    Tessa nodded and went quiet, observing her guildmates while keeping an eye on Conrad. She didn't really know what else to say, because it was late and her creator had way too much caffeine to really focus. She hoped the food would be done soon because her stomach was beginning to hurt from lack of it.

    Veera nodded to acknowledge Olivia, then crossed her arms over her chest, growing more irritated with Veceslav's every word. Hadn't he understood where she was coming from? Wasn't he of all people supposed to agree with her? But he didn't. Even after berating the mage, Evander, he seemed to take the man's side. She wanted to scream and yell and punch someone like a petulant child. Overcasting all of these wants was the desire to throw the troublesome mage off the balcony.

    But civilized people didn't do that. Witchers didn't do that. Instead, she clenched her hands, pinching the skin on insides of her arms until her nails broke through. "I understand." She said through clenched teeth, before shouldering past the
    Crow and storming off. She needed to hit something, and hard. Or she might just kill one of them. With Kruez, Evander, Veceslav, and the rest of the silent party seemingly against her, it was too much.

    She made her way to the practice dummies, and rolled up her sleeves to her shoulders, ignoring the twinge from her self inflicted injuries as she clenched her fists, then punched. The bare knuckles against the wood cracked, and she drew back the other arm before hitting, the dummy swaying from the force of the blow. She kept going until her knuckles bled before switching to her steel blade, whirling through the positions and transitions of sword play. The exercise calmed her mind and soothed the tension in her body, helping her to formulate a plan. She smiled, the facial expression more of a grimace as she landed one last blow on the dummy, sheathing her sword and wiping the sweat from her brow, leaving a bloody smear.

    She knew what she had to do.

    "Teriana." she replied to Vyle, just as she heard her own name being called. She turned back towards the hut, the hair on the back of her neck rising as a large, and rather hairy form burst from the door. "Son of a bitch." she swore, just as the brown wolf leapt towards them. Well, more towards the vampire. Her mind corrected her. The scene seemed to play out in slow motion. Zach can't take on a High Vampire, he'll be killed. She thought frantically, just as her body started to wave her arms, hoping the movement would attract his attention. "Zach, no!" She screamed just as he leaped into the air. Part of her wanted to step in front, not to save Vyle, but to protect Zach from his own instincts. But if she did that, there was a good chance that the force of Zach's leap would damage her physical form beyond repair.

    "
    Zach, it's Ana! Stop!" She cried again, taking a step forward.

    [IMG]
    Tessa crossed her arms in a fashion of mock haughtiness, a grin on her face. I beat a witcher. "So I guess I get to name three people." She smiled sweetly at Callum. Despite her exterior, inside she was freaking out. She didn't want anyone killed. She only wanted to get out and see the world. Why couldn't he just have helped her get out of the city? Why did he have to kill people? Was this how all witchers were? Had her parents just been named uttered because of a debt?

    That line of thought was too disturbing, and so she tucked it away to keep her exterior calm and sweet. "But first, you need a bath." She pointed at the door of the bathhouse, wrinkling her nose. "I'll wait out here. Don't take your time, or I'll leave you here too." she probably wouldn't, but she didn't want to tell
    Callum that. Then he might keep her waiting for hours as a way to get back at her. It wasn't her fault he couldn't land a jump he shouldn't have tried. Wasn't her fault at all.

    [IMG]
    Zack groaned, the sound muffled against the soft pillow his face was pressed against. If someone wanted to kill him, they were welcome to it. His head felt like it was the head of a nail, with a hammer that never stopped pounding. He pressed one hand to his ear, tongue feeling thick and fuzzy. Way way way too much. He thought to himself as he sat up. His first thought was Bryce, before remembering dimly the walk through the sewers. His second thought was the witcher, who had clearly not yet killed him, and wasn't in the room. Relief, as well as a fresh wave of nausea, rolled through him as he stumbled to the chamber pot and promptly puked up everything in his stomach.

    He didn't even recollect
    Seth or Tessa.

    [IMG]

    The agent Bryce had sent to check on Tessa was nowhere to be found. While he would have loved to do the job himself, he found that the list of agents with information to give went on and on. He hadn't even taken that long of an absence, but apparently it had been long enough for several days work to accumulate. He rubbed his face as yet another cloaked figure approached, writing something down in cipher as the figure, apparently missing a few teeth, whispered to him. Hopefully Tessa wouldn't be gone much longer. Bryce worried about the girl. He had forbidden her from becoming one of his spies, a popular trade amongst the dopplers that remained in Sanctuary. He hoped she wasn't getting in trouble. It appeared they had enough of it already.

