Tessa let her legs swing out over the ledge, looking down at the ground below. There were no titans in the area, yet. But she figured they must be nearby. They always seemed to be nearby, and it would be too much to ask for a break. Trying to take a positive outlook on the day, she looked up at the canopy of trees. At least the weather was nice. And there were no titans close by. Her feet dangled in free fall as she gently touched the 3D maneuvering gear with the tips of her fingers. It had been a gift to all the cadets on their graduating day, when they had finally been able to choose where they would work in this society. She had chosen the Scouting Regiment, had her heart set on it since she had been younger. Of course that meant that her friend Zack followed her too.

She smiled as she thought of her older friend. He acted very much the older brother around her. While it was sweet, it did get a little annoying. Speaking of Zack, she sighed, standing up. She was supposed to meet him for lunch. Since they were both newly graduated cadets, they weren't sent out on any missions just yet. She knew that it was because they needed to be watched and protected by veterans in order to keep them from being torn apart. It was annoying, and yet, she felt relieved, in a way. She wouldn't have wanted to go on the mission today. She hated raiding the city, and taking from people. It just didn't seem like a fair way to live. They did alright without stealing, didn't they?

Zack looked up at the sky and sighed. He was on the very edge of the town, watching between the trunks of the trees for any sign of movement. Could be a deer, something he could kill and bring back to the kitchens, or it could be a titan, something he would very much need help with. Had he been a big younger, he would have said he needed an adult, but now, Zack was very much an adult. And he was expected to act like one. Which was why he was out here, when he could have been getting a drink, or better yet; lunch.

Shit. He was supposed to have lunch with Tessa. He looked around, feeling guilty for some reason. It wasn't like he was getting paid to be here, and he most certainly wasn't on duty. But all the same, it felt like he shouldn't leave. Well, when there wasn't a logical reason for it, he didn't listen, and turned, walking along the wooden pathways with his hands shoved into his pockets. His 3D maneuvering gear bumped along his hip, a reminder that he was freshly graduated from the cadet school. He smiled proudly at the thought, the expression tempered by the reminder that neither his mother nor his aunt had showed much excitement. Granted, they were worried he was going to get hurt, or worse, killed, but he had confidence in his abilities, and those of his friends. As long as they stuck together, he was sure they would maker it through.

Veera hid her bored expression as her leader and commanding officer, Drake, bantered with the king. She had no interest in the leader of their city, or honestly in any of his concerns. Her only concern was the titans, and making sure they didn't hurt anyone ever again. Except for the bureaucratic stiffs back at the city. They could be torn apart limb by limb and devoured by a titan and she wouldn't bat an eye. She had only been thirteen when they had evicted her, among others from the city, with the mission of trying to bring back supplies for the townspeople. Right. Without any weapons or support from the military. The reminder was still a bitter pill to swallow, and she grimaced, wishing that they could just get on with this. She dearly needed the distraction from her thoughts.

As though her mind was read, Drake bid farewell to the king and turned back to them, surveying the group with his sharp eyes. "Alright, let's go. We'll get the stuff, and then get back to the city before Adelina's done with dinner." She swore she could have heard some chuckles from her teammates, but she remained solemn. Her nerves were stretched and her body tense. She hated going back to the city, even if they went to part she had never explored as a child. With an exasperated sigh at herself, she followed her leader out into the wilderness, forcing her mind to focus on their surroundings. Even the smallest of distractions was dangerous when the titans were involved. And she would not make herself easy prey.

Ana blinked. Then blinked again. Somewhere in her mind her thoughts stuttered to a stop, and she felt her breath catch in her throat, her cheeks flushing with blood.
Nope. Not today. Not gonna happen. She turned on her feel as Aedion was replying to Hunter's protestations. "Spect-I mean Zeal." She didn't look at him, her face still beet red with embarassment, and something else. "Let's leave the boys to their alone time."

That was how she left Aedion and Hunter to battle in the streets, for whatever reason they deemed fit, as she strolled away quickly, towards Neoph's house. She didn't say a word the entire walk, fuming about what she had just seen. She hadn't been planning on listening to Hunter, but now she wished she had. Or did she? Who knew. She was nowhere near ready to go anywhere close to that particular part of the body for a long long time, nor the male it was attached to.

Her scythe was leaning up against the frame of the porch. She grabbed it and gave it an experimental twirl, her wounded arm aching but a smile catching on her face in spite of herself. She felt comforted by the familiar weight, and let the pole rest in both hands as she turned back.

"Should we wait for them, or go out on our own?" She asked, hoping Zeal was there to answer but more then happy to talk to herself, letting her hands grip the wood tightly before relaxing. Luckily, none of her injuries seemed to damage the muscle, and despite her weariness, she would be able to do some damage if it came to battle. As much as she hoped it didn't.

    Level 4
Tessa changed her aim from the boss to the remaining Level 2 and 4 goblins that still perforated the area. She tried to support other players as best she could, feeling her stomach since whenever one of them took an injury or a blow. She didn't like to watch other people get hurt, and while she had pulled the gun on Emma earlier, it had been in defense of her brother. She wasn't sure she could have actually pulled the trigger, if it came down to it. She let her mind focus on the task and pulled the trigger, watching through the scope as another of the monsters turned to pixelated dust. Her arms trembled, and she felt as though she had run miles at full speed. Perhaps it wasn't so good to level up so quickly, but she needed to catch up to the others. She needed to make sure she was a high enough level that she could take care of herself, and Bryce, and Emma.
Another Elite Goblin went down, and she sighed, pressing her head against the butt of the rifle for a moment as a wave of exhaustion washed over her. The message in the corner popped up that she had reached level five. She raised her head and tiredly aimed once more.

