Too lazy. Search up 'Porygon banned episode' or somethings. Some of the vids are better representations than others, but basically there was a scene where the screen alternated between red and blue at a speed that caused several hundred Japanese kids into seizures.

    Hoohaa.

Someone's gonna render that .swf file, except add the flashy explosion clip from that banned Porygon Pokemon episode and see how many Japanese kids they can get.

    Hmm.

The plot itself had potential, but they rushed everything--typical of anime movies.

The movie could've easily went over 2 hours if they fleshed out the elements properly, but I understand that anime films of that length (especially since anime movies rarely recycle animation sequences from its series) take quite a bit of effort to do.

Granted it's the best one so far, but I'm really looking forward to the next movie airing this December: "The Diamond Dust Rebellion Mō Hitotsu no Hyōrinmaru." A movie revolving around Hitsugaya Toushirou? I'm sold.

No problem. ^^ I figured you didn't know how to read hiragana since you mistook 'wo' for 'no' (even though the two are very different looking hehe)

Translation's a hard thing. I only felt like posting because a lot of the context was missing--due to mistranslation (eg. when you translated Mickey as saying "I knew you'd eventually get here", when in fact he was saying that "[he] knew Riku would refuse to be put to sleep" (which has great significance in the story)).

Japanese also takes time to hear properly as well when it's being spoken to you. I guessed as much when you translated Mickey as saying "DiZ is looking for you" when he actually said "I spoke to DiZ about it". I assume you mistook Mickey to say "sagashite kuretanda" instead of "hanashite kuretanda".

Ansem being a mumbling ******* doesn't help, though.

I read through it and saw quite a bit of mistranslation, so I decided to add my 2 cents for accuracy. Major corrections are in red, and minor ones are in yellow. And yes, Ansem's Japanese voice is f*cking annoying to listen to.

The Japanese (I won't say the entire nation, because that'd be incorrect) in general have somewhat of a fascination with the English language. Much how there are Japanophiles in North America, there is a large sect of the Japanese gaming community that have an affinity for English voice-acting.

Final Mix versions (sometimes called Director's Cuts) are made because there are times when high requests come from the Japanese gaming community to 'experience the English/NA version' of a certain video game. This is usually because the NA versions are often extensions (have extra features/additions) in them that didn't make it for JP release. Since these are made to appeal to the Japanese community, us North Americans rarely hear about such versions being made unless we purposely look for them.

Final Mixes/Director's Cuts are not uncommon and have happened for years. And just to reiterate my previous point, part of this 'experiencing the NA version of the game' is partly the NA voice-acting. Many Japanese gamers prefer English voice-acting if they had the option. In fact, even Nomura stated that he and his team collectively thought KH was a game meant to be done in English as opposed to Japanese. Of course this could be because Disney characters are natively American so the voice-acting, but that's still independent of the fact that there is a high appeal for English voice-acting within the Japanese community.

Ever been to Japan? Many love hearing 'Americans'* speak English.

    * - by 'American' I mean anyone who speaks with the typical North American accent. Just most of the time, a Japanese person will usually assume you're from the United States if you speak in such a way.

EDIT: Some games that have seen Director's Cuts/Final mixes:

    - Shadow Hearts II: Covenant Director's Cut
    - Star Ocean 3: Director's Cut
    - Rogue Galaxy: Director's Cut
    - Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix
    - Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix+
    - Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System
    - Final Fantasy X International

The criteria for a thread being 'popular' is only a mouse-click away. And generalizing the KHV community in general, if this were implemented I can only see it being abused.

It'd be a cheap way to create a makeshift sticky; thread ratings as of now are inconsequential and I think it's better that way.
