Short History: Spoiler Tessa grew up with her mother and grandmother, her father having vanished after she was born. After destroying her home and nearly killing her family, Tessa left to try and find the source of her power, and her father. That was three years ago. Now Tessa has grown in strength and confidence, but is out of leads, money, and hope. Her one last idea is to make it to the top of the tower, where she will garner enough money and information to give the search for her father one more shot, in hopes of understanding who she is. Other: I was coerced into this.

Tessa watched what must have been a long awaited reunion between Skadi and the unknown girl. It made her feel a little better, to see that Skadi was so well beloved. Unless the two girls were also insane psychopaths and they all just got along really well. Food for thought, anyway. She glanced over to the male who had been accompanying the girl, the odor of alcohol wafting from his body. He was clearly still in the throes of the drink, with no close end in sight. He was the one she was concerned about. It had been her previous experience that men, when drunk, had the tendency to become angry and violent. Or other worse things. Tessa's mother had always said never to judge a book by its cover, but that saying hadn't gotten her mother anywhere good, had it? And besides, it was always better to be safe then sorry in Tessa's mind. She crossed her arms over her chest protectively, waiting to see what else this little reunion would bring.
As she had predicted, Kara's charge had been dispatched to his room by a less than sober Heralt, who had soon followed. Kara had watched them walk with disdain before stepping back into the outdoors. Sleep was a long way yet for her, and as she sucked in a large breath of air, trying to calm herself, she was reminded yet again that they should have made it to their destinations. Why did it have to take so long? She kicked a rock, frustration succeeding in overwhelming her control for a moment. It was in that moment that she sensed the other presence. She was not alone. As she peered at her surroundings, her hand subtly going to her weapon, the back of her neck prickled. Whoever this was, was definitely not friendly. OOC: Short post is short. Veera made her way through the crowds of King's Landing, her eyes shifting from side to side as she easily slipped between the populated streets, never letting a single soul brush against her. It was yet another day in this glorious city, and she was yet again bored. It had been a few weeks since her last contract, and it was finally time for her to accept another. She had considered starting to look for potential customers in the local taverns, but laziness tugged at her mind. Just one more day. One more day off. She promised herself, easily side stepping a farmer with his horse and wagon. She smiled easily at the man, slipping into a friendly facade before fading back into the crowd. Likely the man would be hard pressed to remember her face. She stopped in front of a food stall and bought a pasty. Munching on it as she turned to rejoin the throngs of people, she glanced at the guards that were patrolling the streets. Their faces were solemn, their eyes blank, but she sensed an air of wariness and uneasy about them. Interesting. Shoving the rest of the meat pasty into her mouth in an unladylike manner, she slipped into the shadows and began to stalk to the guards, intent on listening to whatever gossip they would speak of. It may be her last day off, but that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun, and perhaps find herself another job along the way. The life of an assassin wasn't easy, but it was never boring.
"I'm not even going to ask why you have that." she heard the disdain in his voice, and ignored it. So what if she had a shiny, circular object that would pop out of her ceiling with the push of a button? It had seemed like a decent upgrade to add at the time. And she had some good times with that disco ball. Well, it was a mood setter anyway. She bit her lip and refrained from telling him exactly what buttons he should press in order to start up the machine. He had insulted her disco ball after all. She was semi surprised that they actually began to rise in the air, and turned to stare out the window. From his behavior, she had quickly figured out that he was no more a pilot then she was. If they were going to die, she wanted to be able to see it coming. That way, she could throw a few curses Sapphire's way before descending into whatever afterlife there was. And she would be damned if she was going to let the jerk sitting beside her get away with living. If she was going to die, she would take him down with her, mission or not. Who the hell did he think he was, insulting her disco ball?
