Tessa was far more badass then she had given herself credit for. Alexis had come to stand in front of her, but Tessa couldn't have that. Alexis was a good person who got cursed with bad powers. She had been so nice to Tessa, and how had Tessa repaid her? By ignoring her, by being able to speak. Well not today.

"You hear that Satan (AKA Lingering Will)? Not today!" Grabbing the end of Alexis' bullwhip, she yanked it back and used the motion to somehow propel her forward, over Alexis in the most awesome manner possible to block the incoming hit. She then turned and smiled at Alexis, careful to only pat the girl where there was clothing.

"Let's kick this thing's ass together.' She suggested, before turning and retaliating with martial arts against the Lingering Will AKA Satan.

Veera stepped in front of Flame in one fluid movement, raising one of her swords up just as the woman brought hers down. The clang echoed down the alley, and she winced. That was going to get the wrong kind of attention. "You know nothing." She hissed at the woman, pulling her sword away and stabbing at her. "You never knew anything, and you'll die knowing nothing." She was surprised at the vehemence in her own voice, but then again, compartmentalizing had not really been her strong suit.

"So f*ck you." Veera decided, stabbing at woman with both swords in an effort to catch her off guard. If she died, she died. One less person to try to sneak past.

Tessa did what the king said with ease, wondering what had become of Hunter and Olivia as she did so in only one sentence because her creator is a lazy sh*it right now.
Zack did the same as Tessa, only much better then she did because for some reason he was better then her. His thoughts were focused solely on Adelina because he was a guy and his creator apologizes for her awful post.

Ana pulled herself up from the rubble, arm wrapped around her diaphragm. She had heard the crack, and the pain lanced through her chest as she tried to breath. Ouch. Moving slowly, she pushed herself up until she was standing on her own two feet. Throughout the entire ordeal, she hadn't once lost her grip on her scythe, and used the pole as a support. And so it seems we've come full circle. She grinned at the irony before her knees buckled as a giggle bubbled in her throat. "Whoever said laughter was the best medicine can go to hell." She muttered, glancing back the ruined frame of the doorway before stepping back onto the street.

Back into the chaos. Neoph was attempting to tell the group to get the civilians back to safety. Why? Because she was a girl? Because she was injured? She took personal offense to the comment and slashed the blade of the scythe through the air, creating a loud whistle. Her other arm still wrapped around her chest to try to hold the broken bones together, and, if she was lucky, keep them from puncturing her lungs. But she would be damned if she left the field of battle to go hide. She had looked into the eyes of this thing, or lack there of, and she felt no fear from it.

"So lets go, you son of a bitch." One foot in front of the other as her pace quickened before she rushed forward and slashed at one of the tentacles, eyes burning with the fire of vengeance. "No one puts a scratch on me and lives to tell about it."

Tessa shrugged as Neoph ignored her words and charged into battle. She noticed one woman who was already injured, and the rest of the capable adults fighting the Twilight Thorn. "Well this is a hell of a welcoming ceremony." She said to herself before grabbing the nearest drain pipe and shimmying up. Once she was on top of the roof, she aimed her bow and took fire at the enemy as Neoph yelled for them to get the townspeople to safety. Well the others could do that. They weren't her townspeople. She had only signed up to kill Nobodies.

The first of your kind. The only of your kind. She was sure she would have felt something from those words, but whatever it was she just shoved it down further, repressing it. Perhaps one day, she would go back and air out what feelings she might have had, but right now, she had a job to do. "Right, so someone knows about it. And you know the someone, and you want the information." She clenched and released her fingers, feeling excitement shiver through her. Damn she needed a drink right now. But it could wait. Maybe.

"Give me the name, the place. I'll get that information for you." In the best of ways, she would. She pulled her cowl up to hide her lower face as she looked down, trying to hide the excitement she felt.

Tessa strolled into the room, pausing to salute the king and Akari before taking her place at whatever side she needed to. She crossed her hands behind her back and waited, slightly impatiently, until Zack stumbled in, out of breath and cheeks flushed. She raised an eyebrow before turning her attention back to the king, waiting for her leader's orders.