    Tessa listened to Silvia's response, before waving shyly at Leo. From the way the two talked to each other, she would have guessed they were a little more then friends. Unsure of what to say, she returned to Conrad's side, watching him quietly as she gripped the hem of her shirt silently. The other woman, Beucette hadn't spoken more then a few words, and her silence was making Tessa a little more nervous. It's alright. She told herself. They're all friends here. And it seemed no one had noticed Conrad's injuries, or heard about what had happened. Good.

    "I can take over,
    Conrad, if you want me to. You shouldn't strain yourself, Damian said." She murmured quietly, to keep the others from hearing.

    Left. Veera decided, heading that direction. She turned the corner, pressing her hand to the cool wall for a moment. That's strange. For a moment I-
    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Veera rolled over, then sat up. She rubbed her head, gazing around the room as she tried to get her bearings. The last thing she remembered was walking out the door to look for food..she looked down at her clothes, blinking again. What she could have swore had been school clothes was now a long, baggy t shirt and sweat pants. Awesomely comfortable, but more then a little disconcerting that she didn't remember putting them on.
    She swung her legs out of bed, rubbing her shoulder before prowling around the room. It seemed both
    Flora and Christie were still asleep, and she didn't really want to disturb them. She was more preoccupied with the fact she hadn't eaten. Practically running into the kitchen, she opened the cupboards one by one before discovering heaven; a couple of chocolate bars. Two of them were devoured in seconds, and she was munching on a third as she wandered back into the bedroom area. So what did happen? Are we expected to go to school today?
    [IMG]
    Teliana started to say something to Zephyr, but her ears felt funny. She frowned, putting her free hand up to one, before trying to speak again. It was like she wasn't making sense. "Um, I-" she felt herself pitch forward as the air rushed by her ears and her heartbeat thundered in her head.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    She sat up in bed, panting, dripping with sweat. The salty liquid stung where it landed in her wound, which had bled through the sheets. Grimacing, she swung her legs over the side of the bed, hobbling into the bathroom. Once there, she opened the medicine cabinet, reaching for the first aid kit. Something in the back of her mind told her this what was she needed. As she sorted through to the band aids and wrappings, she also tried to sift through her memories. What had happened? She had been talking to Zephyr, worried about Analise, and what Isabela would do....and then nothing. That was disconcerting. She wrapped one of the long white bandages several times around her waist before tying it off, sighing as she looked at the nearly empty roll. Hopefully magic would either make an appearance soon, or she would run out of supplies.

    She noticed for the first time her clothing had changed. While she didn't mind her body, and wasn't ashamed of it, the thought of someone else touching her without her knowledge made her shudder. Had it been
    Zephyr? He's not the type. She decided, before peeking out. It didn't appear anyone else was awake yet, but neither was she hungry. She glanced between her room and the door, before walking to the dresser. Getting the "school" clothes on quickly, she left the sleeping ones in a heap next to the bed and walked out the door, eager to explore before she was knocked out again.

    [IMG]
    Tessa felt reassured by Renee's words, and offered her a wide smile in response. "I like that idea. It's better then the place i came from, anyway. I-"