Ana tossed her hair and followed him, trying to ignore his words. There was no way he could have known....and even if he did, he couldn't prove it. She could only hope his skills were superior to hers. A small pit of apprehension began to grow in her stomach as they approached the gummi ship. The last time she had been in the small craft, it had nearly ended in her decaptitation. The craft had been repaired, but the scars remained on her soul, staining it with fear. She dearly hoped she wouldn't be forced to use her healing magic before they had a chance to rest, or Glen would be forced to carry her to wherever his mission was. She had to wonder how important it really was. He seemed capable, but she had been sent as back up. What did that mean for her future? Nothing. She decided, squaring her shoulders. First was surviving the flight to their mission. Their. It had a nice ring to it.
Tessa jumped, slightly started by the exclamation from Skadi. Apparently there was good news. Tessa smoothed her shirt nervously and offered a timid smile in the girls' direction. "Congratulations." She offered Thea. While unsure of the occasion, it would be impolite to not recognize the joy it had caused the two females. "It just sounds like he's drunk. Do you think he's bothering her?" She asked, pointing a finger in the direction of the voice. Skadi didn't seem alarmed, and perhaps that was enough reason not to be, but Tessa didn't know Skadi very well either. Perhaps the other girl would leave someone in trouble. Or perhaps she just wouldn't care. While that didn't fit the image Tessa had of Skadi, she had to remind herself that she needed to be less trusting. It would only get her into trouble, and she had already let these two lead her around. Just as she was about to square her shoulders and march on, a tiny voice in her mind reminded her that if she was being bothered, she would want help. With another sigh, Tessa shuffled her feet. "I guess we should go make sure everything is okay." She mumbled.
Glen. She let the name sink in, allowing a smile to cross her lips. She had found him, nearly right away. This was going to be a piece of cake. Ignoring the annoyance in his voice, because all men were impatient, she smoothed the front of her clothes. "I believe I have a way to help you." Out of her pocket and into her hands appeared a set of keys. "I haven't flown it in quite a while. But it should still work." If this man knew what was good for him, he wouldn't allow her to drive it. There was a good reason she hadn't used it in quite a while. She tossed the keys towards him before turning around and trying to get a sense of direction, not bothering to see if he caught them. "Where's the loading docks?" She asked.
Tessa quietly walked besides the other two girls, searching her mind for any clues or hints. She came up dead empty as always, and sighed, frustrated. Skadi was leading the way, Thea at her side, and it was just as well. Tessa listened to them quietly talk as she stared at the ground, kicking the rocks underneath her feet. Some distance away, she could hear a second conversation, and turned, half curious. She could hear a voice, somewhere close to a very large tree, but she couldn't see the owner. Half of her wanted to go investigate, but she flushed. What exactly would she say if she did find the person? That she heard their voices and was drawn to it? Creepy. She looked ahead, wondering if the other two had noticed. She would let them make the decision, then. The voice was loud, and sounded like it held more then a handful of intoxication.
The goddess? Ana blinked, getting to her feet and brushing off her knees. Transport? "I know of some ways, but I'm not sure how to conjur them." She glanced behind her, wondering if the dark corridor had yet to close. Perhaps they could still use it to get where they needed to go. Wait, they? Why in the name of all that was good was she going with? She turned back to the man, flicking her hair over her shoulder. "There may be a dark corridor still available. But first may I ask your name? I too am looking for someone."

I'd give it a go. So you have one. KHV is a black hole. Only those of the blackest souls remain untouched by the swirling darkness that sucks everyone else in.
This is belated, but happy birthday!