Zack hesitated as Adelina turned away. Now or never, man. He could practically hear Tessa's voice in his head, and he decided to run with what could be possibly the worst advice of his life. He swooped in and gently planted a kiss on her cheek before turning and running out of the dining hall, as fast as his legs could carry him, thus keeping him from seeing her reaction. Despite not having taken very long, he was way behind Tessa, and didn't catch up until he nearly skidded past the door, hastily saluting the king and trying to keep it subtle that he was out of breath.

"So sorry, Your Majesty, ma'am." He tried to be as honorific as he could to soothe the irritated look on the
king's face. Akari didn't seem to mind, she was chatting with Griffin, who had also beat him here. Well....now he looked bad. But it was worth it, he thought to himself with another blush. At least.....he hoped it was.

"Well...you've got Drake to protect you. And all of us." Veera replied lamely, kicking a rock with her shoe. The sound echoed across the empty street, and she felt a pang in her heart as she glanced at the ruined houses. All the streets looked similar, all the houses looked the same to her mind. Had she played on this as a child? Unaware of the atrocities her parents would allow, the people she was supposed to trust would commit?

"Not that you need protecting. But it stands to reason that with your skills and the rest of us backing you up, you wouldn't have trouble with much of anything." She added trying to make
Flame feel better, reaching down to take a piece of twisted metal. It didn't necessarily do any good to bring back, but she liked the feel of it in her hands, and without being able to draw her own swords and raise suspicion, it felt good to have a weapon in her hands. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Tessa set straight to work attacking the enemy with her awesome but not quite godly martial arts skills, more then a little disappointed that Zephyr hadn't noticed her. So her aggression needed to go somewhere. And "Lingering Will" seemed like a good place to start.

Tessa hesitated before offering a little wave, a shy smile lighting her face. "Hi." she responded, her voice quiet as she nervously tucked some hair behind her ear. "Um..I guess I am! I came back to my gloves," she clenched her hand, smiling a little more as the leather gripped her skin comfortingly, "because a friend and I were going to investigate that loud noise, did you hear it too?" As she spoke, she started to relax a bit more. This girl seemed nice. Perhaps it wouldn't be like the Tower, and she would be able to make friends. "I'm Tessa, by the way."

Veera rose from the bed, only to grasp Tatiana's head to hold her still. It wasn't a tight hold, because if she did that the force of Tatiana's body might snap her neck. She barely had enough time to force open the girl's jaws and shove her hand in. The girl's teeth bit down on her, breaking the skin, and she winced, but endured the pain. Better then the girl's tongue.
After a few minutes, the seizure ended, and she withdrew, trying to make Tatiana comfortable as she shivered and whimpered. "It's okay to be frightened." She murmured, even though she was positive the girl could no longer hear her. The hallucinations seemed very well, and very horrifying. "I think you'll come out of this stronger then you believe yourself to be."

Sitting back down, she kept watch over the girl, listening to her cries for her mother and brother, only able to imagine the horrors her tortured mind was putting her through. Finally, the girl's eyes opened; still glazed with fever, but clear. "Welcome back." Veera murmured, using a strip of cloth to try and dab the sweat from the girl's forehead. She wasn't exactly the mothering type, but she could try. She grabbed the water sack around her waist and lifted the strap over her head, helping the girl to drink the water.

"Do you remember your name? Your age? And where you are?" Veera desperately hoped the girl's mind wasn't broken. If that was the case, there wouldn't be much done for her if her brother couldn't be found.

Ana spread her hands in a slight exasperation. "You can't reason with her, first of all." She pointed at Yana. "She lost her humanity a long time ago. Second, there is no mage's code. We don't fight each other out of desire, we do it out of necessity. To protect ourselves. Just the same as any other fights, normally." She added with a glare at Yana. "If she would let me pass, then I would go. I have other responsibilities that await my attention, and if the child won't come with, then she won't come with. She has power, and is old enough to know her mind. I wish I could save everyone, but I can't."

At this point, she just wanted to wash her hands of the whole ordeal. He was waiting on her, and she needed to return before nightfall. She had no desire to add her own injuries to the list of things that needed her attention today.

"There are other ways to get your aggression out. Ever thought of finding yourself a woman? I know a few names if you need assistance." Bryce narrowed his eyes as the water dripped from his hair. He really didn't want to keep standing here, but until the witcher took the oath to not kill them, he couldn't move. He hesitated to kill Callum, but if it was necessary to protect his people, so be it.

