Well, I just went to the dentist yesterday - after not having gone in 4 years, and not brishing my teeth regularly in months - and I learned that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my teeth. Want to know why? Because I grew up in what is called the "fluoride generation" by dentists - My generation (I am 20 years old) has grown up with fluoride in our water, preventing virtually ALL tooth decay. I am not exactly the healthiest eater - in fact, I am probably the least healthy person you could find - and I rarely brush my teeth (I chew gum and ice and use mouthwash, instead), and yet my teeth are in PERFECT condition. If that is not enough proof that fluoride works, I don;t know what is.

Sorry for the new post, just wanted to add some new evidence and see what people thought.

Well, I can tell you this: I, personally, get bored out of my SKULL during ANY foreign language class. I have taken 2 semesters of high school Latin, 1 of high school Spanish, and 2 of college Spanish, and it was HELL trying to stay awake in any of them. I recommend, since I don't know why you're falling asleep: Get a tape recorder (or a digital recorder - even better), and record the class so you can take notes on it later on your own time. That way, even if you fall asleep, you won't miss anything.

    Jeez...

Why? Was there even a point to this? Was it just random?... This kind of current event makes me question how anyone can ever believe in a loving god... What did those kids do to deserve to die?

Everyone gets fed up (I mean, royally FED UP) with their parents at some time. It happened to me, it's happening to my best friend, it happened to my brother, it happens to everyone. The only cure that won't destroy your life is to tough it out for the last year or so of hih school and head out to ollege first thing. Did wonders for me. Running away won't solve anything, and then you would be part of the unemployment/poverty problem. To help, try going over to friend's houses as often as possible, find an after-school program to get involved in, or find a stress-releasing hobby to help you deal with this.

Michael Jackson had plastic surgery to make him look like a white woman. It failed horribly, and now it can't even be in direct sunlight. It had nothing to do with the entertainment industry, just one man/woman's stupidity in thinking he/she/it coud swap genders and skin colors.

No, pot makes you feel better, but the pain is still there. You're just ignoring it during your limited high. Most painkillers actually DO block the pain, and most of them don't interfere with driving or other activities (I know they say they do on the bottles, but that's just a legally required thing after like 1 person took one too many or something).

I can probably find half a dozen drugs that'll do the exact same thing better. Marijuana is basically a narcotic. It makes you ignore your pain, it doesn't block it.

If this happens, depending on your level of education, you do want to complete it at some point. If you're still in HS, take a general high-school-in-college degree (you can take it at your own pace, maybe one class a semester, etc, around your schedule) - most community colleges offer them - and they are fairly cheap. If you are in college, drop down to maybe one or two classes a semester, or consider an online college. In any case, if you don't finish your education, forget about ever having your own home, a decent car, internet, etc. You make about $1 million less in your life without a college degree, and the number only gets higher without a HS degree.

I don't mean to scare you, but these are the facts.

In a drug sense, there are two kinds of addiction - physical or chemical addiction, where it will be damaging or fatal to go off the drug, or mental addiction (may be another name, don't remember), where your brain is taught through constant or often use to need the drug to "have a good time" or to feel good. Going off it in the second case will produce mild to strong withdrawal symptoms, depending on how long you have been on the drug. THIS is what marijuana does to you. It addicts you, but not fatally.

I am generally opposed to abortion, having been raised to respect life. If you do not want this baby, or are financially unable to care for it, see if A) any relatives will take it, B) see if any family friends are willing, or C) where the nearest adoption agency. If you do want it, GET A JOB. As fast as possible - and as high-paying as possible. Your partner too. And, if tax law give discounts for married couples with children, consider marrying your partner. If not, it's not really a necessity, just make sure your partner will pay his end. Children are expensive. And do NOT have sex again until you are SURE that either the birth control will work, or you want and can afford another kid.

Abortion should really be a last-ditch resort - there are many people who live very happy, extremely productive lives whose lives started as unwanted children. It's not guaranteed that your child will be one of them, but would you really want to abort the next Mozart or Einstein? Be sure to give it plenty of thought. If you can decide in a day or two, you probably haven't thought hard enough about it.

I do feel bad for you, but it is really your fault that you decided to have sex in the first place - birth control or no birth control. They have been known to fail. Was your partner wearing a condom as well? That would seem to be a logical precaution, given what has happened.

