    A Fanfiction by Left-Winged Angel, Soushirei on kh-vids forums.

    Kingdom Hearts III: The Revival--a very very loose working title which may very well change before it debuts--is a work that takes a new focus on Kairi's past and her drastic development from a Princess of Heart to something much more.

    Notes:
    - EDIT: fic WILL include information covered in Final Mix+
    - A new villain is introduced along with characters new and old being introduced or reprised in new and improved ways.
    - Genre: Action/Adventure/Drama/Romance/Comedy (degree of focus varies)
    - Couplings: Primarily Sora/Kairi, however hints of others may apply
    - Setting(s) (confirmed thus far): Destiny Islands/Disney Castle/Radiant Garden/Halloween Town & Candy Cane Lane/Twilight Town/End of The World/Midgar from FFVII:AC/The World That Never Was + Original World

    Any additional questions regarding the fic--granted you have any--I am willing to answer if it isn't spoilerific in nature.
    Rule of thumb: Yes or No type questions are usually the safest questions to ask.

    For now, I suppose it wouldn't be a problem to showcase the Prologue. So hopefully you'll enjoy!

    -- Prologue --
    And there it is. The wedding is not a focal point of the fic, just a note.

    If enough people show interest, I don't mind posting up to Chapter 10 (which completes the first half of the story, and ends the first arc) exclusively here on KH-Vids. My original intention was to wait until I finished the fic completely before posting it on fanfiction.net, however, if I get enough requests here for more, I shall consider the aforementioned. I can't guarantee the completion of the fic until at least the summer, so if it isn't, I won't be posting any chapters beyond 10 until I've finished the fic

    The fic has its own blog (I shall make a link for it soon in my sig) that I've used since last summer to track the fic's progress. Feel free to give it a view--but keep in mind if I start posting more chapters here, the blog will not be updated as it was meant for the FF.net crowd during post-release.

    Although I wouldn't think anyone would do it, I just want to express how upset I'd be if someone took credit for this fic that I've spent lots of hours on--and more to come. I doubt that will be a problem here, however, and I have every intention of finding out if it does occur.

    Hopefully you enjoyed the Prologue--does the scene seem familiar to any of you?

    Actually, I find more resemblance in:

    Riku --> 'Ansem' (Xehanort's Heartless)
    Cloud --> Sephiroth

    The reasons are probably obvious: 'Ansem' and Sephiroth are both manifestations of the darkness in Riku and Cloud's hearts. Although 'Xehanort's Heartless' was defeated by the end of KH1, I think the fact that he continually shows up--not to mention Riku takes on the form of Xehanort's Heartless in KH2--shows that Riku's darkness has somewhat identified itself and is represented by Xehanort's heartless. Similarly, you can conjecture the same thing about Cloud and Sephiroth; there is enough evidence in FFVII and FFVII:AC to back up that Sephiroth is a large representation of Cloud's darkness (or more specifically, his guilt/past/resentment, etc).

    I really must protest IGN's 9.5 rating for FFXII, and its vote for Best RPG of the Year.

    Final Fantasy XII from an overall viewpoint, was a major let-down, and quite possibly the most overrated, overhyped FF title I've ever seen.

    The story itself had incredible potential, however instead of flourishing the amazing cast of characters by developing their pasts, and placing twists every so often--something I would've expected from Square-Enix--I was instead graced by unfinished character mechanics and a very hampered storyline that seemed to go by in a few hours.

    How they managed to do this? Those 100 so hours spent were mostly--if not completely (/sarcasm)--spent on those tedious dungeons that really didn't change from beginning to end. Although the sceneries were obviously different, you would basically thrash through endless numbers of enemies to get to the final Boss Battle. Unless of course, you actually liked spending hours doing the same thing over and over again--the dungeon mechanics completely failed in terms of providing me 'good gameplay'. I'm sorry, Square, the only 7 hour dungeons I like to play through are the ones in Zelda titles. Either you spice up your dungeon objectives or try again.

    Second, in retrospect, Vaan and Penelo had absolutely no reason to be in the game. Penelo more so than Vaan. Vaan makes this gradiose statement some few hours into the game that makes you *believe* he has some purpose for constantly covering your television screen, but sadly this insinuation doesn't meet its end of the bargain as I stared at the ending credits *still* wondering what Vaan meant. The only redeeming quality about the character dynamics was the top-quality voice-acting that completely set the bar for many future titles to come. But those aside, development was stagnant, Gabranth became incredibly emo far too quickly, and to save spoiling for those who haven't played yet, I'll just say I've never seen such a potentially good character *die* in only two cutscenes. Talk about a smack in the face.

    Music wasn't anything special, once again we all realize just how good Nobuo Uematsu is--I pray for the success of FFXIII's soundtrack.

    All in all, I must say FFXII is like an offline FFXI that has an ending. The hours I spent leveling up in FFXI really reflected the entirity of FFXII's gameplay--except there's no one to interact with and no one to yell "NOOB!" at when they manage to train a bunch of monsters to your camp.

    Cloning

    Actually, there are "Body Harvesting" camps that are in existence that--like the name suggests--produces bodies for the sole purpose of creating organs expected to be used for donations in the future.

    These manufactured bodies do not contain heads or brains, however, so the debate about a person 'knowing they exist' is in part, not applicable in this sense. However, there are other moral issues to be debated by this "Body Harvesting" idea on its own, and since this can also encompass the morality behind cloning in itself, it's all the more important to consider.

    First of all, in most controversial cases, the problem lies not so much in the individual action (since there may always be a very specific circumstance that may for some reason or another, condone a choice that would've generally been considered 'immoral') but in the effect that choice may have on society. The 'slippery slope' argument is valid in the case of cloning because although these camps are successful in creating consciousness, brainless bodies that will never be able to feel pain or have a sense of self, social fragmentation will somehow desensitize humanity on the value of the human body.

    If body-harvesting became such a common trend, it's not a hard thing to hypothesize that several decades down the road, the idea that the 'human body' is individual and should be cherished by one's own self becomes a fleeting concept.

    College sucks.

    Beyond that, hopefully this will be a somewhat permanent return--good to see this place still alive and kicking.
