So the Hairis of the time, Hairis Richards, ordered the Supreme Captain to lead a team of three other special space agents. I was one of those agents. Novak was flying with his family on a ship that carried close to three-million sora citizens. While it was making the jump through deep space we attacked. The ship blew apart. Novak's family, along with everyone else on the ship, died." Vecked paused, "But you are the Hairis." "I fear my life may end as Novak's did. Just replace the Hairis with the Gran Aigo of the Sora System..." "The Gran Aigo is a publicly elected official, he is the head of government," Vecked said, "If you fire Cotaxus and he goes to the Aigo, do you really think he would have you killed? With such a lack of evidence?" "The Sora System is facing extinction," Skinnar said. "If the Gran Aigo fears I may have ulterior motives for my actions he will get rid of me. "I completely covered up Lexx's involvement in the Six Sora System incident, just as a personal favor. Turns out distorting history and destruction of historically significant documents is highly illegal. If any proof of what I did was sent out I would not only be expelled from the U.P.A. but I would also be facing a fair amount of jail time. So I destroyed all proof that I was the one who got the blame of Lexx, but somehow Cotaxus managed to get an audio conversation of me and a... a client of mine discussing the matter. Skinnar looked around, trying to hatch some far fetched escape plan...
A small escape pod was launched from the ship and hit the ground nearby. Skinnar came out of the pod with his hands in the air...
"Trog time!" Skinnar yelled back through his ships loudspeaker. The Star Cruiser began to lift off, firing randomly at the blockade, the ground, and anything else.
Skinnar paused, before looking back at his crew. "To the Cruiser! Hurry!" Skinnar dodged a few bullets as he and his crew ran up the platform to the U.P.A. Battle star cruiser. "Get ready to launch, guns blazing!" Skinnar yelled at his head pilot. "But sir, I don't think we can get out!" The pilot replied. "Oh no! You don't think a Battle star cruiser can escape this?" Skinnar asked. "Look, my Hairis. A U.P.A. Battle star cruiser, say 2240 onward... its good, real good. But they got Hiryon-Model 8B, looks like they are makin' a blockade. And this ship is radar free, you didn't want Cotaxus to spy on you, rememba?" Skinnar sighed. "We have to try. They must shoot us down if they want to stop us." The Battle star cruiser began to rev its engines, slowly hovering above the ground...
Annoyed that his vantage point was now under attack, Skinnar grabbed one of his guards guns and ran towards the other side of the house. He ran around the corner and stopped at the edge. He pulled out his gun and his guards gun and began to rapidly fire at the group...
"I don't think Skinnar has any bigger guns in space, no blockade of our exit route. I say... we take em' on, wipe em' out, and steal there ships!" Vecked explained, "I attacked cause' Skinnar will soon turn violent unless we showed him the Virus, I thought... might as well get the first shot, right?" Vecked suddenly flew backward, his hand over his shoulder. "Oh god, I'm hit." Skinnar smiled from behind the building he had used for cover. A direct hit. "You trogs shouldn't of attacked!" He yelled, firing at the downed Vecked...
Vecked nodded, before turning back to Skinnar. "Rentu, we don't have your Virus. We've lost it." "I highly doubt that, Trog..." Skinnar replied. "My men are searching the area, and we will find it. I promise you." "The fleet that left, its a supply fleet headed for the Dark Worlds. It has food, water purification packs, a few grain generators, first aid, the works. If you delay it people will die. Let it go on its course, please. Don't let more die," Vecked said. Skinnar grunted, before muttering "Let it go," into his communicator. "Thank you, sir," Vecked said. "Now, I assume your here about your dead man." "My dead man?" Skinnar replied. "Mor, the special effects man," Vecked explained. Skinnar raised an eyebrow, "What?" Vecked scratched his chin, "You still are the Commander-in-chief of the Sora System, the Gran Hairis of the U.P.A., right? Odd that you, orbiting our location, would not be the first to know of an expensive hitman's death." "What are you talking about?" Skinnar asked. Vecked smiled, "Your not in control of your army, are you? Has Ulfire taken over the U.P.A.? Or has Cotaxus found something he can blackmail Rentu Skinnar with?" Skinnar paused. "So it's Cotaxus, eh?" Vecked pulled his pistols out and shot the two guards behind Skinnar, and then the two nearby U.P.A. snipers.
"Are you people honestly that self centered. Your pathetic organization hasn't stayed alive all these years because of its power, its stayed alive because of its power and its size!" Skinnar replied. "Its very good for a such a small group, a group that can easily slip through enemy hands... but its not good enough for these problems." "Its true," Vecked muttered. "The UO isn't a superpower. We couldn't kill the Virus in battle, we just exploited its weak point for maximum damage... and through that we managed to capture it."
"Of course we do!" Skinnar yelled, "Ulfire will use it for an invasion, Brotherhood will use it for an invasion. We are open for the taking. The Sora System has just gone through two years of hell. Our culture has been almost completely destroyed because we have been spending all our money on our guns! And now our guns are getting low, and we don't have enough money or resources to make new ones... We need protection while we build ourselves back up. We need the Virus... in any form."
'I don't like this situation, either. But at least I recognize what is necessary to save Sora..." Skinnar replied. "Keep a few snipes on them... I'm going to search the area," Skinnar said to his guards...
"We won't have to! Its politics, Xane!" Skinnar said, "Its protection. It'll keep let us rebuild so in twenty years when we may start having wars again we can take care of it without the Virus!"
"And what other option do we have!" Skinnar yelled, "Through this we have peace. The military can't do this anymore... Ulfire can't, the Brotherhood can't. War is no long an option, so we need a reason for peace... we need protection, Sora is weak. We will be invaded if we don't do something, the Gran Aigo of the Sora System is down our throats! I'm out of options! I don't want my brother to die! I would prefer if you freaks could stay alive as well, but its not my call. Its a vote now, the only way Sora can remain complete and in peace is if the U.P.A. gets that Virus..."
