You should try getting out of this cliche rut. It's good to write poems based on your feelings, but not all the time and especially when you're usually in an angst ridden state. Try working with something more abstract. Use a thesaurus and search for other concepts. Try making a story out of it.

Have you said any of this to her face? Because I'm pretty sure it works better than posting under a user name on a forum.

I think that we're forgetting that the "right" image has been subjective to whatever society dominates. We're never going to achieve anything that remains permanent, and we're certainly never going to find an image that doesn't come to be a two edged sword. During the early Greek period curved and voluptuous was the ideal beauty-- much of which was achieved by eating rich and heavy foods. In the Victorian era there was the dominant hour glass shape that was achieved using the corset-- which subsequently led to a number of spinal malformations, injury, and death by suffocation. In the early1900's lead based powder was used to get that beautiful pale look all the while poisoning it's user. Later on the pale look was achieved by drinking vinegar which caused stomach ulcers and and scarring. In another hundred years we'll be criticizing the next image fad.

It's more complex then just a batch of proverbs. There are plenty of social and influential factors that causes changes in behaviour. For example just because you found yourself being a rebellious teenager doesn't mean that you'll have kids that go through the same stage. it works when examining extreme cases but those are few compared to what is in the gray.

@Jordier0xs0x: It's always easy for each side to paint one another as the "bad guy" and they themselves as the "good guys". It's all a matter of perception and point of view. The common freedom fighter is at the same time a terrorist.
