OOC: No banner post because reasons.

Ana clung to her horse, praying to hell and back that the animal would take it easy on her as she gently squeezed the mare's sides with her thighs. The animal started forward gracefully, and Ana hunched over, keeping her hands firmly wrapped around the saddle horn as it followed Aedion and Zeal. She was jealous of their easy grace and comfort at being on such a strange creature. I mean, what other animal rides other animals? Nothing! But rather then focus on the unique mysteries of the universe, she focused on not making more of a fool out of herself and not thinking about Aedion's hands on her as she followed her two companions after Hunter.

Kala jerked herself out of her revere and focused on the man in front of her. He too liked chaos...was he like her? "You say there are more. What would I have to do to get them?" Her hands tightly held the report. Though mostly pictures and strange words, she had no doubt they would hold clues on what had been done to her, and who she had been. The thought brought her nearly overwhelming excitement, and she nearly trembled with joy. Her nearly forgotten goal was once more in her grasp.

Tessa smiled at Yu, though she was uncertain if he saw it. He's carrying darkness inside of him. They all are. She thought to herself, halting in her steps as an unknown voice penetrated her thoughts. Much the way she had, someone else was calling out, asking to be included on their little adventure. She pulled an arrow from her quiver, hands stroking the sleek feathers along the shafts as she held the arrow knocked against the bow string, but pointed towards the ground. Ready for trouble, but at ease. Just in case she needed to be concerned.

"Noble. That makes sense." Tessa spat, her knuckles turning white as her fingernails dug into her palms. "You guys always think you're better then the rest of us. Just because you got lucky in life, the rest of us are shit." She hadn't even realized she was swearing as she stalked forward, staring up at Vance with burning eyes. "We're better then you. Damian is better then you, because he gives a damn. He apologized. He made a mistake. But you sat on him. You woke up Conrad even though I said we should let him sleep. Because I don't matter. Damian doesn't matter. Well fine." She stepped aside, moving away from the bed that Damian rested on. In the back of her mind, she realized there was only one reason Vance was polite to Conrad. Only one reason he would dare to share a room with the other man.

"Can't even stay in a room with the rest of the trash?" She asked bitterly, refusing to look at Conrad or Thea. "There's the damn door. You should get out before we infect you with disease or inflict bad luck on you." At the last words she twiddled her fingers at Vance in a mocking fashion, a slight breeze cooling the air between her fingers before she let her hand fall. Normally, the lack of control would have frightened her. But she was mad. She had had enough of being left behind and protected and looked down on for being weak. This might not have been the best hill to die on, but dammit she would stand her ground. She was not afraid. Not really.

Tessa had been willing to sit by and just watch, especially when such a scary man had pushed past her. That all changed when said scary man began to yell insults at an obviously hung over Damian. "He's not a cur!" She yelled, running into the room with her hands clenched, standing by Damian's head as she stared up at the man who probably towered over her (her creator sucks at measuring height). "He made a mistake, and he apologized! He's not feeling well, so leave him alone! I don't know why Thea was so excited about you if you're such a rude, cruel man!"

It didn't occur to her that she was making these accusations really based on nothing but the interaction he was having with Damian. He hadn't been all that bad with Conrad, after all. But the way this man spoke, it was as if he was so much better then Damian, then her, then anyone really. What the hell gave him that right?
Her hair whirled around her as she spat out the words in anger, and her cheeks flushed. "What makes you so much better then us?!"
Perhaps it was passive aggressive emotions that led her to say it. Perhaps it was that she had let someone else push her out of the way. Perhaps it was the way he acted. Maybe all three. Tessa didn't bother analyzing, it, she wasn't a psychologist and she sure as hell wasn't gonna be.

"What are you doing here?" The rest of the question was lost on Tessa as she whirled around, her hands grabbing the hem of her shirt as her eyes widened. Her mind halted for a moment as she looked up at a very intimidating man. "Um....Um..." Something about Conrad. This man was asking about Conrad? "Um...I think he's sleeping, or he's dead. I guess i'm not sure." She spoke really quickly, her hands wringing her shirt until it was wrinkled and her palms raw. "I wasn't going to go in until he said it was okay, I swear." She added, glancing at the little girl. Thea. She was talking to Skadi earlier. Tessa felt a twinge of bitterness at the smaller female, who had left her in the streets to go find this man, apparently.
"Maybe we should wait for him to wake up." This option was better. If he wasn't dead, he would be mad if they walked in on him. And she was pretty sure he wasn't dead, but not one hundred percent.

"Um...you're kind of scary. You should maybe smile or something." It would at least set her racing heart a little more at ease if he didn't look like he was going to steal her soul. Conrad had looked much nicer.

