This thread is still alive.. -.-
I'm aware of that. That's why I'm inquiring which model it was. It's incorrect to simply say 'PS3 can't play PS2 games'; that's why I criticized the comment.
Your friend is wrong. <.<; He probably tried a game that wasn't compatible with the PS3. I've yet to buy a game that hasn't been incompatible yet, although I own one of the original 60GB models. Does your friend own one of the newer models?
Tuesdays and Fridays off ftw. (kinda)
LOL. Didn't realize. GET IT ANYWAY.
Out of the ones you listed: DMC4 or GoW. Edit: DMC3...? I guess. *lulz @ WR's correction*
It didn't automerge because originally there was a post inbetween them. The forum isn't complex enough to notice if a week later, a post between two posts (which happened to be done by the same person) disappears, and thus only *now* there is a double post, therefore should be merged. Could be done with an extra line or two of programming, but I guess it wasn't important enough to consider, or no one thought of it, lol.
lol, I guess I made an indirect insult to Microsoft. I thought the 360 was BWC.
Maybe you misunderstood that line of mine. I wasn't insinuating that PS2 graphics magically become better when upscaled on the PS3, but redistributing the pixels to 1080P *does* provide more vivid colouring and in some places sharpens and enhances of a lot of the visuals. Most HDTVs, including mine have several settings by which you can adjust the dimensions of the video being displayed (in my case, I use "Full", which quite frankly was an awesome compromise that managed to display my .hack//G.U. in 16:9 without distorting proportions or blurring the screen--and I remind again that my HDTV is 52" widescreen). That being said, still, 1080P > 480P. A distortion of image of natively 480P doesn't make this untrue, it's the TV. I also own a 17-inch HDTV, and I can assure you that any PS2 game looks gorgeous on it in comparison. That's only for the 80GB. The original 60GB PS3s are using a CPU/rasterizer combination chip used in the slim PS2 (EE+GS) that output a ~90-95% BWC. However, this means PS2 titles are still region-locked.
Actually, I went back to see if it was the same for me, and it turned out it was. Either Alex! deleted those posts or his account is completely gone <.< (haven't confirmed the latter, but the former at least has to be true). I'm wondering the latter because that's post Moodkip quoted wasn't the only one I found missing. There was a post he made just after I embedded that Jigglypuff combo vid that has gone missing too. EDIT: Checked. Alex! is still a member. He must've deleted his posts in the Brawl thread, or the recent ones.
Actually, that's happening to me too. D:
Lulz, MuffinMan's account doesn't recognize noobs. No clue, man.
The fact that PS2 games are upscaled to 1080P: --> Yes, KH2 (in fact, any PS1/PS2 game) looks better on PS3 than PS2. PS2 can only output a max of 480P, and we all know 1080P > 480P. Where on earth did you read this? Backwards compatibility with games is one of the requirements for a Sony console. In fact, no gaming platform would dare to make the mistake of not making it so.
This topic is far too complex to really get into to nitpick, and just has an exhausting amount of elements to discuss. I'll keep it short: Love is to commitment as infatuation is to self-gratification. In other words: Love involves thinking about others. Infatuation involves thinking only about yourself.
XD Wut r u talkin about? Dis iz da furst tyme I herd of Norfair!
I'm pretty sure there's no guarantee that they won't get caught, but it's certainly very hard to catch people who pirate if they aren't involved in anything highly criminal. I mean, DVD ripping for example, has been going on for years and every now and then there are 'raids' by authorities who try to put their foot down on the issue and go looking for these stores in plazas, etc. But from what I can tell, during these times the stores just close their shops until the event is over, then go back to selling after. In other cases, the pirating stops for a while (stores get fined/persecuted) then the stores soon remake themselves and start again. I'm not 100% sure on the legal loopholes that are evidently behind these things--I think it has something to due with the entire "DVD burners are meant to backup DVDs you already own" idea, even though everyone should be perfectly aware that pirating goes on anyway--but essentially yes, it is pretty hard to crack down on software/music/movie pirates if they're not involved in more incriminating affairs that can lead to a legitimate warrant. I think a lot of the issue is that it would cost far too much money, time and effort to crack down on every single internet pirate out there. No one is willing to go out and persecute a random person who downloaded a single 3.5mb music file, because once that happens, the defense will argue that if you can do it for one person (as insignificant as it was to download one file), you should crack down on everyone else as well who pirated the same amount (and we can only imagine how many people out there who have downloaded just one music file). Such an endeavor I imagine is well in the hundreds, thousands, <.< maybe millions. Since it's sort of a ridiculous legal venture that just simply can't be afforded, cracking down on serious offenders (those who make substantial amounts of money from pirating for example) are easier to deal with since both the number of offenders of this magnitude is smaller, and the offense is much greater, and thus more worth pursuing; quality over quantity of offenses. In my opinion, if you're pirating and keeping yourself quiet about it, and if you're pirating for personal use (i.e. not financial gain), you're pretty safe for the most part. The only thing you're potentially affecting in the long run is the economy, but that's something you'd have to live with.
Out of the newcomers so far, Pit stands out the most for me, followed equally by Ike, Metaknight and I guess Sonic. Not sure why, but I haven't really been all 'holy sh!t' about Sonic like a lot others have. From the vets, I'm fairly interested in seeing how Fox turned out, obviously, then after that it's Link and BOWSER. Yessss. I'll get to them all eventually <.< *looks at timer* @MuffinMan: He's possibly on your ignore list (for whatever reason) like the others have said. And I believe despite that, you have an option to still view their posts by clicking on a "Show Post" icon somewhere near the top right of the post bar.. or something of that nature. Oh, and today's update makes me sad. =(
Yeah, you see, I'd say Fundamental Attribution Error, but that's only applicable when the person is completely aware of the environmental factors, but overestimates the dispositional (or undermines the environmental) factors. In this case, it didn't seem apparent enough to me that amber was aware that "it happens to other people as well". Rather, she's not disclosed this 'environmental' information--which by under the Fundamental Attribution Error, she *should* be aware of, but simply overlooks its importance and prioritizes dispositional factors. As well, I always thought Fundamental Attribution Error was more relevant when we judge other people, not ourselves?
Yeah. You remember the Puff team very well, don't you. I believe Sunnie and I have only lost once as the Puff Team among our group, White_Rook. lmao.
