Yes, unfortunately you do. You need to boot up the Swap Magic every time you wanna play a backup/import. Another thing that hasn't been mentioned by retailers is that oftentimes the disc will not boot up properly if you immediately try to boot it up again after shutting off your game. I.e. Final Mix+ is playing. You turn PS2 off, and right away try to place Swap Magic disc in it again to boot it up. I've personally found I have to wait a few minutes before the disc will work properly again. Maybe this is only my problem, but I felt I had to give out that information.
Just finished all the Mushrooms. I'm sporting my very-hard-to-see Bronze Crown. Damn Sora for being a brunette.
Yeah, some of them can be, and not all of them are written in Kata, some are in Kanji and Hira (like the new Roxas Keyblade Meguriau Futari <.<;;;) Anyway, yeah I'm sure you'll find a way if you're really intent on playing. You could save the abilities list/translations on USB and take it to a Kinkos or a Xerox and print them out there. XDDD. The things people can do for KH. Up to you, again.
If you're good at phonetics, all you will really need is a Katakana Alphabet chart in front of you. This is because all the abilities are "English" words that were converted into Japanese syllables. So you can just decipher the symbols one by one and figure out the word. Example: A - i - te - mu translates to "Item". If you say A-i-te-mu really fast, it sounds a lot like 'item' doesn't it? This method assumes you know how to pronounce Japanese vowels. But that's not hard, it's the same in Latin and Italian. The other option is to write down the words on a list after reading them off this site. XD That can be time consuming but it's up to you.
Ah, yeah. I'm probably not strong enough. I was using Rumbling Rose with Combo Minus and all Finish Pluses I had (I had about 4 consecutive Finishers chained) and it still only got me 12 seconds. I guess I should just level a bit and come back to it. Thanks Uta.
XD Thanks. I'll look around that area in the Theatre Mode. On a different note, for some reason the Cave of Wonders Mushroom isn't giving me the damn fireworks. It's the only one left I have to do. Any tips? I'm guessing I'm just not strong enough, but if there's a method anyone's used that was successful I'd like to know. Oh, and what is the time limit I need to get the fireworks? XD
Yeah, make note of how much MP you have left to charge when the mushroom gets blown away, so the next time you do Berserk Charge, wait a little before throwing the VIII into the air.
Question. The new scene with Riku and Roxas fighting... where exactly in the game do they show that? Was it near the end? I only began skipping cutscenes once I entered the room where you battle Xigbar and beyond, and I didn't see that scene at all during the game. Can someone tell me where it shows? It'll isolate the searching when I scan through Theatre Mode to find it.
You can do more. I did 87, but the strategy I used was given to me by a guy who managed 121 (but he used Donald's Flare Force Limit to help him out).
Got it to work now. After I beat Riku's Rebirth Story, I didn't save it afterward so it didn't count as 'completed'. Thanks for making me think twice about whether or not I completed Re:CoM or not. XD This thread can be closed now.
The thing about the Berserk Charge is that you're on a time limit. The moment you recover your MP, your combo will be over. There is one way around this, but it takes a lot of skill and timing, but rest assured if you can get this, you'll definitely get your 85 hits. Equip Donald's Duck Flare (Flare Force in FM+) and equip its Auto Limit. Now continue your strategy as usual, but right when your MP recovers, unleash Donald's Duck Flare Limit. If done correctly, the initial attack from Donald will knock the Mushroom back into the air. You may fail sometimes simply because the Mushroom is too far, but other times you *will* succeed. Now the complicated part of this is that you need to balance hitting Triangle to activate the missiles, and your own jumping and slashing (not to mention you have to hit circle first, then spam the square). Doing this all at once can be really hard. But all you really need is that ONE hit from the missiles to knock the mushroom into the air, so you can land on the ground and get your bearings back. After the mushroom is knocked into the air again, maneuver yourself to start the circle <> square spam strategy again; and hopefully you won't have to do it for a long time after that.
Yeah, sorry. It's called Horizontal Slash, or something of the like. The zig-zag thing.
In Limit Form, hold L1 and your Battle Menu should become a list of useable Limits while in Limit Form. Be aware that you need MP to use these.
For VI, I used Final Form and used Thundaga to take out the 4th set (with the initial VI as the first set), the 10th set, and part of the last set. You need to Thundaga part of the last set because this particular section takes the longest to do and you have *no time* to run around the entire room. Pick a side to take out with your Keyblades, then Thundaga the other half of the room when you're in range. And *don't* forget about the VI Mushroom above you near the door. My finishing time for VI was 44.27 seconds. Very very close. VIII requires a dilligent spamming of the square button, and a little bit of luck. You *need* Berserk Charge to do this, and if you picked the Sword at the beginning of the game, Sora will learn this at lvl 65. Press Triangle to throw the VIII up, hit it ONCE with Circle, then spam away with Retaliating Slash (with Square). Around 15 hits, the VIII mushroom will fly a little high, time its descent with *one* Circle hit, then resume the Square spam. It will do this one-to-two more times, and afterward, spam Square for all your worth and don't ever slow down. The faster you press it, the more consistent Sora's Retaliating Slash will be and the VIII wil have less of a chance of being blown away from your assault. My finishing record for VIII was 87. Very very close. XD I haven't tried No. I yet, but I will soon.
That's the video I watched... The menu seems to be there from the very beginning when AkujinD accesses Theatre Mode. Such a thing isn't on my screen when I enter mine. I have beaten Re:CoM, both Sora and Riku Story, and the saves are on the same memory card.. =\ I don't know what else I need to do.
You did do that in the old KH2. You gain Final Form by Driving into other forms, and Final Form'll randomly show up. <.< It's not any different from before.
Right, so I went and just beat the game to unlock Theatre Mode for Final Mix, and well... I have absolutely no clue how you're supposed to change the audio track to Japanese (I wanted to listen to the new scenes voiced). Does anyone know how to do this? I remember something about toggling L2/R2, but there's no selection whatsoever in the menus or lists to do that, and I tried doing it during the cutscenes as well. Am I missing something here? <.< EDIT: I watched a video of someone doing it, but it seemed there should be a red menu on the top right once you enter Theatre Mode which allows you toggle back and forth. I *don't* have this on mine... what am I missing? D:
Yeah, basically just abuse the game's little nuances. If you zone to the World Map via save point while still in a Form, you're Drive Bar will go back to Max if you re-enter. Of course, finding a place like Darky specified is *the* quickest way, but that's essentially what you wanna do. You won't need to use Drive Recovery items and it's a lot faster in some sense.
Are you Driving in or outside battle? It's the safest to Drive while you're in battle.
You can transform anywhere, with any Drive, just your chances are a lot higher if you're equipped with the Meguriau Futari (Roxas' Keyblade)