    Halloween
"Um...oh yeah! Yeah that bitch, how could she do that?" Tessa answered, swearing out loud for the first time in her life. "Um...we should...do something to her..right? Like, hang a bucket of water over the door or something." Completely disregarding the answer to her first question, since she didn't know what an arrow was or how to use it.

Meanwhile, back at the Guild Hall
Tessa hovered outside the door, unsure of what to do now. He wasn't moving....was he dead? Oh god what if he had killed himself? She stood rooted to the spot, unable to comprehend that some people did actually sleep during the night as she contemplated whether she should go for help or try to help him herself.

    Halloween

Tessa blushed as she grabbed the corner of her sleeve to clean the side of the mirror. "I'll um...talk to the lady. She should know how to clean mirrors. Kind of why I hired her. So...yeah." She fiddled with her sleeves once finished, biting her lip. "Um..yeah. I guess....that's okay?" She stuttered, gripping her hands together now. "Um....what does shoot mean?"

Meanwhile, back at the Batcave Guild Hall
Tessa stared at her hands in her lap as the birds fluttered around her and Alessia remained silent. Perhaps she had already left. Tessa couldn't tell. She thought back to when she had first arrived. Alessia had been the first to greet her in the guild hall. Then the rest had come. Zephyr and Jack and Conrad. They had all just been trying to help, and ended up arguing because she hadn't been brave enough to speak up. She wished she could have. Maybe then Conrad wouldn't have walked away angry. The more she thought about it, the more angry she became. Her body thrummed with the tension that built up over the guilt she carried. No, she had to fix this. Jack had been upset, and Zephyr and Conrad. She had to fix it.
She abruptly stood, hands clenched at her sides, and stalked out of the room, hair flying behind her.
Conrad had said he was going to sleep. If they were in the girls' dorms, then that would make the boy's.....this way. She turned and walked quickly down the hallway, never once second guessing her decision until she ended up in the actual dorm. Okay....Now which room was his? Even if he had even actually come here at all.

She slowed her pace, pressing an ear to each door in an effort to try and hear some sort of signal or hint that would tell her where he was. Eventually, she reached a door that was slightly ajar. Praying she wouldn't see anything explicit, she peeked inside to see what looked like Conrad's form. Was he sleeping? Should I go check? She hovered outside of his room, some of the tension ebbing away in the face of uncertainty. Once more, she was filled with frustration, and shut her eyes for a moment, grimacing before knocking on the door. "Conrad? It's Tessa."

Veera opened her eyes, as a small voice spoke in her ear. "Are any of us okay?" She muttered to herself before opening her eyes. Oh. A small girl. And a small boy, she amended as she looked to the side. "Okay, okay, let me up." Her voice was hoarse from little use, and her body was tired. She had slept too long; an easy thing to do here.
"So, now that we've established that I can hear you." She looked from one to the other, rubbing her eyes as she yawned. "What are you two doing here?" It had been bad to think she was here by herself, but to think that kids were trapped here....it made her feel guilty that she had stopped looking.

"How did you get here?" She continued, propping herself up with one hand while the other draped across her lap.

There had been a presence. A man...and yet not a man. Veera's eyes opened and narrowed as the creature approached her. The witcher necklace at her throat pulsed, and she got to her feet just as the man decided to turn, and leave. Veera hesitated, her mind quickly flashing through her options. She could either chase the woman, who was a monster of some sort, or she could carry on with her prey.
Though Veera longed to hunt the victim in front of her, she knew her place was on the trail. The woman, or whatever she was, had not been a high vampire or a witch. Neither would have shied away from taking on a lone witcher. So that left a doppler. She knew what harm the dopplers could cause, but the harm her prey might do could cause more.
Nevertheless, she sent a last glare after the retreating back of the stranger in the dark, praying that he would find bad luck along the way that would help him out of this world.
Veera knelt down and extinguished her fire before hoisting her pack onto her back and continuing on the trail. Soon, very soon she would catch her quarry.

    Image not working.

Zack was working on getting good and drunk. He hadn't looked at any of his bar mates, and he didn't plan to as he downed mug after mug of liquor he most certainly shouldn't be spending money on. His state of mind slowly fading, his senses dulling, he was putting himself in danger, and he didn't even know it. Not yet, anyway. He signaled the barkeep for another before laying his head on the counter top, the room pleasantly spinning around him.

"William?" The poor boy looked half frozen to death, and while Ana lowered her hands, she didn't lower her guard. She knelt next to him, fishing in the basket for the sweater that she had found before handing it towards him, waiting for him to put it on before she began to rub his hands, trying to get his fingers warm. He should have suffered severe frostbite after being in a prison like that, but suprisingly he seemed to only be very very cold.

