Yeah, thanks for the heads up. Before this fic makes it debut on FF.net, I am planning to have a clean-sweep through each chapter before I post them. KHV just gets the first taste of it, and sadly I make typo-errors like those often on the fly. As for Chapter 18... *no clue*. I haven't even started writing it yet, but I have two midterms over the next two weeks so I can't promise Chapter 18 to release any time soon. Thanks for the continued support, however. :3
lmfao. Awesome semantic rebuttal. As much as I'd like to say "use your imagination", you make a good point. I'll make a note to change the phrasing on that line later.
I'm game. I'll be on in a sec.
^ -- so it seems. D: But thankfully, here is Chapter 17. Sorry that what's to be found in it doesn't exactly merit a 3 month work, and I apologize greatly for that. Hopefully you all enjoy it regardless. Oh, didn't have time to proofread this yet. I finished it around 1am last night (or well, this morning). -- Chapter Seventeen --
Simply LOL. Everytime I mentioned King Dedede as a playable, I said it as a joke, but hey, wow, it actually became real. Just some personal amusement that just months ago, I was laughing it up with friends going "Imagine King Dedede, LOL". Anything can happen; this update has brought entertainment to my the gloomy silent atmosphere since my trip to school. (is in Social Psych. Lecture)
Well, true. I should've rephrased and added "right now" to avoid that rebuttal. Just at this point, I quote: It suggests that competition would be sparked by exchanging videos of record times, rather than real-time in-game competition.
Not too thrilled about today's update, but at the same time, I think it's a necessary addition. :3 Too bad it you can't have two people competing at once, XD.
Yeah, the important part to remember is that Sora is Roxas' reincarnation. Kairi, on the other hand, is the same Kairi who witnessed those events all those years ago, and thus Namine became something like a reservoir for her forgotten memories and abilities. Since Sora is a reincarnation, he has no engraved recollection of Ventus' life. Sora may be bound to Ventus by fate, or whatever belief people have about reincarnations, but they both lived completely different lives. That is why Roxas was required to enter the Room of Awakening to recover his memories and abilities. Chapter 17 is almost done! I'm hoping to get it out to you guys sometime before the end of the week. We shall see how it goes. Thanks for the continued support.
Maybe there might be more alternates by the time the final version comes out, but from what I saw at the demo, during a Four For All Sonic match, there was no White Sonic (this is assuming every character has no more than 4 alternates).
No. I like turtles.
I like turtles.
Pssh, nothing but johns from you people. ;p Anyway, some of the alternate costumes are incredibly awesome. Golden Bowser and Dark Link <3. I'm definitely claiming the Dark Pitt costume and Star Wolf outfitted Fox. Simple on its own, but the aesthetic enhancements sure go a long way. Oh, and green bandana Pikachu is WIN.
Today's update was... okay, I guess. ;p Innovative, but I suppose I can't relate as much as some of you. Anyway, besides Crono and myself, anyone actually get SSB64 online working? I hate finding myself the odd wheel out during MuffinMan's gaming sessions on there, so it would be nice to get more of you out there to play with.
The thing about Dynasty Warriors though was the combo/movesets were far superior and had much better application than what DW:Gundam offers, from what I could tell. In comparison to the awesome combo-ability in Dynasty Warriors, DW:Gundam is gimp--and thus added to my disappointment of the game. There is some merit to the title, just not worth 69.99CAD(plus tax).
I can only review based off the downloadable demo off the PS3 store. It's definitely a game that can sell itself before you actually play it, but when you get down to it, most of the game's flare comes from fanservice. The gameplay itself gets repetitive and bores one easily. Although it might seem pleasing to have hoards of mobile suits coming at you at the same time, they are mostly nothing but useless decoration that you simply slash through mindlessly with your limited movesets and combos. The first 100 or so might seem appealing, but with some of the missions resulting in your frag count exceeding well into 1000+, it gets tiresome and unengaging. The only redeeming aspect of this is the sub-bosses that you encounter throughout the missions--although even then these suits aren't too much to fear once you get a system down that can take them out easily. And once again, more of the thrill comes out of "Omg! It's the <uber popular gundam/mobile suit>!" when you spot it. In the PS3 demo for example, you have a run-in with Epyon from Gundam Wing with Milliardo piloting it. That's some fanservice action right there as you're forced to duel with him as Heero Yuy in Wing Zero. I'm pretty sure if you're a big enough Gundam fan, you can probably play it through to the end at least once with your favourite character. However, because of the major lack of creative mechanics in the game, and the fact that in the long run, the game becomes mostly a button masher (well, more like spamming the same combinations over and over again), and will probably make it hard for any veteran gamer to really invest time to replay the game for character and mobile suit upgrades. And even then, the only reason to do so will probably be because of fanservice. What it came down to for me was the price. It's currently going for 69.99CAD over here, which quite frankly isn't worth the game's value in my eyes. If the game was within the 39.99-49.99 (which for a blu-ray game, probably won't for a while), I might've considered it. Just my 2 cents on that.