    ~~~~~~~~
    Tessa stretched, woken by Renee's soft words. Wait, how had she ended up in bed? She sat up, her hair in messy tangles around her face as she jumped off the bed with a thump, looking around the room nervously. She didn't see anyone...but how had she gotten in there? She had been talking to Renee, and....Tessa sighed, then took a deep breath. Relax. Renee said this was just an adventure. Something fun. No danger. She felt a bit better, enough that she walked out of her room and towards the other girl, who was busy pouring herself cereal. Tessa rummaged through the cupboards and found a pastry, which she began to unwrap as she sat across from Renee, already wide awake.
    "Um..morning." she greeted
    Renee. "Do you remember what happened? I don't know how I managed to get to bed, or why I can't remember the rest of the day."
    Veera offered a half smile at Kruez, she couldn't tell if his comment to Tatiana was in jest or not, but it lightened her mood slightly. "No one believes you're at fault." She told Tatiana, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'm not supposed to bring outsiders so the fact that-"
    "Last I checked ladies didn't slam doors, or yell for that matter..." She turned towards
    Veceslav with a smile, one that was strained. "Good to see you as well." She returned to greeting before gripping the insides of her arms tightly with her hands as he inspected their rag tag group. Apparently Evander was acquainted with the Crow, and not in the best of ways. She wasn't quite prepared for that, but it was too late now. Squaring her shoulders, she stepped forward to regain the Crow's attention, putting herself between her and her....friends? She knew no other term to call them by.
    "This is
    Tatiana, Evander, and....." The second mage had yet to introduce himself. "And a new friend." She finished lamely. "I brought them here. Evander was kind enough to create a portal, from which we came from Novigrad. Tatiana was assaulted by a monster, and in my haste to save her, I allowed her to drink Swallow. She is my responsibility now." For better or worse, she thought to herself.
    "The mages are here to help us. We...I want to make a plan to eradicate the dopplers." The last part was said in somewhat hushed tones. "I've seen the damage just a single one of the creatures can do, and if they all turn to that....humanity would be doomed." She finished, resisting the urge to bite her lip. She had to remain confident, and strong. She knew she was right. It was just a matter if
    Veceslav agreed.
    She followed Conrad's directions, breathing deeply until her mind was clear and her thoughts were calm. She grabbed the parsley, gently dumping it into the bowl before grabbing the milk. Eyeing the cloudy liquid suspiciously, she began to pour it into a bowl, waiting until Conrad told her to stop before setting it back on the counter, and screwing on the lid.
    "That's....really cool." Tessa replied to Silvia as she turned around, for lack of a better word. Because it was. She could fix things. "Did it take you a long time to learn? And did you have someone teach you?" Perhaps with both Damian and Silvia's teachings, she could figure out something in the middle. All of this of course, somehow after she found someone to train her magic properly. But she could sort that out after the meal. Her stomach was rumbling with the scents that were drifting from the pot of stew, and while she was sure the dumplings would turn out find under Conrad's direction, they kind of looked strange at the moment. She was getting ahead of herself, she decided. Damian had probably agreed to help her just out of nicety, and she hadn't even asked Silvia yet. Calm down, girl. The man Caliborn first. Then other people later. After the meal. She nodded to herself. Right. Good. a plan.
Anyway welcome back, and though I think Amaury covered all the finer points of happiness, there's a few things around here that have changed (I know I was overwhelmed after coming back from a few years leave of absence) so feel free to ask any friends old or new for advice and assistance!
    Veera hooked her ankle around the leg of a chair and pulled it out, helping Tatiana to sit down before rolling her shoulder, stretching out the muscle as she looked around. Definitely the library. And probably the last place they should have landed, but bygones. She peered around the room, finding it empty. Well...one thing to do then. She strode towards the doors, pulled them open, and shouted down the hall.
    "OY!
    CROW! YOUR ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED IN THE LIBRARY!"
    It was reasonable to assume he was here. He always wintered in Kaer Morhen. She hoped no one else would come running before he did, but it couldn't be helped. She didn't want the outsiders to see more without an okay from the older man, and she definitely didn't want to be wasting time facing questions from
    Veceslav when they could be planning a strategy instead.
    "I'M WAITING!" She finished, before slamming the doors shut with a sigh. It occurred to her that he might be drawn simply by the fact that she had appeared suddenly in the old fortress, without using the usual courtesy of doors or windows. Ah well. She would see. She nodded curtly to
    Kruez and Evander, as they stepped through. "Don't touch the books. I'll probably lose a hand for this anyway. Would rather like to keep the whole arm." she grumbled, trying not to second guess herself.
    [IMG]