"This young man hasn't done any wrong. He's been trying to make his way through life without attracting attention, as have most of my people. If they do cause trouble, they are punished accordingly. I would ask that you either give us your oath that you will not harm us, or let us leave in peace. I wish no harm to you, but I will not have someone slaughtered for simply existing."

Zack stood in the river, pretty much a useless tool at this point. He was hoping he wouldn't have to run anymore, the edges of his vision turning fuzzy. All he wanted to do was lie down and sleep off the foolish drinks he had consumed. This had all happened because he had decided to get drunk, like a useless toss pot.

Ana had nearly jumped out of her skin with the resounding crash from outside. Judging from the screams, it wasn't good. Not good at all. She knocked on the door to let Aedion know she wouldn't be standing guard anymore, then dashed out the door, past Hunter and the in-the-middle-of-being-interrogated man. Outside, it was completely chaos. People ran, screaming past her as bodies lay on the street, blood oozing onto the cobblestones and dirt. Somewhere, somehow, a fire had started, and as the flames liked the sky, Ana started into action. It would draw the Jester's attention, but Ana felt she had no choice. She would not let a child die. Dashing up the street, she wrapped her arms around the small child, pulling him into her arms while gripping her scythe in her right hand, holding the pole in front of them like the tiny wooden shield it was, before glaring up at the monster, turning so her back was to it and her face was turned over her shoulder. At least if it attacked before she could get away, the child would be safe.

Kala narrowed her eyes when Osiris looked her up and down like a piece of meat hanging off a hook. She hoped he wasn't getting any funny ideas about exactly why she was here. "Four is a good number." she replied softly, looking around the building. Kingdom Hearts was beautiful, but staring at it did nothing for her. She wanted something tangible, something real. Like another report. "I wish to know everything. May I please start now?" She asked, anticipation and anxiety on the edge of her voice. "I wish to understand myself as soon as possible." Before whatever they did to me explodes and I die. The thought filled her with a little panic. Despite the killing she did, she liked life. Liked living. Sure it hadn't been much more then sex, violence, and alcohol up to this point, but she still liked it.

It happened so fast for Tessa, her mind wasn't sure how to comprehend at first. The woman had appeared, killing one of Neoph's friends and one other before muttering some threats and vanishing. Tessa felt as though she had been put under a spell, unable to move or shoot as long as the woman talked. If that was true, they were in deep trouble. She didn't lower her bow, but warily watched Neoph and the others. Losing a comrade would have a negative effect on them, and learning their home was in danger made it worse. As they raced back, she quickened her pace until she ran next to Neoph, holding her arrow towards the ground in order to keep from accidentally shooting anyone else.

"I know you're shaken up, but you're going to need a plan. You can't just rush in, or more people are going to die." She told him as quietly as exertion and the noise around her would allow. "You need a plan." She repeated, hoping her words got through to him on some level.

Tessa as the Queen, tried to school her features into one of anticipation as the huntswoman approached Snow White, but all she felt was dread. The woman wouldn't actually kill her, would she? Despite her misgivings, Tessa watched in the magic mirror, which was basically staring at Conrad's face and trying not to feel awkward about it. Oh wait..."Um, magic mirror, show me Snow White. Or the hunstwoman. Whoever is easier." She whispered. Now she could stare at his face and try not to feel awkward.

Tessa bit her lip before clenching her hands. "If you would be willing, I would like to learn." She murmured, her nails pressing into her palms. It wouldn't help her control her own magic, but perhaps being able to fix the messes she left behind would be a good start. "But, if it's okay, I wanna stay here with Conrad. Just...just until he's better." The last part came out as a whisper as her throat began to tighten. But she would not cry. The time for tears was over. She had to be stronger now.

"Thank you, Damian. I owe you." She added. Even if he didn't want a favor from her, she would offer it regardless. Despite her rather strange and previous encounter with the man, when he wasn't drunk he seemed to be a good person.

Tessa didn't remember coming up the steps, but she noticed when they were at the top, that one person was still missing. Zephyr...She felt a tug of sadness at her heart when she thought of him. Whatever her and Alexis and Shane had been about to do, he had stood there, he had been....invited, and he had watched. What did he think of them now? What did he think of her? She turned to look for him, pausing as she saw Ze Operator tense out of the corner of her eyes. Great. The timeless feeling of exhaustion crept over her once more as she clenched her fists and slid into a fighting stance, senses alert for any sign of the next boss. Hopefully Zephyr would arrive in time.

