What do you mean, "we"? I'm an Atheist. I just appreciate the things Christianity DID do for this country. I'm glad that Obama did that. It's about the ONLY thing about his policies I like, but let's not go into that...

BTW, something funny: Obama autocorrects to Alabama. Lol.

Yea, especially with the current economy, the closer you can stay to home to observe animals the better. Up where I go to college (Appalachian State), the government has put a total freeze on all state school budgets. Meaning, no new money requests, no new unnecessary expenses, and no out of state trips will be authorized by the state. Hell, our school can't even buy new printer paper! The only reason the field school I am going to in the summer is happening is because it was approved before the freeze. So, the more zoos have exotic animals, the better it is for researchers right now.

The law may not concern her, but common sense should. A chimpanzee could easily throw her across a room and snap her neck like a toothpick. A lion (lol) could disembowel her with ease (isn't that what happened to Sigfried and Roy? or one of them?). Many animals are just too dangerous to be kept as pets. There are even plants that are too poisonous, IMO, though I can't remember their names right now.

I think the point of separation of church and state is so that the people of a country can freely practice whatever religion they wish (as long as it doesn't break any laws) without governmental retribution. The idea was being formulated in the wake of things like the Inquisition and England's break with the Catholic Church and persecuting anyone not of the Church of England. The people who came here wanted a place to worship how THEY wanted (of course, being the fundamentalists they were, in the beginning they were pretty intolerant themselves). When our government was founded, they carried that idea over. Yes, our founding fathers were influenced by Christianity, but so was almost everything else back then.

The concept of "created equal" is much the same. The words are religiously based, but the meaning is designed to provide an alternative to the class-based systems in Europe (even though women and non-whites were excluded for a long time).

I personally am very glad for Christianity's influence on America. I mean, for all Christianity's flaws, it is, in concept, a very positive, peaceful religion. It can go too far, of course, as seen in the unreasoning fear, it seems, of stem cell research, or the present American generation being too afraid of war to actually let the military win.

Sorry, got a little off-topic there. See my earlier posts for my opinion, lol.

I can only judge by my mother's cooking, since I have the rare ability to burn water, and I don't have anyone else to cook for me, but I must say, based on that limited experience, pancakes are infinitely superior.

Yea, I agree. Those labels are pretty much bull. Most of the people I knew in high school fit into 3 or more of those categories each. I personally fit the nerd, loner, prep (mostly, lol), and freak types, and I loved it. No one quite knew what I was talking about. Ever.

More like: When will they learn that pissing off their userbase isn't the best way to get us to stick with them. As soon as I find a better place, I'm GONE. I mean, we, the users, BUILT Youtube. Without us using it, it would have fallen into mediocrity, disrepair, and eventually dissolved into nothing. Google only wanted them for their users. Google would have nothing to do with a defunct, empty site. Now, it seems, they want to drive off everyone who is currently using the site and make it into their crappy version of Hulu or something.

Just finished reading Hunters of Dune, Sandworms of Dune, and Dune: House Atreides, and am now reading Dune: House Harkonnen followed by Dune: House Corrino. After that, I will be reading what I can of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern universe before I go back to college.

Actually, while I don't know anything about any biological predispositions for gayness (it might be right, I just don't know), if a child is raised in a gay environment from the right stage of life (from just after infancy, say), they can and sometimes do become gay later in life. It's not JUST biological. I mean, I really have nothing against gay people, but I just wanted to point that out.

I'm gonna be seeing it with my dad when I'm home between semesters. I truly am interested in how this movie will differ from the others in the Original Series.

technically, the pleasure of sex is an evolutionary adaptation to get it to happen as often as possible. I mean, if sex were painful, no one would do it (excepting rape, where it's still pleasurable for someone), and the race would die. If it didn't feel at all, there would be far less of it, and the race would remain very small. Nature never counted on human religions making it a shameful thing to do.

But yes, I do tend to agree that, in our species, sex is also for pleasure.