    Ana bit her lip to hold back the retort to Vyle's rude comment as she grabbed a nearby glass and dumped the poultice into it, tossing in a little goat's milk and honey to sweeten it. She turned to Zach and pressed the glass into his hands, drawing his attention back to her. "Drink it." she murmured to him, hoping the intensity of her voice brought about the point that it was very important. "All of it." she added, before taking a breath to steady herself, and stepping outside, into the darkness.
    Great. Nothing like speaking to a vampire in the dark. She called a small flame to her hands, holding it next to her like a lamp, illuminating both their aces. At the mention of the necromancer, she found herself shivering uncontrollably. Not yet, Teliana told herself, trying to calm down. "I understand your position a bit better." She managed to say, leaning against the door to keep her knees from giving way under her resurfacing fear. "But I think it is unwise of you to ask for my help after you insult my friend." However, he was right. They couldn't let that man roam around free.
    "I suppose we can come to some sort of agreement." She glanced up at the sky, sighing. She should still have a little time. "In fact, I think we both would be better served if we discussed this later. But I will help you. As best as I can." She agreed cautiously.
    [IMG]
    Tessa tore around corners, ducked under wagons (that one she was quite proud of), and jumped over dogs in order to make it to the bathhouse first. She was panting by the time she skidded to a stop, and people glanced at her curiously. Recognizing the danger of being perceived as a criminal running from a crime, she ducked into a side alley, leaning against the wall in shadow to catch her breath. Looking around, she tried to spot Callum. Had he made it here first?
    [IMG]
    Bryce steepled his fingers and braced his elbows on his legs, thinking deeply. "You're sure of this?" He asked the hooded figure softly, who nodded. "I mean absolutely sure." The figure nodded once more, and when Bryce offered coin, pushed his hand away before turning and vanishing into the evening shadows. Bryce sat on the doorstep of his home, one knee bouncing in anxiety as he thought, his brow furrowed. "I'm getting too old for this." He muttered, rubbing his face with his hands before beckoning with the left. "What have you got?" A second figure, cloaked in grey, stepped up to whisper in his ear. He listened with the crow's feet deepening next to his eyes and the frown slowly growing.
    It was true what they said; no news was good news.
    Veera struggled to swallow the water. It was lukewarm, and slightly foul tasting, but it was liquid. Her arms were throbbing waves of pain, and she swung slightly, teetering on the edge of consciousness. It would have been nice, to just let go, but she had to stay here, and now. The view of the knife entering Drake's body called her back into action, and she kicked out at one of the guards next to her. She hoped it wasn't the one who had been nice with the water, but if it was, well, karma was a bitch. "You bastards will pay for this." She spat weakly, her words lined with venom. If Drake went down, then they lost all hope for the city to survive. And Flame would be heartbroken beyond repair. If it killed her, she would at least make sure he escaped.
    "I'll make sure you regret every single inch of pain." She whispered through clenched teeth as she struggled to stand. Her feet felt strange beneath her, but she managed it.
    [IMG]
    Tessa sidled closer to Zack, grabbing the hem of his shirt and holding it tightly as she stared at the king with determined eyes. Veera, and Drake? The rest were..dead? She hadn't really known them, but they had seemed like a close bunch. And it was easy to tell what Flame felt for Drake. She had always secretly hoped the two would one day marry, and it would be a wedding like those in the fairy tales. Her mouth set in a straight line, she focused her attention on Gale, waiting for him to speak.
    [IMG]
    Zack felt a twinge of anxiety, mirrored by Tessa as she clung to his shirt, a habit she had picked up when they were younger. He wondered if Adelina knew yet. The king didn't say that he had to take the mission, and he was had promised Adelina to take her on a date, one she said she was really looking forward to. The expression on her face, the disappointment made something in his chest ache, and he exhaled, trying to get rid of it. But if Tessa went on this mission without him, and something happened....he chose to avoid this line of thought and focused on Gale.
    [IMG]
    Kala was sweeping the floor, for all the world looking like a mundane human. And for a little bit, she could pretend that she was. But all too quickly, her senses sharpened, and her eyes turned up from her task to the window, where a small bird had perched. Her mouth went dry, and she licked her lips as the small creature stared at her. So easy....so easy to take you. She took a half step forward, and a rustling noise sent the bird flying away, off into the sky. It was just as well, because a moment later Princess Amber, better known as Flame, stormed in. Looking very upset. "Oh dear." Kala murmured, setting her broom aside and wiping her hands as she carefully stepped over the small dust pile. "Flame, what's wrong? You look really upset." She could have a few guesses, but it would be better, much better, to hear it from the girl's lips.