What I found funny was that those girls don't know that much about the game. I remember in one of the videos, they would rave and rave about "[getting] the smash ball!" and a certain Ike got it. These girls would go "PRESS ONE! PRESS ONE!!!!11oneone" and I'm thinking "Wtf, Ike's special won't work if he's not in front of anyone, that's why he's not using it. Stfu and learn the game." XD
First off, MASSIVE kudos to you for noticing that particular detail before I could discuss it in my fic. I won't go into too many details, but basically when King Cyril III abandoned the Kingdom of Ultair and left the refuge of the Land of the Dreamweavers (along with Kairi, and his three most trusted Chasers, Ventus, Ariannas and Atticus), he arrived at a world called Radiant Garden, yes? The natural assumption to make regarding this is that despite whatever world we venture in, the timeline doesn't change and stays uniform. However, this is a heuristic notion that sometimes isn't always correct :3 I'll stop avoiding the question; not only did King Cyril and the others venture to another world called Radiant Garden, but they also traveled many decades years into the future. Call it coincidence (or fate, it's up to you ;p) that Kairi so happened to be Sora's age when she arrived at Destiny Islands, but essentially, think of it has warriors from an ancient past traveling blindly into a world of the future (that being Radiant Garden), but still being intertwined by fate. Just an additional point, the aesthetics between the scenes of Birth By Sleep and the appearance of Radiant Garden helped inspire me to tackle this idea--as otherworldly power in the Land of the Dreamweavers seemed to be sourced from runes and majick, whereas a lot of the mystifying powers in Radiant Garden were interconnected with general modern-day science (something that wouldn't have been so understood or practiced during King Cyril's time). Also keep in mind that now that you know this, when Sora and co. arrived at the Land of the Dreamweavers, they were literally traveling into the past. Please take the liberty to discern that one's biological clock and the element of time itself are independent of one another. This is why Kairi remained the same age even after transitioning from the Land of the Dreamweavers to Destiny Islands. Sorry about Chapter 17! I'm aware that 3 months has passed, and it's sad that I haven't been able to get it out to you. October is midterm month, so it's been kinda rocky. September bears little to no excuse other than a lack of time and mood to write it, but I'm still hoping and intending to finish it. :3 Sorry for the massive delay. And many thanks for the continued interest and questions. I'd be happy to answer them all when they come in.
Yeah, imagine playing Resident Evil or something with a vest like that. Being hoarded by zombies probably won't be fun. Losing must suck.
Hehe, well I don't want to be the only one who can shorthop, since in this case it's not a question of choosing not to, but instead being completely unable to. XD I'll use a keyboard from now on, not a big deal. It's fun either way, regardless of outcome. And yeah, I've been watching those E for All vids people have been posting. Some awesome stuff. So far it seems like the game has taken some steps to better balance the characters (Melee Top/High tiers getting some nerfs, and some Low/Bottom tiers getting some upgrades). And some of the Middle tiers just went up or down (like Mario seeming to be ascending the ranks tier-wise). But this is all just on-the-surface stuff; we'll see how it goes when the roster's finished and the game's done. Anyway, some new clips from E for All: Final Smash Compilation (all but Diddy Kong, I think)
@MuffinMan: Lol, I'm an idiot, and probably came off as a fat liar. Allow me to correct myself: *Yes*, I was using a controller. It didn't click right away because the device I was using wasn't exactly a joypad with buttons and a control stick, it's some old USB device that resembles a keyboard (my dad got it from the Philippines) with a bunch of keypad type buttons and no control stick. These buttons are pressure-sensitive, but it's not really functional as a standard 'keyboard' for a desktop. So yeah, in essence I was using a controller. :3 I forgot you and the others were all on keyboards, my apologies. :3 I'll use a keyboard from now on.
