95 year old Japanese woman playing Halo 3
It's foolish to take old consoles off the market. You do realize that not everyone in on the same page when it comes to buying games/consoles? While many of us like to buy the new consoles on opening day, not all are like this. I have several friends (of older and younger ages) who have just purchased PS1s, PS2s and/or GBAs, etc. It'd be stupid to remove last-gen consoles for the sake of "this is the now, get with it or you'll miss out". How's that any way to make money? You'll lose buyers, that's all.
Two thumbs down for this thread.
Well, obviously the intention behind buying this machine is that Sony expects the buyers to use their PS2 for their PS2 games and not depend on a PS3 for it. The absence of the BC is a reason why the 40GB model will be selling for less than the 60GB or the 80GB. This is Sony's "cheap alternative" for those who are skeptical about PS3 prices. Hell, I'm pretty sure if it was 'worth' Sony's budget to produce models that don't play Blu-ray movies in order to sell the PS3 for less (and therefore attract more buyers), they'd do it. But since the Blu-ray format is still relatively new and desirable in today's gen, that course of action won't happen.
2 player Co-Op in Adventure Mode = Very awesome update. Probably the best one since the WiFi announcement, imo.
Oh, that's pretty cool. I was semi-interested in this game when I was watching some developer vids on GT. Definitely worth a few minutes of downloading time to try it out.
Because Wi-Fi requires the internet <.<
Thanks, Sakurai, for reiterating the basis of low-level mindgames. Lulz. And I'm somewhat disappointed in Fox's Final Smash, hahaha. But that's no problem--I think after the first month or so I'll be turning those final smash orbs off (unless there's some party that requires the absolute inclusion of them to make people happy).
...
O_o why would it be? They wouldn't make a stage then ban it from being used online. XD If you mean tourneys, not all online brawls are going to be tourneys ;p
Yeah, this update was very awesome. XD I'm looking forward to this particular stage, even if though the screens scream "banned" for tourneys. Love the Yoshi pic. Hahaha.
What happened to "getting rid of clones"? Either Lucas has a drastically different moveset (which seems so unlikely), or Ness isn't coming back. Damn it, I know it was a character entry update, but why did this one have to fail?
I have no clue. There are a bunch of things that have to be addressed/taken cared of first before Nemas is defeated--as that's pretty much the last on the agenda for this entire fic. But naturally, when they leave to defeat Nemas, the fic is close to its end.
I laughed inside. Pokemon Red/Blue (not FireRed or LeafGreen) will always have a special place in my heart. XD Anyway, with Brawl coming up, just wanted to get a sense of everyone's perceived schedules of gaming. I know it's still quite early so I'm not expecting specifics, but it'd be great to get a vague idea of when and how often some of you guys will be playing so we can coordinate some fun online smashfests and whatnot. Myself, my exams start on the 5th and will run until the 20th. I'm obviously not going to have exams every single day from 5th to the 20th, but as long as I have exams, I'll probably be off smash or not on very much until they're all done. It will be a drag if I have to wait all the way until the 20th to finish my exams, but for sure after that I'll be on Brawl a *hell of a lot*, since I have nothing to study for or do until January. AND TO FULFILL MY PROMISE, SOME DELICIOUS FILLER: Make no mistake. Giga Bowser will eat you. D:
Online tourney would be nice, however, since tourneys are set up in hierarchies (i.e. quarter finals, semis, etc), many people all over the world are going to be "waiting for their matches" to start. Now considering we're talking about an online medium, this does help solve some lag issues since you limit the amount of players participating at a time, but it would require members who are waiting for matches to 'stand-by' and wait for their turn. While it's one solution to provide players with ETAs so they can leave their TV screens for a short period (or even long periods) of time, this would be very hard to faciliate on both ends of the spectrum. It's one massive IT job to parse and update ETAs in real-time, and depending on how many players are participating, it can get messy, causing a lot of people to be late for their matches or missing them completely, thus having a lot of people advancing via defaulting. Despite that, this can *still* work if they come up with a system that works, but I doubt it will be used often by anyone except for very significant events (MLG going online, anyone?) where people are more willing to wait anywhere from 5mins to several hours for their match to start. Otherwise, I'm sure every smasher would rather play hours of quick matches rather than wait minutes to hours at a time for a simple, random tourney.
Yeah, read it earlier today... nothing but pretty layout pictures. FTL. Needs more character announcements. Nao. ~ SEE YOU ALL ON BRAWL (I guarantee you my next post will have a video in it of something)
1) Ventus is a complete human being. I'll try to pan out exactly how "Nobody" comes into play at this point. Sora is a reincarnation of Ventus, thus when Sora's Nobody was created (Roxas, aka Sora's other half), he was formed in the likeness of Ventus, since it was a reflection of Sora's original self. It's sort of an intentional paradox that Roxas (who is supposed to be a Nobody, someone who isn't supposed to exist), ends up taking on the appearance of the original form of Sora, that is, Ventus. Roxas was always considered an empty shell, yes? That's the essence of Nobodies. You can look at it like this: Roxas is an incomplete Ventus, but once he went into the Room of Awakening and got all his memories restored, he became a complete human being--Ventus' being was restored in the shell of Roxas. Bear in mind that Roxas isn't forever lost. Since I personally believe Roxas has established somewhat his own sense of self, his identity is sort of merged with Ventus'. They are both one in the same now. This is why although he is addressing himself as Ventus, he still wields the Oblivion and Oathkeeper, a signature of Roxas. 2) I'll try to make it simple so that you can hopefully understand and without me giving anything away. Yes, both Ariannas and Atticus will be making an appearance. The key to understanding their 'coming' back lies in the foreshadowing lines near the end of Chapter 11. Atticus shared an oath with Ariannas and Ventus that they swore to come back and finish the job. The three of them coming back--in whatever mysterious way possible--is to fulfill their oath that they swore their souls upon before dying at the hands of Nocenarus. Hope that helps clear some confusion. Feel free to ask any more if you're still stumped on anything so far! And thanks everyone! I'm sorry about the delay, university is still ever so demanding. I'm about 1,600+ words into Chapter 17. Take that as you wish, but I felt I should at least let you know how far along the chapter is.
That's why items are usually off in all standard tourneys.
Lol, well what do you know, I was able to predict 2/3 of the attacks as well (Fire Blast and Hydro Pump). Got kinda lazy with Ivysaur's and said Vine Whip. And lmfao @ Fox's face in that picture.
Not... really. Not if each Pokemon attacks one at a time, resulting a three-pokemon collaborative attack. Ex. Ivysaur grabs player and tosses him into air, Squrtle Shell bashes or Hydro Pumps randomly while enemy is in mid-air, then Charizard finishes off with a Fire Blast and sends player back into the ground (and everyone else in range of the attack). The possibilities are endless. There wouldn't be any 'cancelling out'.