    "Oh my." she gasped, even as the sight of the
    fae's blood trickling over her face made her heart beat just a little too fast. Let the girl think it was in anxiety. Kala could barely contain herself from holding the girl down and draining the life from her. But she mustn't.
    "
    Flame, what happened to you?" She ran into the next room, nearly soundless as she grabbed the closest kit of medical supplies, and brought it back, gesturing for the fae to sit down while she tended to her. In a city that lived in fear of titans, at least you could be sure that wherever you were, bandages and sutures would be nearby.
    Kara narrowed her eyes at the word thief, but relaxed her stance once he promised to not touch her weapon. "That would be a good choice." She replied to Tobias, letting the axe head rest precariously on her shoulder. "So. Tobias. Are you really interested in escaping with me, or is this part of a scheme to plunder whoever these gentlemen are of their riches?" She glanced around the dark cave, but didn't see anything strictly of value. Granted, she wasn't a thief, she was a mercenary. She wasn't supposed to know anything but fighting.
    "Because I'm not interested in sticking around to see why I was taken."
    [IMG]
    Veera narrowed her eyes. "It's impolite to gloat." She snapped at Hunter, crossing her arms over her chest. "Let me guess. You picked the correct house first, and managed to kidnap him. Or else you saw him leaving one of the houses and followed him and killed him before leaving me the finger." She pinched the bridge of her nose as the words sexual favors floated by her ears. Of course he would go there. What man wouldn't? Not that she hadn't thought of it herself, but it was more annoying when he was the one demanding such things. It would have been much more gratifying the other way around.
    Ana frowned. "Perhaps we are all cursed to lose our magic here." She sighed. "That makes things infinitely more difficult." And slightly more hazardous. Now she would have to resort to carrying around the dagger in order to protect herself. "Do you think perhaps we should explore?" She asked Zephyr, still loathe to leave Analise, but they couldn't reasonably stand here guarding her forever. Either the girl would have to wake up, or they would have to carry her, or Lucas would hopefully come back. The second option doesn't seem like much of an option at all.
    "I don't much fancy our chances of staying here and waiting for something to happen." She clarified. "And I could really use some sort of healing. Except magic doesn't exist. Medical attention, perhaps?" There had been human women in her world, after all, who could stitch and seal wounds without magic. Perhaps such skill still existed here.
    [IMG]
    Veera stood up, tired of resting. Tired of waiting. "I think I'm going to go try to explore." She announced to both Flora and Christie. "There might be a way out, or maybe food, at least." Come to think of it, she was kind of hungry. "You guys can come with, if you want." But where she was from, you didn't get anything you didn't work for. Or search for. And walking would take her mind off her injury. It didn't occur to her she might need a weapon, or anything really, to defend herself. Who would want to hurt her in a school?
    She stepped out into the hallway, and looked left, then right. Which way to go?
    Tessa sat at one of the tables at the inn, tracing the wood with her fingertips as she waited. Waited for whoever the hell else had joined Legio Julius. She had never really paid attention to the other members, and she didn't really think she needed to now. But Bryce was a on a date, and she didn't really have much else to do. She sighed. If it took much longer for anyone else to walk in, for whatever mindless purpose they wanted to, she was going to go out and find battle somewhere. At least then she could summon Lancelot, and have someone to talk to.
    [IMG]
    Bryce hurried towards the aforementioned park, brushing his hands distractedly through his hair. Tessa hadn't met him like she was supposed to, and now he was late, late, to the date he had purposed. He may not have had much in his head, but he did have the common sense to know better then to stand a lady up.
    "I'm so sorry." He said to
    Emma, sitting down next to her with an exasperated sigh. "Tessa left me high and dry and-" He stopped, taking a moment to look, actually look at Emma. "You uh....look good. Nice." He told her, unable to look at his own attire. It wasn't plain or ripped, but running here had made it a little dirty....he brushed at some of the smudges on his shirt self consciously before abandoning the act. "Sorry." He said again.
    Tessa blushed with embarrassment when both Conrad and Silvia noticed her wound. "It's fine-" She was cut off as Silvia took her hand, and bit her lip. The liquid stung a little bit before the pain disappeared as the skin knitted together. "Um..." She stammered, surprised for a moment. "Thank you." Her tone mimicked her expression as she pulled her hand back and examined the newly healed palm. "That was very kind." See now, why couldn't she do that. "Do you have healing magic?"
    She glanced back at
    Conrad uncertainly before stepping back to his side. "Maybe we could eat together?" She suggested quietly to Conrad. "Unless you want to eat by yourself, or if you just want to eat with me, I guess I don't know how this works..." she was rambling now. "I'm Tessa. I'm new." She waved at Beucette and Silvia shyly.