"My name is Teliana. The year is 258. It's the winter of 258, to be more correct." She frowned slightly before letting his hand drop and holding her palm upwards instead. A small flame consumed her skin, warming both her skin and the boy's. "How did this happen to you?" She asked, her eyes searching his face with concern and curiosity.

Tessa grinned at Zack before turning back to her food. A few bites later, Griffin had sat down on her left. She smiled at him, the smile dying a little as she noticed he had no food.
"Um, you want something? I could grab you a plate or you could have some of mine. It's pretty good." She shoved her plate towards him a little encouragingly, before turning to look for Olivia. She saw the girl's back retreating, and waved towards her, standing halfway out of her seat. In her mind, if Olivia didn't acknowledge her, she was going to get up and tackle the other girl.
"Hey! Olivia! There's still room over here!"

Image is not working so yeah.

Zack had begun to worry about Adelina when she finally sat down next to him with an apology. "Don't worry about it." He said quickly, glancing at her from the corners of his eyes as he took another bite of food. Had she been crying? "Are you okay?" He asked hesitantly, setting down his silverware. "I mean....if you don't want to hang out..." Had it been his fault she was crying? Was she upset because she didn't want to and didn't know how to reject him? Tessa never cried when she was happy, only when she got really made or grief stricken.

Veera glanced at Gale before following him down. She clenched her hands when Drake began to speak to the city dwellers, swallowing past the bile in her throat. To steal from these criminals was one thing, but to talk to them...She noticed one of them looking at her with narrowed eyes, and immediately stepped behind Gale, using him as a shield. It had been long ago that she had been sent from the city to die, but her scars were...unique. She had been friends with other children in the neighborhoods before her untimely departure, and there was the slightest chance that someone might, might remember her. She let her short hair fall in front of her face, trying to obscure herself further without being obvious.

"Veera?" And her blood ran cold with fear.

Tessa blushed and stuttered her way through the lines because she had no idea what was going on, and above all had never considered herself to be beautiful, much less ask someone else if she was.

"Um...um...Mirror, Spirit of the Mirror, c-can you tell me..." She swallowed, pressing her hands to her face for a moment before peeking out between her fingers. "Can you tell me who is the fairest in all of the land? And um...maybe we can discuss your vacation days?"

She swallowed once more, hoping that the little bit of humor wouldn't cause the wrath of the gods down upon her.

We never really talked or anything, but we kinda grew up with each other. It's both awesome and sad to see you go, knowing you'll move on to better and and bigger things but also knowing that those things won't involve us anymore.

I'm both proud and sad for seeing you go, but I guess each and every one of us will eventually. I guess I would say don't look at it as an ending to what your role was here, but a beginning into what it will be.

And all that sappy sh!t aside, welcome back to the ranks of the pink.

"One of your friends? Who-" Tessa's reply was cut off by a sixth figure appearing in the room. She didn't scream, but she did jump back several feet and automatically draw her weapon, her eyes wide with shock as she beheld a human. Was this a boss? A trick? She trembled, badly needing a rest but her body screaming that there was danger.
It didn't even occur to her that she hadn't introduced herself to the stranger. Right now she stood beside him, her mind instinctively taking him for a comrade, there to help her fight.

Ana blinked when Aedion walked off, wondering if he wasn't coming back. Perhaps he had only waited until Hunter had left to avoid causing more disturbances between the two. But then he came back, on one of the prettiest horses Ana could have imagined. Is there anything about this guy that isn't just -Nope. Not going there. She blushed as he approached her, biting her lip to keep her emotions centered. Everyone had baggage, and until she understood what his was, she couldn't be certain he didn't like torturing people just as much as Hunter did. Ah confusing thoughts. She nodded in response to his question and turned to face her horse once more, gripping the mane perhaps a little more tightly then she should have. The horse neighed, and Ana scooted back a few feet, skittish once more. Even though she had picked the smallest horse, it just seemed so much bigger then what she had imagined.

Teliana had tossed the backpack onto her bed, and now she began to quickly roll up clothing and stuff it in. "Two pairs of jeans, one pair of sweat pants, four bras, four pairs of underwear, three pairs of socks, a sweater, and four pairs of shirts, two short sleeved, two long sleeved." She murmured as she stuffed the items in. She had given her little sister the same list, along with some books for entertainment in the extra space. Veera had protested the lack of electronic devices, but when Teliana pointed out they still had their phones, she quit whining. Teliana dropped to the floor and reached underneath her bed, grabbing the extra flashlight and batteries she kept underneath. She shoved that in and dragged herself to the bathroom, where she took up the rest of the space with the medical kit and her toiletries.
"Only what you need." She told Veera as she passed by the younger girl's room, zipping up her backpack and tossing it into the back of the car. In her haste, she nearly forgot to grab the satchel of food she had packed, and ran back in the house, grabbing that as well and tossing it into the back seat. They would have to stop and hopefully find more. She paced as she waited for Veera before settling against the Prius, fiddling with the keys.
They hadn't heard from their mother or father for two days. Mom had told her this was bad. Ana knew with her gut it was. They had to get out, and go to the cabin. It was isolated enough that they might be safer. Plus, their dad kept his guns out there....She looked up as Veera stepped outside of the house and gently placed her backpack into the back of the car.

