Puberty usually occurs at about 12-13 nowadays, sometimes earlier, depending on the chemicals in the diet, so a few years after that would be the body's biological prime.

I never said they were good Christians, just that they said they were Christians. They came here to escape the persecution of their beliefs. It just never occurred to them that they shouldn't do the same to the natives here.

The problem with understanding the Big Bang is that the laws of physics did not exist when it happened. It created them, but was not created by them. I personally like to think that the big bang was caused by a universe prior to this one collapsing on itself and the resultant collapse exploded, causing this universe. Probably not true, but it makes sense to me. And yea, don't turn to religion for scientific explanations. It's not gonna work. All I know about the big bang came from Steven Hawking's book "A brief history of time" and several other articles and books, read a long time ago, in high school. We can see almost back to it using powerful telescopes, and we can extrapolate to about a few hours afterward, I think, but before that, all our theories tend to break down.

Yes, but many of the original settlers of America (or at least, North America), were Christian, at least in name.

I personally cannot remember the reason either. It would seem that this, like many other laws on the books, is a relic from older days when the public didn't care as much about separation.

I was, I admit, brought up with a strong prejudice against gay people, and I still feel a small twinge in my gut whenever I think of gay sex, but I like to think that I am a little more open now, and any objections I have are small, based on science, and probably non-applicable in this instance.

I have used WMM and Vegas, but I VASTLY prefer Vegas. It's a little counter-intuitive, and to get the best use out of it, you should watch tutorials, but if you can scrape together the money (or get a friend or family member to get it for you), it can REALLY come in handy. I got mine from a friend, so I got lucky there. WMM can be good, but you really have to know how to use http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net <<(Link) to get the best effects. Even then, it freezes to often for me, especially for longer videos (anything over 1 minute, lol)

I wanted to go fight, but they won't take me because I'm on meds. I've just seen WAY too much of the backwards liberal media being pussies every time a single soldier dies. People die in wars. It's going to happen. The media just needs to get over it. I mean, even if the original premise for the Iraq invasion doesn't hold (and I'm still not convinced of that), Saddam Hussein was still a horrible, violent, possibly clinically insane man who terrorized his own people just for kicks. They're better off without him, but until they can defend themselves, we need to stay there and help. We started this, and now WE need to finish it. And if we don't stay in Afghanistan, what's left of the Taliban will just walk in and take over, or someone worse will. Until these countries are stabilized, we still have a job to do.

I think that soldiers get far less credit then they deserve. I mean, they put their lives in danger on a daily basis to defend a country that doesn't even have the decency to welcome them home. Think about it - a soldier is fighting in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, and when they come home, what do they get? An award? A parade? NO. They get boo'd! They get shouted at! They are ostracized by their own fucking family!

I have ALWAYS been taught one simple lesson - freedom's never free, but it seems like the American public is too full of pussies to see a war through to the end anymore. And the liberal media doesn't help, either. All they can do is report our bodycounts. How about reporting the facts, such as the fact that in Vietnam, in every single battle, we killed more of them than they managed to kill of us. we won every battle in Vietnam, yet the American public insisted we were losing and had to withdraw. As I said, pussies. The same story is playing out in Iraq nad Aghanistan. We are winning every battle! Yet, because of the pussies in the government and the press, we are being ulled out into another loss. Disgraceful.

So yes, I respect the military more than I respect anyone else in this wretched country. No one else here is worthy of my respect.

It depends on the context. In a car, drinking is FAR more dangerous. I feel that, overall, smoking is more damaging because it doesn't JUST affect you. Secondhand smoke is almost as likely to cause cancer as regular smoke is for the smoker. The only mitigating factor is that secondhand smokers get far less smoke into their lungs. Even so, if you were to sit downwind of a chain smoker, even without being that close, your risks would increase dramatically.

Yes I can. Without going into too many details, let's just say I know more about that particular internet subculture than most people can imagine. I have lived many internet lives... :D

No, it has to do with activists standing up for things even though it "doesn't matter to them" or "doesn't affect them".

I personally attach no real stigma to sex itself, as long as both parties are old enough not to get hurt. I would say that, as long as they follow the same rules as adults, let em go for it. I mean, no one is ever able to stop it anyways - teens just lie to their parents about it, and do it anyways, right? I say, who cares? as long as their both old enough to A) understand that sex can give them diseases, and B) be able to have it without being seriously hurt.

This decision, though, would coincide with much more effective sex education, including complete coverage of birth control (both natural and artificial), STDs, teen pregnancy (including costs), and everything else. This would be MANDATORY. You know, when I went through high school, the only sex ed I got was in Health class, and that was just about the biology of it. That shouldn't happen.

Heh, most of that describes my life, except that I really am pretty repulsive. Since Sophomore year in high school, I have cultivated a sort of aura of weirdness so that no one ever understands me. The only guy who did was an annoying little Freshman (I was a senior when I met him) who was in my Archaeology class. God, we annoyed the hell out of each other.

Eventually it became one of those things where, if you hang out with someone enough, you get to know him and become friends. We were partnered together in almost every single activity in that class. We haven't spent a week without talking in the past 3 years. He is the only person IRL I really consider to be a friend, and I'm OK with that. I mean, we don't hang out as much, with me up at college and him still trying to survive high school with an obsessive foster mother and no driver's license, but we still talk quite often, about anything and everything.

Yes, it may sound pathetic to be that much of a loner, but look at it this way - I got to completely ignore the fatuous, petty rivalries of kids in high school. I mean, I never had to deal with who likes who, or what's happening in some obsessive girlfriend's life, or any of that crap. Maybe some people are more socially-inclined than I am, but I have an excuse - ADD and Asperger's syndrome. Combined, they make me a social ******. Literally. Both are on the autism spectrum.

Well, better wrap this up before I start to ramble... I've offered a point of view in over 3 sentences. Good luck with your life.

Yea, I pretty much am just here for the Discussion Forum. I go to KHI (though I don't have an account) for news, since they seem to be on top of most of the news as it comes out.

    Today, I ate:

    breakfast/lunch (before my last exam)
3 hot dogs (on buns, ketchup only)
    1 chocolate glaze donut
    water

    Lunch (kinda, lol)
    6 inch Meatball/Mozzarella sub
    water

    Supper will be, probably,
3 more hot dogs, ketchup only
    ice cream of some sort
    yogurt (maybe)
    root beer (maybe)

Yea, I eat almost exclusively at Food Services here at college, and their hot dogs are the cheapest food close to my dorm, so... yea, I've eaten more hot dogs this year than most people eat their entire lives. Plus, I have to use up the last $10 on my account before I leave my dorm tomorrow.

Believe me, I wear many faces on the internet, and even more in real life.

    Stressed

My first advice, calm down. You won't remember what you study if you're panicking. Secondly, don't cram. Sounds like a paradox, I know, but all you have to do is learn the topic. Reviewing what you already know over 9000 times is not going to make you learn it better. Third, once you get into the room, relax. Know in your mind that you learned all you could, and now all you have to do is put it into practice. Don't strain your mind trying to remember every last detail of the class. Trust me, if you truly learned the material, it'll come back to you when you need it, regardless of whether you can remember it off the top of your head.

I'm sure your parents care more about you passing the class than some stupid award. Are you in high school/its overseas equivalent? Then definitely don't worry. The parts of your education that really matter are in college. Employers don't look at high school records nearly as closely as college records. High school is useful, really, just for getting into college, and if I could get into a major state school with a 2.9 GPA and no extra-curricular activities, so can you. You sound like you're doing better than I was, anyways.