    Level 4
Bryce blocked an uppercut before slicing through a goblin's middle, watching it dissolve before turning to the next. "One!" he called out before turning his thoughts to her question as his body reacted instinctively to the enemies' movements. "A couple years." Every day for a couple years. "What about you?" He felt tired, but not overly so. As he glanced up at the tower before parrying a blow, he realized that Tessa's gunshots were slowing. Was something wrong? Or was she just running out of bullets? He glanced at Boudica beside him as she aimed, her cheek pressed against her hand before she released the arrow, red hair a fiery mess that accented the paleness of her skin and the green of her eyes.

"Boudica, could you?..." She glanced at him and sighed, letting the bowstring relax as she reached for another arrow. "I'm sorry, but I cannot leave your side. I haven't heard any commotion from behind us, and I believe they are still alive and well."

Bryce nodded, cutting the second goblin down. "Two." He said, much quieter. Should he go back to check on Tessa? If she was fine, she wouldn't appreciate the interruption, but if she wasn't, she might need help....

This is just to see if anyone would be interested in joining an RP based loosely on the Witcher. By loosely I mean that there would be the Witchers, magic, and the species of monsters, but it'll be a different world. You won't need to know any of the history of the Witcher series, and the characters will be completely knew. The aim will be to give both people unfamiliar with the series and those that love it a place to role play.

    So....yeah. Anyone interested?

Tessa was unsure what to do. Several people had come upon the group at once, LeNoir wanted to be with Sherridan but Sherridan didn't feel the same, and this strange...person was staring at her. She shivered, a completely instinctive response as she let her waves of perception wash around the area, in case anyone else wanted to find the group. The little girl was nearby, the least threatening of anyone here.

"Tell me, what can you do?" What could she do? For the first time in her life, Tessa felt her confidence disappear completely. She couldn't do anything. She couldn't help these people. She couldn't even find the Hero himself, or dissuade him from a dark path. She couldn't keep her parents from leaving her. She could do nothing. Wrapping her arms around her waist, she bit her lip against the ache that seemed to grow in her chest as she struggled to find an answer. "I'm Tessa." She finally whispered, staring at the ground as the cold presence surrounded her. She quickly put up the mental walls, keeping herself from sensing anything more. With a single sentence he had already managed to shatter what Sherridan had cracked. She wasn't sure she wanted to know what he could do if he wanted to hurt her.

Tessa, doing the most daring thing she had ever done in her life, grabbed the nearest chair and sat down, her legs tired. "I think it's um...air magic?" She murmured, grabbing a strand of hair and nervously braiding it between her fingers. With her answer, she had thus replied to both guild members asking her questions. "But I don't know for sure." She amended, her fingers braiding faster as she talked. "Is there a way to tell?" She asked weakly, licking her lips nervously at the thought of doing to the guild hall what had happened to her home. What happened to her parents, to these people who had been so kind to her.

Ana blushed at Aedion's comments, but felt pleased at his words. When had been the last time someone had asked her name? Had complimented her name? Well, to be fair, Neoph had only a few hours ago, but still, point made. She crossed her arms, tapping her foot as she quickly decided whether she should allow Aedion to follow her to Neoph's house. It wasn't like she had a weapon, but wasn't this place supposed to be safe? She frowned, biting her lip. In the midst of the commotion, there had been one member of their group who had not yet been introduced.

She glanced at Specter, then sighed. Had to start somewhere. "Hi, I'm Ana." She introduced herself to the silent, though not intimidating character. "Why don't you come with us? I won't be long, and then we can go do whatever we need to. That way we're all together." She winced at her supposed to be encouraging speech. She needed to work on her people skills. "I guess, if you want to come with Aedion, I promise I'll make it fast." She would have been faster if she hadn't been such an idiot and left her weapon at home. Her weapon. What the hell kind of warrior was she?

Without waiting for a reply from Hunter, she threw him a glare before turning on her heel and striding out of the room. Cheerleader my as[italics]s[/italics]. If he thought so highly of her, then he wouldn't have a problem following her to Neoph's home to get her weapon. Would he? She nearly hesitated, a moment of doubt creeping into her mind. What was she doing? Leading people she barely knew to a home that wasn't hers? But the second passed and she kept walking, not looking back to see who was following. Because if she had turned, and seen that no one was coming with her, she might have lost all courage.
She didn't want to be defenseless anymore.

Kala felt that last one, but the pain only succeeded in fueling her battle lust. Yes, she would pay for it after, and yes, she made need more then a stiff drink and a good bed, but right now, she still remained in her element. Leaping up, she tried to surprise the creature by going on the attack, so soon after being wounded. Most creatures would try to stop, take stock of their situation and reevaluate. Kala was none of those. She sliced upwards in a stroke that made her arms tremble with effort, slashing at the creature with all of her strength. There was no doubt, this was a strong enemy. But she would be damned if she was going to go down without a fight. Blood splashed on the ground at her feet, but she ignored it, sliding underneath the creature's arms and cutting horizontally, in her mind hoping that the effort was enough to nearly cut the creature in half.

It wasn't at all realistic, but it would be pretty awesome to see.