Ana tapped her fingers on the table, considering Neoph's words. A job would be helpful....and she did need to get stronger. As much as the words hurt, she simply couldn't care for herself in this stage. But the last thing she wanted to do was tie herself again once more. All the same, perhaps it would be better if she was the one to choose to tie herself to this little village. What could it hurt? Kala wanted to bang her head against the wall. Or Local Man's. Or someone else's. Of all the cursed bad luck. She said a few more choice words before turning on her heel, stowing her sword in its sheath and striding as far away, as quickly as she could. The blood lust wasn't as obvious and forefront as it had been before, but it was still there, and if she wanted any decent sleep she needed to take care of it. She didn't want to wait. Patience had never been her strong suit, even from what she could remember. -Time skip- Ana shuffled herself to an unoccupied corner, watching the people both recognized and not filter into the room. She fiddled with the hem of her shirt nervously as she listened to Neoph's words, her mind leaning one way or the other as she struggled to keep up with the conversation. If she joined, she would be expected to care about this, and try to take care of it. She would be expected to fight with these people in an effort to keep the village safe. Was she capable? An unknown man was the first to question Neoph's plan. She crossed her arms over her chest as she listened to what he had to say, before Hunter spoke up. Apparently this little group was something close to a democracy. Her head tuned out Hunter's words as she stared at the man contemplatively. Should she join? Kala wandered through the small patch of woods, swinging her sword almost carelessly. Every move she made was graceful, but not necessarily planned. The Heartless fell before her in small groups and she grinned underneath her cowl, too pleased with the heat of battle to be concerned about the rising numbers. She could sense a few Nobodies on the fringes of her awareness, but they weren't attacking yet. That was fine with her. Another Heartless clanked on the right, ready to attack. She stepped forward, swinging her sword in a semi circle as she stepped into the attack. The Heartless dissipated with little more then a stunned clunk, and she continued forward. This is what I was made to do.
Tessa hesitated, pressing her lips together in thought. It wasn't a half bad idea. And she wouldn't get lost, or at least be lost by herself. She nodded, locking her fingers tightly in an effort to control the flow of anxious energy that radiated from her mind. "Yeah, okay. Lead the way." She murmured, ducking her head.
Tessa shook her head. "I don't know their name." She said softly, clasping her hands tightly in front of her. "They were just supposed to be here." She glanced at the small girl. The woman in front of her might have mentioned her name, but Tessa hadn't caught it. "Um, I can come back later." She offered, backing towards the door, her face flushed. "You seem like you're busy, and I'm...not much help." Maybe if she thought really hard, she could come up a shred of detail of what the old man had said. It hadn't crossed her mind that this might not even be the right guild. It fit the description, but others had too. Embarrassed at the thought, her face flushed darker, and her heart began to pound.
Tessa felt herself smile in spite of herself at the young girl's exuberance. She could remember a time when she had been the same way. All the more reason why she had to find this person. Maybe those times could be returned to her. "Um...I don't know what they look like." She offered, blushing with the absurdity of the response. "I just know they're a dr-" she halted, licking her lips nervously. Well, she had come too far now to stop here. And they were looking at her. Waiting for an answer. Awkward. She took a steadying breath, swallowed as she wiped her palms on her pants, and spoke again. "The only thing I know is that they're a dragon slayer."
Ana walked cautiously down the shadowy corridor, feeling the way with her toes. She was only mildly tired, her energy reserves holding steady as she pushed forward. Glen. The name of the person she was supposed to find. The person she had to help. Trepidation slowly crept It's way through her body, as it always did when she was sent on a new mission. She had hoped, after this last, that she would be able to work on her weapon skills. Her dagger was sorely needed, but without it, she had been forced to resort to beads. Beads. Well, someone had to be the first, and she was most definitely the first to use them that particular way. No matter, it was in the past. The end of the corridor was in sight, and Ana's pace quickened. The sooner she got this over with, the sooner she could go home and better herself. Sapphire wouldn't send her on a mission she couldn't handle, right? She pushed through the door, and dropped to the ground, landing on one knee in order to prevent herself from falling on her face. If would have known what she dropped into, she would have stayed in that corridor.
Tessa blinked. Someone noticed her? "Um....yeah." She tried to pass the grimace on her face as a smile, cursing her shy behavior. "I'm looking for someone. " she muttered, quieter then her first words. "Someone who can help me." Other then those words, she didn't know how to describe them. She didn't even know them. She just knew they could help. And she desperately needed help. Before it happened again.
You're so optimistic; it's adorable.
