Well, forget getting a new one. For the slim PS2s, the price range is between $393.00 and $553.92, not including shipping and tax, and while I don't want to get a fat one since @Patman mentioned they're hard to clean, they range between $292.69 and $849.99, not including shipping and tax. No way am I paying that much as they weren't even that much when they first came out. Just a bunch of scam artists. And very likely, the second option will also be taken off the table, leaving me with only the fourth option. I refuse to get a used PS2, unless it's been refurbished, which I can't find! Ugh! This is a nightmare! It wasn't this difficult to get a PS2 four years ago when I got my refurbished one and the times before that. Test PS2? My computer would be fine with 1,000 GB of hard drive space and eight GB of RAM, but it's much more difficult to find the games for the emulators.
Hey, man! I don't know if you ever saw this on Discord when I mentioned it a while ago, but just wanted to provide this bit of information...
So I have a few options regarding my PlayStation 2 dilemma since I can't find any refurbished ones: Just break down and buy a brand new one and deal with it going out in two years, at least that's what I predict based on past experience with brand new ones, compared to four years with the one refurbished one. Although my previous one we bought that I'm now using as my "current" is still technically working longer than two years, just not with PlayStation games. Buy a separate PlayStation just to play PlayStation games Drop my dead PlayStation 2 off at GameStop, if possible, and have them send it to Sony for another refurbishing. Fix the CD laser on my previous PlayStation 2, which is now the one I'm using (which technically makes it my current now), so it can play PlayStation games.