"Ana, what do you think it all means?" Veera wrung her hands nervously, Her older sister, Teliana, shrugged her shoulders and shut the trunk of the car. "All I know is, Sis, the cabin seems our best bet." She swung the car keys around her forefinger nonchalantly, playing off what Veera thought was a slightly more serious situation. Veera opened the passenger seat and dropped in, crossing her arms across her chest as she blew the hair out of her face. "Well I wish you would take it more serious." She muttered as Teliana took her time staring at the house they had shared before getting into the vehicle. She wished Teliana showed any kind of seriousness about this at all. Their parents were sick, and had checked themselves into the hospital. It had been two days since they had heard anything. Teliana had made the executive decision that they needed to leave, and so both girls had packed a small backpack, taking some warm clothing, and toiletries. Veera packed books into hers while Teliana put emergency supplies like flash lights and the med kits. Veera didn't ask why they were packing as such, she just did it.
Veera watched as her sister pressed the key into the ignition, her hands shaking slightly before turning it over, the small Prius humming to life. Maybe she's taking it seriously after all. Veera turned to look out the window, watching their home slowly fade into the distance as she clutched her hands around the single momento she had allowed herself to bring, that of a single photograph of their family.

Zack walked along the side of the road, his head bent and his hands stuffed in his pocket. He had been walking for days, had left the camp he had been staying at when one of the people started coughing. He didn't trust it, didn't trust any of them after that. He wanted to survive this. He had seen what the disease had done to those it infected, and he wanted no part in that death. No...if he was going to die, he wanted it to be his choice. Or at least quicker then that. A sigh, and he looked up to try and gauge how much daylight he had left. A couple of hours, hopefully. He put his head back down and kept going. Maybe, if someone who wasn't sick drove by, he would try to get a ride. Or else this could take forever.

Ana blinked after following Hunter to the stables. Interrogation? Did I miss something? Having been a recent victim of such treatment herself, she shifted nervously. Well...no one said she had to be in the room. And Hunter seemed more then willing to perform such actions. The thought only reaffirmed that she shouldn't trust him. If he was so ready to do unto others what had been done to her, what else was he capable of?

She shook her head and approached one of the smaller horses, a grey mare. "Um...hi." She whispered, holding out her hand hesitantly. The horse nibbled it gently before shaking her head, causing Ana to smile. It was already saddled, but she stared at the creature with more then a little dismay and uncertainty. She had never ridden a horse before. "Okay. Okay." She grabbed the reins and led the horse out of the stable just as Hunter yelled something over his shoulder and took off. Of course he wouldn't wait for them. She turned back and stared at the saddle with unease. There were so many parts. She turned and looked for Zeal and Aedion. Maybe if she saw them get on their horses she could understand how to do it.

Kala's lips twitched as her wounds burned, and she watched the skin magically knit back together. Just as it finished, she reached up to catch the report Osiris tossed her. "One of twenty?" Interest to me? She opened the first page, keeping a watchful eye on the man in front of her, and froze. What the fu-"Where did you get this?" She hissed, flipping through page after page as her eyes widened and her already pale skin whitened further. These weren't supposed to exist. Nothing would have been written down or released. Yet here, in front of her, was page after page detailing her physical features, mental strength and awareness, and skills. There was a picture of her as a young girl, staring at the camera with wide eyes, clutching a teddy bear. She remembered that photo being taken. She remembered the fear, and the pain that soon followed.

"What do you want?" She asked, her voice trembling as she looked up, hands clenching the paper, threatening to tear the report with her ferocity. She was upset.

Tessa frowned slightly, but bowed her head. "I am Tessa. Wanderer. I'm not used to working with a group of people, but if you think it would be worthwhile for me to join you, then I shall do so. I must warn you, I'm of little use in close combat." She took her bow into her hands, making sure the string was sound and shifting her quiver so it rested along her hip instead of her shoulder, allowing her right hand easy access to the slew of arrows she had made the other day. "Shall we go then?" She asked Neoph and the boy. "Oh, I don't believe I caught your name." She said kindly to the young man.
