of my seat and grabbed my bag, almost ripping it on the small metal hook. I put it ove3r my shoulder and walked out, head down. The teacher handed my a piece of paper that was my schedule.

    "Thank you, Sensei," I whispered.

I continued out into the hall but as I looked down at my next class, I felt anything but gratitude. Amazing, how one word could ruin my day, send an array of unwanted emotions through me.

    One word.

    Gym.

Khaz limped up to the river and collapsed. He reached out with his head and lapped up some water. His eyes closed and he passed out, his muzzle still partway in the water. His wounds had dried blood crusted around them and he was exhausted from the lack of blood.

"NOW!!," Khaz snarled. Suddenly Kipcha leapt out of nowhere. Her fur caught the sun and made it sparkle....pure white. She landed on Damon's back and whispered into his ear. "You win, now you get me!!The white wolf." She sunk her claws into the back of his neck and ripped. She also craned her neck around and tore his throat. His blood stained the ground, getting on her muzzle too. Now she was a sight to behold, the pure white wolf with her snarling muzzle stained red, still gripping his throat.

Khaz stepped out to meet Damon and snarled. "Fight me now,' he said quietly but with a deadly tone. He widened his stance and bared his teeth. Letting out the customary battle howl, he stepped forward.

Palla's ears pricked as she heard the howl. "Too late," she said sadly. "Now we wait. Wait for him to die, wait for him to live, wait for an absolution."

Suddenly Laith stopped. It felt as though the world had stopped.
Come on let me out buddy. I'll help you.
Well I need all the help I can get so...

Laith squeezed his eyes shut and felt a tremor go through his body. When he opened his eyes again they were blood red. He had grown claws and fangs as well.
    "Blood," he whispered.
His eyes locked on Jacky and suddenly he was behind him, delivering a powerful punch to his neck.

Once they were in the den, they eased her down slowly. "Well, Kipcha, tell mother to watch out for her. I'm going for that Damon," he growled. With that he flicked his tail and ran out the den entrance. Kipcha followed him. They raced towards the pack territory boundary.
