Actually you could focus on both of them if you want to. I just felt that the scenes with Roxas, Ven, and Sora were somewhat unnecessary. And I think you misunderstood what I meant with my metaphor. I was saying that I think it'd be better if you start and end at different points in the song so you could better tell your story while still fitting into the time limit. I'm expecting all of the parts in this MEP to be succinct so you gotta find what in the song is necessary while cutting out what isn't. Honestly it isn't that the song wouldn't work. You just didn't make it work. But whatever...if you want to use a different one, go ahead. Tell me what song you're going to use so I can put it on the list.

I thought it was pretty obvious. At least that's what I assumed from the people who have already uploaded their parts to be turned in or for critique. These two seconds before and after my video technically aren't part of my song. So why would they count as a part of it? Your audio cut has to be 1 minute. The video in total doesn't. Plus I've already answered this before. I'll edit the first post to include the new stuff though along with clearing up a few things. Would anybody else like me to clear anything up?

Okay, here's the critique. I'm sorry if these sound mean. I see that you've tried to do more lyrical and beat synching in your video and that's a step in the right direction. One thing I noticed though is that the video sort of just ends without any sort of resolution. Think of it like how plots are taught in English class. You've got your beginning, rising action, climax, falling action and then end. Your video feels like it's building up to a climax, which is usually the chorus of the song, and then it just ends before we get there. Kind of disappointing, don't you think? Think of your MEP part like a short story. You want to tell the story quickly but well enough that it leaves an impact and people understand what they have just watched. It's like you took the song and ended it one minute in because that's your time limit. Instead you could try starting at a different point in the song to allow you more time to find a nice part to end it at. Another thing is that it isn't focused enough. What I mean by this is that I can't determine who this video is about. Is it a Terra video? A Riku video? A Ven one? Roxas? Sora? The lyrics in particular don't fit Ven, Roxas and Sora so I'm a little confused as to why they're there. And looking through the lyrics of the song, this is very much a song that fits with Riku and/or Terra. First thing I noticed about the video is the Kingdom Hearts 3D footage that you used. What brought my attention to it was its low quality...because it was recorded with a camera. Find a video of that cutscene that was recorded properly or I won't accept it. As for the editing, well the video lacks a fundamental concept. What's the point of this video? Do you want to tell a story? Do you want to want the video to be tightly synched to the music? How do you want to the audience to view this footage. Because at the moment, there doesn't seem to be any lyrical synching or beat synching or anything that fits with the mood so for me, it just looks like Kingdom Hearts scenes set to disco. The song and video just feel like they're there...to be there. There needs to be an idea that makes those two work together or they'll never work together and neither will the video as a result. Okay I really like what you've done to improve this video. The scenes are flowing together much better in my opinion and to be honest, little changes like that do make a difference in how your video is viewed. I know you asked for help on the Riku section in particular but I think it works fine the way it is and so does the rest of the AMV to be honest. Maybe you could try adding more scenes of "what he was like" and then of "what he became" to get the point across better? Honestly do what feels right for you. I suggest looking at videos that are like the one you're editing right now and see what you can pull from them. If you feel that something from another video would work in yours then why not try it out? I also updated the table in the first post. I hate it when people confuse the subgenres of electronic music. Now I don't expect people to know every single one of them and sometimes people make honest mistakes and I'll let those slide, but it's annoying when you're told "I don't understand how you can like that type of music. No, he can still join. I even sent out a PM last Saturday to the people who were interested in joining but hadn't posted yet to confirm their participation and he was one of them. This is actually the last day to confirm participation. Well I was expecting people who were interested in joining to post in the First Phase thread first and then confirm their participation here. I didn't expect for people to join when the Second Phase had already started since I had left the First Phase thread open for about two weeks and towards the end, it seemed as if there were no more people interested. I'll let you and a couple of others who also were late join but I don't think I'll let anybody else join after this because we already have a lot of people. Now it's time for me to update the first post so it's all purty looking. @The people who asked for critique: I will get to those soon so expect this post to be edited or for me to or for another post with those critiques.