The girl didn't let go of her hand right away, and Veera raised an eyebrow when she finally did. "I would have to admit that this place has changed me as well.." The girl, Xara, continued to talk, and Veera remained quiet, absorbing the information in between looking at the other kid. He must be either shy or just not a talker. Veera decided to herself, crossing her arms over her chest. "I wonder, have you tried using your keyblade at all?" She asked the little boy, before shrugging to herself. "I don't know why I haven't, but I guess we follow Xara before she gets lots in the darkness again." Which, lets face it, might happen anyway, but she might as well give it some effort.

It didn't bother her that she was following a girl who looked half her age, not in the slightest. Veera could very well make decisions, and act upon them. But right now, she didn't have a better plan other then just wandering around, and if what Xara said was true, then the keyblades might know of a way out. Still, for some reason the desire to draw her own was tempered. By laziness? Exhaustion? No....it felt more like hopelessness. Deep down, she didn't think they were ever going to escape this darkness.
And that, Veera, is there are no other adults. She shook her shoulders and continued on, after Xara, into the black.

Veera sighed, then grabbed the potion from the wooden table. "I'll tell him, but gods willing you're strong enough to make it through. May they watch over you." May they watch over us all. She helped the girl sit up and pressed the bottle to her lips, waiting until the red liquid was completely gone before setting it back down. She would have plenty of time to remake it later. "I apologize, but I must do this for your own protection." She went into the bloodstained room, wrinkling her nose at the smell of body fluid as she grabbed one of the few remaining clean sheets. Tearing it in half with ease, she recreated a gentler version of the bonds that had held Tatiana, and used them to tie her wrists and ankles to the bed posts.

"This is not going to be pleasant." She added, working quickly but trying to leave the girl enough slack that she wouldn't feel trapped. It was much too soon to put her through such an ordeal, but there was no choice. "You're going to experience a seizure, probably within the next five minutes. After that, I cannot say. But I won't leave you." Finished with tying the girl up so that the seizure wouldn't completely destroy her body, Veera pulled up a chair, clasping her hands as she rested her elbows on her knees. "You may call me Veera. The bonds will keep you from hurting yourself while I make sure you don't bite your tongue in half."

And now, there was nothing left but to sit back and wait.

Teriana had barely enough time to throw up a shield to protect herself and William. The flames illuminated her hair and face as she watched it repel the black fire back up towards the ceiling before causing it to vanish. Looking over, she noticed that Yana was protecting the child from the flames, despite the obvious illness it was causing the girl. Could it be that Yana had an emotional stake in the child? Teriana highly doubted such a possibility, but it wasn't the strangest thing she had seen. She let the shield disintegrate in her hands and straightened, brushing ash off her dress.
"As ready for battle as ever." She said in a flat voice, eyeing both Yana and the girl. It appeared the child had powers of her own. And Yana had mentioned training her. An apprentice? One Yana was enough for this world.

"You should let that child go to a good home. Someone who will give her actual clothes instead of risking her being mistaken for a whore's dress up doll." Teriana wanted nothing more then to leave this place and get back to the man who was waiting for her. Well, for her flowers. But her conscience told her she couldn't leave without at least trying to save the girl from a life time of misery. Or an early death.

Zack turned back, his hair sopping wet and giving him an overall pathetic appearance as he let his arms hang at his sides. He was frightened, more then a little frightened by the sight of Callum covered in blood. How many people had this witcher killed, just because he wanted to live? How many people had just died for him to remain free a little longer? "Why do you do it?" He asked dully, staring down at the water that swirled around his torso. "Why do you have to kill us? We didn't do anything wrong. We just want to live, too."

Bryce waited until the witcher had focused his attention entirely on Zack. On the obvious target. He stepped from the shadows of the bridge that had conveniently come into the storyline at this point. "The boy has a point." He said as he pointed his iron blade towards Callum's neck, shield strapped to his left arm. "Why do you have to hunt us? We haven't wronged anyone, least of all you. If you have a contract, I can offer you more then they'll pay you." He said, arm steady. He was taking a gamble with this, but a witcher's code first and foremost involved gold. If he could appeal to that, then perhaps he and Zack could make it back for supper.
