Oh, that reminds me of my first experience with Pokemon Red. I didn't talk to that old man in Viridian City on how to catch other Pokemon (thankfully they fixed this in FireRed and LeafGreen by making it a mandatory cutscene), but in the old ones you had to talk to the guy yourself, otherwise you wouldn't see it. So I only had my Charmander and I wanted to catch a Pikachu. I did find one during my first visit to Viridian Forest, but by that time I already had a lvl 40 Charizard... and well, I pretty much one-hit KO'ed any wild Pokemon I encountered. Yeah... so I reset the game. Although I must say, a lvl 40 before reaching Pewter City was pretty funny; I could probably wipe out both Brock and Misty single-handedly with Charizard despite having elemental disadvantages for both.
True, the second visits seemed rather mediocre--but for me, the appealing characterization allowed me to overlook the redundancy of the events; I just liked experiencing Sora's journey, no matter what it was.
Yeah, I'm not debating that it's a 100% outcome, but there are far too many examples in humanity's history that show that we're not all capable of discerning what the right choice is after we see other people's actions. People love to often justify their actions if they've seen it performed at least once by another individual, despite if it's been declared as 'wrong' or an 'incorrect course of action'.
Both. It was a dream come true, and I milked it dry.
Well, it's obvious people do that regardless if a pairing is official or not. I really don't think it makes a difference. XD
And by any chance, have you played any Suikoden games, shadowjak? If you're into story and less gameplay, there's a series for you. Lots and lots of characterization in those games for you. Except IV. Let's avoid Suikoden IV.
...
KH2 sucked? Wow. You enjoyed Tales of Symphonia more than KH2? And SO3? *blinks* Evidently our taste in RPGs are different. I found Tales of Symphonia absolutely horrible. Battle system wasn't too shabby; I expected as much from Namco, but you actually liked the story more than KH2? Or SO3? Wow. RPGs have always been doing well in the industry; I think I agree with xekushi; maybe you're just not feeling the RPG scene anymore. EDIT: I'm waiting for Shirokishi as well (White Knight Story). They're the same makers as Rogue Galaxy though, and Dragon Quest IX, so perhaps you may want to skip over that one as well, shadowjak.
Yeah, it's some arcade game based off Thriller. You beat up zombies and stuff. XD You can 'moonwalk' them as an attack.
Have you played the video game? It's hilarious.
What does being a mod have to do with anything?
The first time I beat ES, I only used Drive. Once. For about 25 seconds. My strategy for ES is comprised mostly of Guarding, Reflectga for the Bow and Arrow moves, and Berserk Charge. I used Final Form when he had 4 bars left because I wanted to get rid of my Berserk (since I needed a Finisher) and both my party members were alive. So why not. I managed to finish him off with two quick 3x Finish Plus in Final Form to take him down. All times after that, no drives, no limits. Not even because I wanted to be cool, I just find it easier in Sora's normal form since Guard is such an integral part of my strategy, and I never got into the habit of implementing Limits into my battles.
;p A personal opinion. I thought the JP were better, but that's just me. A lot of the reason why is because the KH characters like Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ansem, etc were all characters that made their first appearance in the franchise itself. On the other hand, many of the Disney characters have been well established for at least a decade--thus the correlation of 'how they sound like' or 'how they should sound like' is a lot more prominent than what people think Sora 'should've' sounded like, or what Kairi 'should've' sounded like. That's probably why people feel the English version 'fits' more than the JP. And to be honest, fine, of course I find the Disney voices better in English. But I think Sora, Kairi, Riku, and all the FF cameos were better in JP.
Um, first of all, it's an 'international' title. The intention of Final Mix+ (along with the first Final Mix game--yes, they've done this once before already with KH1) was to give Japanese gamers the chance to experience the 'North American' version of Kingdom Hearts--since they're absolutely in love with the English language, apparently. That's why voices are in English with Japanese text. Of course, Final Mix+ is like, 2x of what the NA release was, but what can you do. Kingdom Hearts was developed in Japan; let them do what they want.
Maybe I am your ex-step-brother. O_O Bad joke, I know.
Glide is a MP-saving method that works. I'd say it's very useful for the last half of the battle--to dodge the ES' berserk attacks (well, 2/3 of them), and for those Dragoon attacks (if you're a gundam fan, you probably know what I'm referring to). If not, it's those white orb/machine things that fire lasers at you. I'm pretty sure with enough experimentation, there are other ways to beat the ES without Glide, but for sure it works <.<;
I'd say take on the ES after you get Combo Live and Last Live. Any time before that can be somewhat difficult.
And for the record, I don't understand the fascination with yuri/lesbians. What's so attractive about women who aren't interested in me?
I suppose my priorities for RPGs are different. If I don't enjoy the story, everything about it just falls apart, and I lose interest. Gameplay for me comes after story, characters and music.
Yeah. I bought FFX-2. Big mistake there.