I was just referring to the biological impulses of sex. I mean, all these people trying not to get pregnant, they still can. It's still a possibility. I know there are options, but the point is that the only way for new offspring to enter the gene pool is through heterosexuality at some stage. As I said, I'm pretty much undecided. Let the politicians have this one. Let them have the glory and the blame for this decision.

You know, not to be too offensive, but all of you who keep saying how much Youtube sucks, what else is there? There is nowhere that I have found that offers the huge userbase and ease of use that Youtube, despite it's dying, decrepit state, still offers. If anyone can think of somewhere better, please, share.

Also, to you pwilliard haters, I admit, I have seen more inventive styles than his, but in my experience, inventive merely means bad, for the most part. I mean, he may not be "inventive", or "original" (whatever the hell that means anymore), but he is solid, he is good, and he does produce some pretty kickass stuff. I mean, he's among the oldest AMV makers on Youtube, I think, that are still making stuff.

That's because those are all the people that HAD subscribed to him (like me) YEARS ago, who are merely re-subscribing to him now. The sheer number of his fans put him on the front page of most subscribed on Youtube (the first KH AMV maker there, I believe), and that MAY net him more fans, but not too many.

If you're talking about critique, I think everyone needs to be told if they're doing something wrong. Not in a harsh or bad way, and not over and over again, but I think people need to say what should be said. I personally love critique, as long as it is based on fact. You know, "you did this and this wrong, and here's how to fix it" rather than "this is stupid! You suck!" - especially with my AMVs. I encourage constructive criticism, actually. It taught me everything I know, basically.

If you mean, just making a mistake and getting it pointed out, making you feel like a moron (I've had that happen to me a few times), yea, it feels bad, but I would just laugh (in my head) about the accuser's need to feel better than someone, never make the mistake again, and get on with my life.

You know, I tried to cut my own hair once. It didn't go too well. I ended up getting a very close trim to get rid of all the imperfections. I almost looked like a skinhead for a while. I'll never try it again. It's actually very hard to get it right, especially the back.

If someone really wants to take the social risk, though (and slight physical risk - the ears can be b*tches to work around sometimes), let 'em. Their not hurting anyone.

This is a tough one, huh? I mean, on the one hand, if someone really wants to live that life, than I say let them. I mean, I don't really care one way or another, since the proportion of gay people wanting to get married in the US is probably pretty low compared to the rest of us, making it relatively unlikely to meet more than one or two married gay couples in my life.

On the other hand, homosexuality does defeat the entire purpose of sex in the first place - to make babies and carry on the race and enrich the gene pool. Two men or two women can't biologically make babies, therefore, to the scientific part of my mind, homosexuality as a whole is a pointless, ultimately harmful (theoretically) situation. I mean, theoretically, if enough of any population were homosexual, it would lose any genetic diversity and die out. I know the human race is in no danger of that, but that's what comes to mind - all the lectures I've heard on genetic diversity.

I don't know. All I know is that I'm perfectly happy to pass this choice on to politicians.

Also, my first post in weeks, since my internet wouldn't let me on here for a while. Yay!

I first found this site to download videos, about a year ago. I didn't even care about the forums until I had a question about finding certain cutscenes. After my question was answered, I ignored my account for months. I only recently "joined" fully, you could say, a few months ago, when I saw the Discussion boards, particularly the thread about prostitution, and been hooked ever since.

I rarely post in other sections, and when I do it's either in the Off Topic sections, or the KH sections (correcting theories that are based off of incorrect facts, etc). I have never ONCE, nor will I ever, go to the Spam Zone. I have a very low idiocy tolerance, and like it or not, spam zoners, that section is filled with idiocy (intentional or otherwise). :D

    why

In the media, the only time you see fat women is in a comedic role, or when they're nags. In a serious role, you never see overweight women. Ever. For men, it's a little more relaxed, but most heavy men are in comedic roles to.
