AS LONG AS YOUR OF AGE. If you underage, your not mature enough to drink and smoke. But, I have no problem with the people that do it. Its just, they wouldnt be as close a friend as a completly 'dry' person.
I have been in the same situation. I took the girl, we broke up 2 months later. Anyway, if you think this girl is the "one" then talk to your friend, tell him how you feel and that you dont want to choose between them. If he is truly your friend, he will stay your friend and let you have the girl.

If you dont do it to be cool why do you even do it in the first place? It makes no sense to me. How is it "good", but your correct, it is you life. Do what you please. Even if it makes you die a little everytime you do it.
Depending on the type of poetry, some can even bring a tear to my eyes. Including some of the songs (yeah, songs are types of poetry) that I write can move me.
At my school, there are people in grade 8 that smoke cigarettes and marijuana(sp?) And there are people in grade 10+ that drink beer, vodka, etc. It disgusts me. Just because they smoke and drink doesnt mean they're cool. It makes no sense. Its just killing them slowly and I cant believe how many times I've been offered a smoke or a drink. Its amazing how people at that age can get ahold of these things. Opinions?