No. How about you go back to the spam zone, and stop spamming the duscussion forum? This is a place for people like me to INTELLIGENTLY discuss things, not to cut down other's ideas with 3 word answers. Try writing about WHY I'm wrong, not just insulting me.

Maybe they should BOTH be illegal, since they both CLEARLY have bad effects on the human body and provide absolutely NO benifit that can't be attained with a synthetic alternative.

Atheism can take many forms. I believe that, in the absence of God(gods), science HAS to step up and make things understood. My greatest passion in life is the pursuit of knowledge, and the spreading of knowledge. In my mind, knowledge takes precedence over everything. Therefore, if there is a proof against religious thought, I must know it. If there is a proof FOR religious thought, even though none has ever even been hinted at, I must know it, as well.

In my ideal world, I envision a society of learners and thinkers, with none of the shallowness that infects our current society (celebrity doings, fashions that change daily, vastly overpaid athletes, etc). I realize that all of you might not think this way, but I do, and that single ideal shapes everything I say. Therefore, my ideology and beliefs are shaped by that vision, also.

The Rack would tend to produce the most agony, as they stretch you veeerrryyy ssslllooowwlllyyy. You can stay alive for hours - until your spinal cord snaps, or your arms/legs rip off, or your internal organs peel apart. There were other forms of torture, as well, such as a rat pit where rats would slowly eat you to death, or (i forget the name) where they position you over a bed of nails and slowly add weights to your back until it snaps, etc.

What your outward appearence is shouldn't make a difference in the world ANYWAYS! Who flucking CARES if this person has designer boots, or that person got lipo? It's all pointless! All that should matter in a job situation is your competance and your ability to do your work. All that should matter in a social situation is what you are actually like, not some outward shell that you put on to fool the world.

And no, if you were born as a man, you ARE a man. If you were born a woman, you ARE a woman. Nature doesn't fuck up genetics. Transgenderism is a personal choice, no matter what anyone says.

I can;t argue with someone like you. You are completely irrational. You can see all the facts laid out in front of you, you know all the deadly risks that WILL eventually catch up with you, but you refuse to admit them. You are in complete DENIAL. One day, you WILL slip up, you WILL get sick, and you WILL die from drugs. Don't expect me to pay for your (or anyone like you) medical bills, insurance, funeral bills, or tax increases from your giving cops more work. In fact, I just might laugh when you die, and scream "I TOLD YOU SO". My idea of a good time is to hang out with whatever friends you have, in a perfectly legal way, and do things that make you happy. Legally. I feel no need to break the law in order to have a good time.

I don't care what I look like when I go outside. Seriously. I could care less if my clothes match my other... stuff... whatever it is they're supposed to match. I wear whatever fits, and the only hygiene I do in the morning is brush my teeth (because my breath gets pretty foul) and sometimes clean my glasses (I shower at night). There is nothing in this world more pointless than fashion and coordination. If you look human, it shouldn't matter what the media says your outward, shallow beauty should be. If you have disfiguring burns, scars over a large portion of your body, or look so hideous you make yourself puke, THEN get reconstructive surgery. Other than that, plastic surgeons are leeches feeding off of the insecurity of the media-slaves.

Tobacco doesn't make you hallucinate. They bred that out of tobacco hundreds of years ago. Pot still does. Maybe if they can breed the hallucinogenic properties out if it, they will legalize it and it can be just another poison to put in our bodies for minimal amounts of quasi-pleasure.

And yet, the majority of people still say "no" in the poll. Wow, that must really say something! I wonder what? Oh, I got it! People don't want legalized marijuana!

And what was said about health care was pretty true. As you said, it's their choice. So, let them pay for it. Not us. I have enough to pay for as it is without having to pay for some dumbass who got high and wrecked his car. Yet, unfortunately, if he has health insurance, with legalized marijuana, he'll be covered and they'll pay for it, which will, over time, drive up costs for the rest of the people with that insurance company.

And what if an addict (yes, do it enough and you WILL get addicted) does pot at a friend's house? He's not gonna spend the night, usually. He'll hop in his car and drive on home while still shaking off the drug, making him less alert (even if he feels more alert, he really isn't), slowing his reaction times, and increasing his odds of an accident many times over.

Well waddya know? People agree with me.
