I assume you are talking about Ethanol, the corn-based fuel? The fuel itself doesnt hurt the environment, but processing corn into fuel can do some serious damage, not to mention the famine that would occur if we relied on this stuff like we do oil today. We would need all of America's arable land to grow enough corn, and considering the fact that America supplies a huge amount of food worldwide, we would see starvation run rampant. No, we need some smart scientist to perfect a safe fusion generator that can run a car. Clean, almost limitless energy.
Quoted for emphasis. Not everyone believes what you believe. If we did, life would be a LOT more boring, and we would not have a great many of the advances that we have now. A great many of history's greatest inventors were not Christian. For instance, Albert Einstein was NOT Christian. He was often referred to as a non-practicing Jew. Many of the original American settlers were exiled from their homes or left willingly for wanting to break away from the catholic church. Most of the Founding Fathers were, at best, Deists, which means they believed in a God, but not necessarily everything else. In addition, I don't think you can call any of the earliest scientists, the Greeks, Christian, as Christianity had not been invented yet. That's right - Christians have not always existed.
I was referring to "good" in a larger sense - when someone doesn't go around killing people, robbing them, and eating their corpses (warning: hyperbole), I call him good. You know, the big issues, not small, individual choices. Laws, and so forth.
I will occasionally check mine for a laugh, both at how vague they are, and how often nothing remotely similar to them ever happens to me. Other than that, the only superstition I follow is the "knock on wood" thing, just cause it makes me feel better. So to answer your question: Load of crap. Definitely.
Agreed. Hell, Christians, as a whole, have caused the deaths and persecutions of more people worldwide than any other religion or government in history! Now, not all Christians are like that. I understand that. The vast majority of them are good, honest people. But every so often in history you get the crusades (killed millions of Muslims, Jews, AND other Christians (one of the crusades sacked Constantinople, a Christian city, the First killed virtually every inhabitant of Jerusalem, etc etc.)), the Holy Inquisition (killed hundreds of thousands of "heretics", and persecuted thousands more), the early missionaries to the Native Americans who discriminated and punished any native not willing to convert, and who took children away from their parents and traditions and locked them in boarding schools (this continued all the way till the 1950s), and DOZENS of other examples (the witchhunts, the Dark Ages, etc). Now again, I am not judging ANY christian. All I am saying is that since the latter days of the Roman Empire, Christians have NOT been persecuted on any type of global scale, but the persecutors.
And I'm saying that they already ARE good, so there is no need for them to wish to be better. And why did you call me billy?
Yeah... disclaimers do nothing. I actually looked it up in their legal section. It basically says that, no matter what you say, the only way that you can put a video up with a song that you did not write, is to buy the rights to that song from the record companies (like what filmmakers have to do when they make a real, hollywood movie). That probably costs a ton of money. The only real course of action you can take is to upload on a different site. I suggest... Here. KH-Vids has a video portal where you can upload almost anything KH/FF related, but I don't know about anything else. And yes, Youtube is gay. Or rather, the owner of Youtube, Google, is gay. I remember the days when Google Video actually allowed you to DOWNLOAD right off their site to your computer! Can't do that anymore!
See, Rainbow~Monkey? People can be good without believing in EXACTLY what you do. It's called "tolerance" - accepting others, and having them accept you. Despite what fantasy or whatever you read, 99% or greater of the people on Earth either are genuinely good, or believe they are. If they didn't, society would fall apart. Society exists, thus, people are not as evil as you tend to think.
Exactly. Even though methods of "goodness" may vary, they all have the same effect - a life that, hopefully, hurts no one. Pretty much the only people who think that (no matter what view of "good" we rely on), are people who have had twisted childhoods, traumatic events happen to them, or mental diseases (like insanity).
That was it. Thanks. And I don't remember who said it, but Voltaire pops into mind. Either him, or one of the famous American revolutionaries.
Now, don't get me wrong. I respect your belief. If you really want to believe in an all-knowing God and the absence of free will (because if God knows everything, how can we make a choice?) and an end to all normal human life (the Apocalypse), go right ahead. Amendment 1 of the Constitution. I just happen to feel differently. Voltaire (I think): "I disagree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" (may not be quoted right, but whatever).
That depends on your conception of sin. I feel that as long as I don't hurt anything (aside from what I eat, of course), I'm doing nothing wrong. Why should I be bothered by issues of christian morality when my life is fine as it is and no one is hurt by it?
I personally think it might be good for America if some of the moneygrubbing megacorporations fail (*cough*Google*cough*, even though it's not likely). It might drive us back to smaller, more people-friendly businesses again. Sure there will be a period of discomfort and hardship, but I tihnk we might turn out better for it.
My first true Beta vid. I have 3 betas already planned, 1 completed, and ideas for several more. All of them, I hope, will become videos. Pics below. Expect the full thing in about a month, with videos coming out around a month later. http://video.kh-vids.net/video/a1626c9f-14bb-4d78-ad37-9ba8010abd68.htm Preview + HQ Test. It may not be approved yet. KH-Vids made the timing off. :yelling::(
I want BBS. All the Disney moments and naivety of Sora and the idiocy of Goofy just got to me with the original games. I swear, my favorite part in all 3 originals was when I thought Goofy was dead. I look forward to at least seeing more skilled keyblade wielders (since I don't have a PSP or money, I probably won't be able to get it for some time)
Quoted for truth. I figured this out after piecing together the true parts of umpteen million false rumors, flawed theories, and thoughts, mostly from KHInsider. Reno , I think, was used as the base character for Axel. Not precisely his nobody, but the nobody of a character based loosely on him. The most likely name in my mind is Ale, because (speculation) wasn't that Reno's favorite drink? I never played any of the FF7 games, so I don't know.
Well, I can pretty much guarantee that the final battle will be the one we first saw in Deep Dive - Roxas v. Riku. It's after that that DiZ captures him and puts him in Twilight Town, and the next time we see him is in KH2. Although I would not mind a Sora/Roxas fight.
hmmm.... It's been a while since I played... I would have to say the Ultima for the challenge of obtaining it and it's sheer power.
It's technology. Of course someone will use it for the wrong reasons. Just as various technologies have been misused throughout history: Arson (fire), war (club/spear/knife), electrocution (electricity), hit-and-runs (cars), the atom bomb, etc etc. Not that what these people are doing is right, but there really is no stopping it. All we have to do is understand that it is happening, and educate the population about the possibility and consequenses. Crime will always be with us.
Oh, I'm sure the Twilight books are just fine... for obsessed preteen girls wanting someone to drool over.
